A/n: Sorry I know this is super late, but it’s been a hard few weeks, and just doesn’t seem to be getting any better. But I’m going to try and get these chapters out sooner and I hate breaking promises to you guys and for that I am so sorry once again.

Chapter five:

‘Can’t I ever be happy, mother?’ Sesshomaru thinking, while gazing at the gardens. He turned to face the rest of the roof to see many of the god and goddesses statues staring back at him. He gave them all a death glare. ‘Why can’t she leave Kagome out of this thing between us... she has nothing to do with it.’
“Oh yes she does...” He heard through the wind as it blew by. He turned to look over the city beyond the gardens where the wind was blowing from, far off into the distance. He glared as it blew by again and he heard a laugh.

Ashinti awoke suddenly as she heard her son’s thought blow into her room. She smirked at what he was thinking and decided to answer his question.
“Oh yes she does...” She answered chuckling lightly. Hearing his audible growl float into her room like the rest of his thoughts. “If you would just agree to be a god she would go unharmed, besides, she will die eventually, many, many, many years before you, with your demon attributes.” She laughed a little harder as she heard his growl increase, she could just imagine the look on his face.
“Why must you torment me?”
“Because I am your mother and I know the best for you...” She said with a light smile not being able to resist seeing the look on his face, so she tapped her magical liquid his rippled form appearing until the ripples stopped and he stood there with his perfection. “No matter how much you hate it...”

Sesshomaru growled as he felt her magic, he knew she was watching him. ‘Probably using that dumb water trick... it’s so old...’
“It may be, but it is affective, and that is all that matters. Now back to that lovely girl of your’s...”
Sesshomaru started snarling. “Leave. Her. Out. Of. This.”
“I don’t think I can do that, if hurting her is the only way I can get you to so what I want, then that is what I will do... Besides the other gods are very interested in her... she is tainted, but yet remains so pure.” He heard her voice blow in, still filled with merriment. “They don’t like that a mere human, has such a pure heart and the inner light. They want her destroyed, as soon as possible, along with her soul, never to grace any of the three worlds. And it just so happens to go along with my plan, so I helped quicken the plan a little.”
“What did you do to her?”
“Nothing that you can solve. The gods are against you, and her, there is no hope, so why not come and become a god and we will allow her soul to still live, in the underworld.” He could feel her smirk, in her voice. He finally stopped his growling, knowing it was useless. “What will it be Sesshomaru? You become a god and your little plaything will be reincarnated, eventually, able to live again, a happy, healthy life, with you, her own personal god watching over her. Or damn her soul forever, never to be alive again, and disappear forever, as you selfishly stay mere youkai, to live a long lasting life, alone, the choice is yours.” Her voice drifted off into nothingness. He still stood there thinking over her words. He didn’t want to become a god, having to live for all eternity, watching as his one true love give her love, smile, happiness to another. He couldn’t take this, he didn’t know what to do, he rather Kagome live and be happy with another, than his own happiness. He knew if he asked her, she would do the self righteous thing and give her forever lives for his happiness, but he wouldn’t be happy without her.
“Don’t you hate making tough decisions?” He heard a dark inky voice from behind him and turned to see the one he never wished to see. Hades, the god of the underworld, damned by the rest of the gods, to serve the dead for all eternity. He stood there, in all black clothes sagging around him as his fire for hair burned, and he gave Sesshomaru his smirk that killed thousands. Sesshomaru glared back, he knew he hated the gods, and damned them all, like Hades, but that didn’t mean they were allies. “There is another way you know...”
“Another way?” Sesshomaru questioned as the two circled each other.
“Yes, another way, to save her, you love her don’t you? We see everything, everything that you try so hard to hide, we see. You act different around her, like a man in love. It’s pathetic really, all the goddesses stand around watching you all hours of the day. They see how you act with her, and are jealous, deadly jealous. It’s true the gods believe she is too pure and want her destroyed, but the goddesses are just jealous. They want her gone so they may have you. But you only see her, they have tried countless times to get rid of her. Even to become so desperate to try to kill you to make you come to them, but you both are just too strong. So I will make you a deal, I will tell you the way to save your little lover girl.”
“In exchange for what?” Sesshomaru tried not to listen, but the things he was saying were just too tempting.
“You are smart aren’t you, well as all other deals, the other party has to give something up to gain what they want.” Hades’ smirk became wider. “And I being the receiving party would get to choose I desire in exchange and it is quite simple really. All I desire in return is...” Hades made a dramatic pause, as Sesshomaru stared at him, almost anxious, but never would let it show through his mask. “Your eternal servitude. Think about it kid, you have a day, and then it will be too late and you won’t have enough time to save her... your love...” Hades whispered as he turned into a wisp of smoke and drifted away.
Sesshomaru turned back to over look the gardens, his hands clenching the railing, as he frowned. For the first time in his life he didn’t know what to do. “Kagome... love... what do I do?”

A/N: I know this chapter is way shorter than the others too, but I am trying to at least just get a chapter out for you guys, I really don’t want to lose my readers, but it’s been tough and I think I will stop whining now so review and tell me what you think and if you have an suggestions that would be great Thanks for reading byes
