Chapter 26

Right now, I’m light in Nonexistent Fairy Tale, and Kagome’s Story, and deep into Do I Loathe Thee?. It’s not my fault…I go for whichever gets me the most reviews.

I got the idea about the little kids from Blue Collar©.

WARNING: Major scene with Kikyou.

And after reading it…I realized there’s hardly, if any, Kagome in this chapter!! O.o Isn’t this story about her?

Sesshomaru groaned inwardly. ‘Is Rin going to tell everyone that story? I mean come on…It wasn’t that big of a deal, was it?’ The demon couldn’t stand all of the looks everyone was giving him. Everyone who working in his house…They were all smiling whenever they looked at him, or smiling and averting their eyes. It seemed as though Rin had gotten to every hired help they had. ‘And I can’t very well fire them all…That would just be rude…Even for me.

“You know Fluffy…” The youkai growled at the hated nickname of his. He glowered at his younger brother standing in the doorway. “Lying is a learned trait.” Now instead of glowering he just looked plain confused.

“What is that supposed to mean, Inuyasha?” Curiosity really got the better of him this time. I mean, normally he wouldn’t care, and then Inuyasha would just go on and tell him anyway. Did that boy ever know when to shut up? No. Did he ever? No. Said boy smirked.

“Well, the great thing about little kids is they haven’t learned how to lie yet.” He left it just hanging in the air. You couldn’t tell, but it was just killing the older man to know what the younger was talking about. Come on, if someone just started saying something, and didn’t finish, you would want to know the rest, wouldn’t you? Unless of course it was stupid, which this wasn’t.

“And the great thing about that is…?” The older tried to convince the younger to continue. He took the bait and ran with it. Finally having a chance to have a conversation with his brother, and insult him at the same time. He mentally ran around gleefully at the opportunity.

The great thing about it is that little kids haven’t learned how to lie yet, so they blurt things out, even when you’re trying to tell them not to. For instance, say there is this slightly overweight woman in the grocery store, or one that is pregnant. The child would probably point at them with wide eyes and say very loudly, ‘Mommy! Look how fat that lady is!’ The mother would try to shush her child, but them being a child wouldn’t listen. ‘No, Mommy! Look! Just look at how huge she is!’ And that would embarrass both of the women, and not the child, correct?” Sesshomaru looked pensive before nodding his head in agreement.

“Okay, then. Well I hope you learn a lesson from this. Your daughter is one of those children. She’s been running around town, because me and Kags took her out, telling everyone she could find, and I quote, ‘My daddy, Sesshomaru, was singing Following the Leader from the Disney® movie Peter Pan©!’ And you know how everyone in this town knows you really well and all? They all, as in every single one of them, laughed! Have fun at work tomorrow!! See ya!!” With that being said, the hanyou exited the room, leaving the demon wide eyed and with his left eye twitching in a freaky way.

He sat like that for a full ten minutes before bellowing at the top of his lungs for his daughter.

From her place in the house, all the way on the other side from Sesshomaru, the little girl heard her name being called loud and clear. Clueless and like the little girl she is, she skipped happily in the direction from whence her father’s voice came. Completely missing the anger and emotion in his voice.

Kikyou had been lying on Kagura’s bed for the past hour and a half. She was starting to get bored, and frankly a little tired of waiting. She was waiting for when Kanna would tell her that Naraku was asleep. She had a mission. She had a plan.

‘Since I can’t have Inuyasha…And I know now he will never want me back…I will do something for him and his little girlfriend. I really do hope they will appreciate what I’m about to do for them…I’ve thought long and hard about this…And I’m going to go through with it!’

A light knocking on the bedroom door alerted her to the fact that Kanna was waiting for her to answer it.

“Come in.” The blandness of her voice rivaled that of even Kanna herself. The door opened and there stood the little girl in all of her so-clean-it-hurts-your-eyes-white glory.

“Kikyou, Naraku’s asleep.” She nodded her head and left to get her own self ready for bed that night.

Kikyou mentally checked that she had everything she would need, and left. She wiped away the warm tears that ran down her cheeks. ‘You can do this…You have to do this…For him…’

Quickly she made her way to Naraku’s house. She stood outside of his bedroom window, letting the rain drench her. She didn’t flinch as the lightning hit, didn’t move as the thunder engulfed all other sounds. She only allowed the sight of Naraku in her mind. He looked so innocent, lying there. As if he had never done any wrong. She scoffed at the mere thought of this man not doing any wrong. That’s all he was…Wrong.

Silently she slipped his window open and slipped into the room. She set a candle on the desk of to the side of the room. The candle was black. The color of mourning. She bowed her head and made a silent prayer to the gods to forgive her for what she was about to do.

How was that? If I get enough reviews, the next chapter will begin where this one left off. Trust me, you are all going to love the next one! : )

Could it be true; the girl will get her fairy tale after all?
