Chapter 2: A funeral for a wedding

`Kagome! You in here?!' Souta called and walked in to her room. For the last hour he tried to locate his sister, but she somehow disappeared in to thin air.
Turning in a circle, everything seemed to be normal. Kagomes bed was neat and tidy as always, her desk was a mess of stuff she never really used, such as old school books, used up pencils and erasers, keys, a cell phone, not to mention notebooks from her years in high school.
Up on the wall was an old cat shaped clock that had four long scratches along its tummy. They were caused by none other then Inuyasha him self. He had mistaken the poor old thing for a real live creature and due to him being a dog-hanyou, attacked. The clock flew across the room, crashed in to the other wall, than fell right down in to the garbage can.
Souta laughed at the memory. When Kagome found out, she sat him repeatedly and kept ignoring him for almost a month.
When Souta gazed upon the picture his sister had on the nightstand, he swore to strangle the demon, someday, for braking Kagomes heart like that.
`After all this years…and she still has his picture' Souta shook his head `But what's done is done…' sighing, he turned on his heals and started towards the door, when he heard a sob coming from inside Kagomes room.
``Now that's weird…'' he thought to him self and took another look. He checked the closet and the bathroom, not to mention he also took a look towards the roof. Nothing. Almost giving up, Souta kneeled down and bent over as he slowly lifted the bed sheets and took a peak under the bed.
`Kagome' he smiled softly.
She was dressed in a beautiful wedding gown, with matching gloves and a crystal tiara. Her head was resting on a fluffy pillow with cute little teddy bears while her beautiful curled hair fell down her face. One hand was resting under her cheek and the other one was holding a handkerchief. When he looked in to her eyes, they were all wet and soggy, not to mention full of tears. When she spoke to him, he could hear her shattering words.
`Souta, I…I…I can't do this' Kagome sniffed and brought her knees to her chest.
Somehow, she felt so empty and cold like never before.
He wanted to help, or at least say something to make her feel just a little bit better, but there was really nothing much he could do. Instead, he lied down on the carpet and took her hand in his own. He managed to crawl closer and kiss her forehead.
`You don't need to do this if you don't want to' she nodded back and closed her eyes.
`I know…but I have to'

Piercing golden eyes stared to the ground in to a fresh grave made for a now dead miko.
She lived her life to the end and even thought it was short, she loved it…she loved him…
He loved her…now that love was only a fairy tale between a monster and a beauty that was soon to turn in to a legend, which will be told on generations past generations as a magical story with a tragic ending and a happy beginning…
Kneeling down, the boy gently placed a black rosary with a spring flower on top of the grave as a single tear rolled down his right cheek. Suddenly a harsh wind blew and the locks covering his face were carried back, revealing his face.
`You're finally free Kikyou…' Inuyasha smiled and gazed up in to the sky. The blooming Sakura leaves faded away and got lost in the clouds. The sunrays reflected in his orbs and the sweet nature sounds were whistling in his ears. But sometimes looks can be deceiving no matter how perfect everything seems to be…

`I love you, you know that, don't you?' Kagome smiled at Hojos words and walked across the grass towards the old shrine. So much memories…so much things she was forced to forget, but never really could…Was, marrying Hojo really the only thing that could get her out of this hellhole?
As her feet stopped, Kagome gazed towards the sky and shield her eyes from the sun.
She dreamed of this day ever since she was a little girl and her mom used to tell her stories about princess on white horses. At that point, she had the urge to sue the authors for planting such ideas in little kids heads, that every girl has a prince and that every story ends happily ever after, then again, children were meant to dream before they realized what the world was really like.
Pushing aside the slide door, Kagome took a big breath then hurried over to the little figure that was jumping around on the edges of the Bone Eathers well. She lifted the little girl and spoon her around. The youngster laughed, before it buried its hands in to Kagomes curly hair and nuzzled her nose.
`You are so pretty, mommy' The girl continued playing with Kagomes curls.
She chuckled `You look amazing your self, Aiko'
*(Aiko - `Little Loved One')
Kagome let her daughter back down. The girl began to show of her dress and compliment her self in a very cute way. Her huge blue orbs were constantly glancing towards Kagome, while her small hands stroked the silky fabric of her dress. The girl pursed her lips and wrapped a curl of hair around her right index finger. She kicked with her right foot, than began to run around like a wild animal.
`I'm a Cinderella, mommy!'
Kagome only crossed her arms and lifted her eyebrows. When Aiko was of guard, Kagome snatched her and walked over to the well.
`Oh really?' Aiko laughed, but Kagome just smirked `So…if you are Cinderella…what am I?'
`A witch!' the little girl gasped and quickly covered her mouth.
`Aha…so, I'm the big bad witch? And do you know what BIG BAD witches do with little kids such as you?' Kagome poked Aikos nose, while she shook her head.
`They throw them into the well!' Kagome leaned over and dropped her daughter in to the cold darkness, then caught her again just in time, before she could really fall in.
Aiko laughed and happily clapped her hands.

`Souta, Souta! Where is Kagome-chan!?' Mrs. Higurashi questioned her son and tried to knot grandpas tie.
For once, they managed to convince the old stubborn man to get out of his kimono and dress in a real tuxedo, not to mention they even got him to wear a tie, which he refused first, because the old man was sure that the thing was meant for strangling, since his first attempt to tie it around his neck went down the drain.
`She went to get Aiko, mother' Souta said while putting on his jacket.
`Good…we must not keep the guests and the groom waiting no more' Souta nodded in replay, but when he wanted to go get Kagome, he was out run by a man with fear for his own life.
`I'll get her' Grandpa yelled and despite his bad bones, ran over the yard and in to the shrine, almost knocking the door down.
If Kagome knew what was going to happen next, she would have brought Aiko back to the other side, but when grandpa burst in and caught them both off guard, it was already too late.
