Chapter four:
Sesshomaru watched as Miroku became unconscious, and slumped over to the side on the bed. He was scared, he’d only been scared a few times in his long life, and he hated the feeling. Fear it was such useless thing to him, but it did serve it’s purpose. Kagome told him she was afraid of him when he was first sent to his hut, during the war. She said ‘You looked so strong and confident, like not even the gods could scare you. I was terrified you would do something horrible to me, hurt me in some way. But you didn’t, you were the only one nice to me, caring in your own way. Sweet, and then, that night it was like I instantly loved you, but then I was even more scared you wouldn’t feel the same about me, I was afraid I was just another girl that you helped lose her virginity, like so many I know you’ve had. But you were always kind, and then my father came and I went home, and I was devastated. I thought I’d never see you again, and even if you did come to here after the war was over if we were still standing, they’d never let you in, or kill you if they could. You, who took my dearest brother away from me, but I forgive you, and I know Hector, wherever he is, does too.” Sesshomaru gazed down at his angel sent here just for him, and he was so scared. Terrified of losing her.

Little Kagome led Miroku by the hand towards where she said ‘the bad thing’ was. And he did notice as they traveled there it did seem to become cloudier, like a thick fog everywhere. It was a gray fog, and it seemed to have a mind of it’s own. As the walked through it, the very fog itself seemed to swirl around them and the further they walked into it the faster it swirled. Until it was hard to keep balance, little Kagome gripped his leg, burying her head as far as she could into his robes. Miroku brought a hand to his face trying to shelter his eyes from the whipping fog, trying to see through it, it was like this for several minutes and the more Miroku tried to see the worse his eyes hurt, until he couldn’t stand up straight and bent to kneel next to Kagome wrapping her in a hug, trying to shield her little body from the harsh fog. Then suddenly it stopped, everything stopped. It was a s if time went to a stand still. It was pitch black, except for a sort of spot light on them. Miroku raised his head to look around. He slowly stood, bringing Kagome’s small form with him, holding her as he rested her on his hip and a arm wrapped around her still tense form. He heard light chuckling slowly becoming louder as a silhouette of a woman’s thin form covered by shadows stepped closer to them, the laughing becoming louder and louder with each step. Finally she was within ten feet of them and stopped, as another spot light appeared on her. She was tall for a woman, had platinum lavender hair, aqua marine eyes, with a jagged stripe on either cheek and a sign of a half moon on her forehead, her face features reminded Miroku a lot of Lord Sesshomaru, but how could this person have any relation to his lord?
“Yes you are correct, I am some relation to Sesshomaru, that horrible boy, always rushing off to war to cheat fate. My name is Ashinti (Ash-in-t-ee) goddess of the cheated deaths. And you are Miroku, the lecherous priest if I am not mistaken. How nice to finally meet you in person, this girl has many memories with you in them.”
“What do you want? Why are you doing this Kagome?” Miroku asked carefully, she’s a goddess, must be careful if I don’t want to be cursed by the gods.
“I will not curse you. And from this girl, I want what any mot... well any woman wants, I want her to die, and stay away.”
“Stay away from what?”
“Things, people, ideas, places, this girl was never meant to have this life, she was suppose to die in the war, but she cheated death, am I being the goddess of that such thing have to punish her, also the other gods have sent me to kill her, but you need not know why, the gods will contact her again soon, and I will leave her be...” The goddess’s figure was starting to evaporate or fade away, like it was never even there, until there was nothing left of her, no trace that she had ever been there In the first place. “For now...” They heard her voice in the distance as it too started to fade away y just like her form.

Sesshomaru was getting very impatient, they both had been out for almost twenty minutes now, he was scared. And that scared him even more, when he realized, I’m scared, I’m really scared, scared to lose her, my love. Why didn’t I even tell her I love her? Now it might be too late, no don’t think that. It’s never too late, she just needs to wake up. Feh, me the strongest, best fighter that ever was and ever will be afraid of a little girl, but she could cause me more pain than anything, more than a thousand deaths, I’d rather everyone know me as her husband than being the greatest warrior. Damn, she better be ok monk, other wise there will be WORSE than hell to pay...
Then he saw it, the monk flinch then Kagome moaned, her eye lids fluttering, flicking but not opening. Sesshomaru rushed to her side, as the monk groaned and woke trying to sit up, and fell off the tall bed in the process. Sesshomaru brushed her bangs out of her face as she finally opened her eyes, her ocean blue eyes clouded with grogginess, meeting his sun rise golden eyes filled with love and worry. She gave him a faint smile.
“Don’t mind me, I just broke my neck, trying to save her and got laughed at by a goddess.” Miroku mumbled standing up to rub his sore neck that he landed on. Kagome laughed lightly hearing him, but Sesshomaru didn’t even hear the man, too busy concentrating on his love, his angel.
“Sorry Miroku... and thank you.” Kagome said with a bright smile, she sat up and pulled her self to the head of the bed and burrowed under the covers, bringing them up to her middle stomach. Sesshomaru sat down on the edge of her bed, again brushing her bangs out of her face. Then he slowly leaned over to gently place a chaste kiss on her forehead before standing and walking to he door. He opened the door, waiting in the doorway, he waited there for a moment.
“MONK ” He growled, Miroku coming out of his daze hurriedly and scurried through the open door. Sesshomaru looked back at Kagome one last time. “Get some rest.” He said placing his emotionless mask back on, Kagome gaze a small smile and yawned then nodded. Sesshomaru closed the door, and turned to see the monk waiting for him. Sesshomaru walked right past him, but motioned for the monk to follow. Miroku followed him to the gardens on top of the castle roofs, Miroku bowed to the statues of the gods they passed on the way to the very far edge of the gardens. Sesshomaru stopped hands clasped behind his back to look out at the city from the garden. “You said something about a goddess?”
“Yes, my lord, goddess of cheated deaths...” Sesshomaru turned around with amazing speed, Miroku didn’t see anything but a blur, his mask was still in place, but his eyes conveyed his emotions, total shock. “She was very beautiful, long past waist length platinum lavender hair, aqua eyes, looked a lot like you my lord if I do say so myself, she seemed to know you my lord, quite well it seemed.”
“She should she was only the woman who gave me life.” Sesshomaru growled out, turning back around firmly grasping the railing around the gardens, turning his knuckles white.
“She.. She’s your mother? ” Miroku could have been knocked over with a feather. His mother was a goddess, so the rumor that he was half god was true.
“WAS my mother, not anymore, she is a goddess now, no attachments, no children, unless that child is a god or goddess.”
“So you really are half god? ” Miroku was about to faint, all this time he was in the presence of a half god, he was still honored to work for a lord and king, but a god... wow
“NO. I am full mortal, she became a goddess after I was born.” Sesshomaru muttered staring out at the peasants in the city watching them scurry about like ants, all fooling around. But still hard workers.
“I am sorry my lord, I believe I will take my leave now and let you be with your thoughts.” Miroku got over his shock turning and calmly walked away, no matter how he wanted to run through the halls of the palace yelling, ‘HIS MOTHER IS A GODDESS HIS MOTHER’S A GODDESS ’

“What the hell does she want with Kagome, can’t I ever just be happy, does she always have to make me miserable?” Sesshomaru asked himself as he again gripped the railing in anger.

Ashinti laughed at her son’s figure in a bowl of blessed water, watching him as she rested on her bed eating grapes on Olympus. She watched him a few more seconds, then dipped a tip of her finger in the water clearing the image. She laughed harder falling on her back spread out on her bed. “Foolish boy.” She laughed. She saw how he cared for her after she awoke, he just had to fall in love with a human, just like his father, both vowed never to take a human to bed, but like father like son, I suppose. “He loves that weakling. He could have had any demon, even a goddess, I’ve seen some of the goddesses, daughters of the founding goddesses and gods, drooling over him, watching him fight, bathe, fuck... ridiculous how jealous they were when he came back to Tokyo for that girl after she thought him dead. So jealous when they found them in love and cursed their love for all eternity. Stupid girls.” Ashinti growled as she jumped out of bed to look down at the earth as night came over the sky, as Hermes rode to bring the stars out, and bring night through the sky. Ashinti leaped back on her bed sitting Indian style in front of the bowl of blessed water tapping it, a picture appearing of Kagome dreaming and rolling over in her sleep. “Sesshomaru will become a god and be in his rightful place, and I won’t let you fuck it up for him.” She whispered into Kagome’s dreams smiling as the girl heard it in her dreams and sprang up in bed with a startled expression almost in tears. Ashinti tapped the water clearing the image, then laid back on her bed to sleep to clear her head, it was the only way. “He will be a god.” She whispered to herself then slipped into dreamland.
