Do I Like Him?

Inuyasha sat on his bed, with the book in hand. For some reason, he couldn't bring himself to read it. All he could think about was what Kagome said. "She want's me to be myself, huh?" He wondered out loud. Suddenly his door burst open. "Ah!" He gasped.

There was laughter from the other side, and Inuyasha knew who did it, although he couldn't see him. "Damn you, Sesshomaru!" He growled. Sesshomaru took a step into his room. "So, did you hit it off with that chick today?" Inuyasha shrugged. "What do you mean by hit it off?"

Sesshomaru smirked a bit. "Did you fuck her?" He asked, in a mocking voice. Inuyasha growled, and threw the book full speed at his brothers head. Sesshomaru just barely dodged the hard cover book.

"So now you're throwing your little love books at me?" He asked, sneering.

"Feh…" Inuyasha said under his breath. "Why the hell are you in my room anyway?"

Sesshomaru seemed to remember, now. "I just wanted to ask you to stay out of my room." He told him, on a more serious note.

"Why should I?" Inuyasha teased, "You're still in my room!"

Sesshomaru shot him a threatening glare. "Sarah's over again." He said, with a sly grin.

Inuyasha sighed. "I see…" He said, sarcastically, "Don't worry Sesshomaru! If there's anything I care about it's you and Sarah's privacy!"

Sesshomaru just rolled his eyes, and slammed the door shut. Once he did Inuyasha let out a small sigh of relief, and fell back onto his bed.

So, him and Kagome were friends? Did that mean he could call her? Probably not. Not yet. He let out a restless sigh. He wanted to, though. He wanted to call her…just to find out how her night was going. He didn't, though. It would be to soon! But, then again-

His cell phone rang before he could reach a conclusion. He checked the number before answering.

"Hey, Miroku!" He greeted, with an annoyed voice, "What do you want?"

There was a silence on the other line for a minute. "I want to know how your little date went?" He said, in a playful voice. Inuyasha let out a small sigh.

"Fine." He said.

"By fine, do you mean we had a nice talk, or we stopped at her place, and I showed her the time of her-"

"Miroku, shut the hell up!" Inuyasha growled, "Kagome's not like that!"

"But you are?" Miroku taunted. Inuyasha didn't answer. Instead, he hung the phone up.

Kagome sat on her bed, restless. She had been on the same problem for twenty minutes. It wasn't that she couldn't figure it out, it was that she had other things on her mind. 'Why did I do what I did?' She wondered.

She fiddled with the pencil in her fingers. "I don't like him like that!" She reminded herself out loud. "Sis?" Sota's voice made her jump. "Eek!" She shrieked, "Sota, what are you doing in here!" He was sitting in her doorway. "Who don't you like, like that?" He asked, ignoring her question. "NOBODY!" She growled, "Mind your own business!" He pouted for a minute, but walked into the hall and slammed her door.

She let out a small sigh. 'Get out of my head, Inuyasha!' Her mind screamed. She shoved her math homework away. There was no point in trying to finish. She rolled onto her back, and got lost in thought. 'There's no way I like Inuyasha like that!' She reminded herself.

She looked at her window. "Though, I wouldn't mind him here with me right now…" She sighed. She mentally scolded herself. 'How could I say that!' She almost laughed, when she realized that she was yelling at herself!

She jumped up startled when her phone rang. "H-Hello?" She answered.

"Hey there!" It was Sango.

"Hey, Sango!" She greeted. "What's up?"

"Not much…" She said, "Me and 'the gang' are going out tonight. Want to come?" Kagome stared at her unfinished homework. "Uh…Sure." She said.

"Great!" Sango cheered, "We're going to the mall!"

Kagome knew she should finish her homework, but it had been so long since she went out and had a good time.

When she hung up, she decided to take a quick shower before her friends showed up. When she got out of the shower, she threw on a white halter top, and a blue plaid mini skirt. She looked good!

Soon enough, her friends were outside of her house honking the horn. She grabbed a light jacket, and ran outside. She stopped on her front steps when she saw the car. It was the same one that Inuyasha had. Literally!

She waved to her friends who were sitting in the car. Sarah, Sango, Eri, and Yuka. She shrugged, as she ran to the car. 'Guess Ayumi couldn't make it…' She figured. When she opened the door to the backseat she saw Sesshomaru, Inuyasha's brother in the driver's seat.

She caught him glance at her through the rare view mirror, but he quickly turned his head. "Kagome!" Sarah cried, turning in the front seat, "This is my boyfriend, Sesshomaru!" Kagome nodded at him, when he turned to look at her. "My brother's date?" He asked.

All of her friends turned to her, and she turned a deep shade of red. "Uh…I-" She began. "Kagome, you never told us you were dating his brother!" Eri shrieked. "I'm not!" Kagome defended, "We're just friends!" Sesshomaru sneered, and drove off.

Kagome sat quietly the whole ride there. 'Me and Inuyasha…dating?' Why did the thought of that make her so squirmy. She looked up at Inuyasha's brother. Strange…he looked a lot like Inuyasha, but he didn't act one bit like him.

Finally the car pulled up to the mall, and Sesshomaru gestured for the girls to pile out of his car. "Bye, Sessho!" Sarah cried, leaning in to kiss him.

He gave her a quick peck, and the girls flew out of the car. They watched him drive off, and went into the mall.

"So, Kagome." Yuka said, in a playful tone, "…You never told us you were getting friendly with a guy!" Kagome turned red, all over again. "Would you shut up!" She said, with a slight laugh. Her friends all stared in her direction. "Do you like him more than Kouga?" Eri asked.

"I don't like Kouga!" She cried, in her defense. "That wasn't the question!" Sango teased, nudging Kagome's side. Kagome half smiled. "Well…of course I do." She said, "I would choose anyone over Kouga!" They all laughed.

They walked to the food court, and ordered some tacos from taco bell. When they sat down, Kagome's friends started bothering her again. "His name is Inuyasha, right?" Sarah asked.

Kagome nodded. "Yeah, he's a real sweetie!" She said, "Today, when he was at my house I gave him my 'famous sandwiches' and he even pretended to like them!" She laughed at the memory, but when she looked up she saw that her friends were all staring.

"W-What, now?" She asked, crossing her arms across her chest. They all just shrugged. "Uh…nothing!" Sango chirped, and they all continued eating. Kagome felt herself blushing. 'Okay…so maybe he's a little cute.' She admitted to herself, 'So what? We're only friends…he wouldn't want anything more.'

When her friends dropped her off that night she went straight to bed. She didn't care about her homework. Not tonight. She had so much on her mind.

All she could think about was Inuyasha. Would she see him tomorrow? Would she sit with him in the library, period four? Would she sit next to him during detention? Suddenly she realized something. Kikyou and Kouga are going to be there!

'Just great!' She thought, sarcastically.

Bobthecow: I don't intend on having Inuyasha be the polite shy guy to tell you the truth. Inuyasha is really a lot like his character in the anime, just he's a little different around Kagome. He doesn't know how to act around a girl. He's more like the average guy…his personality will be more clear in the future.
