Chapter 8
Haunting Dream
The wind blew his hair behind him as he sat upon his white steed, letting the ocean breeze cool down his temper. His father had just sent him to the village they use to live in. Where she ran away from.
He still hadn't figured what had happened to make him want to find her. He looked towards a house on a cliff overlooking the sea. The house her mother lived in. The house he was checking up on as part of his orders from his father. Then he would go back to that village. The one he had moved from only a month after her flee.
He took one last look at the rising sun, and then turned a galloped towards the house. The house was a bright white with black shutters. It had plenty of rooms for guest. And he would certainly be one for the night.
He slowed the house as he came up to the stables beside it. He placed his horse, Arashi, in a clean stall and ordered the stable boy to feed her. He walked into the house and into the study. He knew he was expected. It was really his house now. His father was in his deathbed from wounds of a hired assasain.
He scowled at the memory of it. The assassain had been caught and hanged. He had witnessed it. Alone in the courtyard, at the dead of night, just a week ago.
As daylight streaked in the window, a lady entered the study with an air of worry. She had worried ever since her daughter left. "Lord Sesshomaru. What brings you here?" her voice drifted, as though not really in the room.
"On orders from my father."
"Is he going to live?" Her voice held sorrow for his father, they had become very good friends over the years.
"Not likely," he replied simply as though it didn't really matter. She nodded and turned to leave, relizing that he did not want any company. But just before she closed the door, she turned and ask one hopeful question.
"Have they found her, yet?" He shook his head no and she left him in peace. He decided he would travel to town and see what the government was up to.

She was running. Away from someone or something, she didn't know for sure. Whatever it was, it was coming quickly towards her. Suddenly she bumbed into the them and fell on her backside.
"Running are we?" he said, sounding angry.
"Why are you angry at me? What did I do?!" she yelled desperated to the figure that was hidden in shadows.
"Because you're running. You're running away from me." The figure stepped out of the shadows.
"S-s-sesshoamru?" He smiled sadly.
"Yes, Kagome. I'm waiting for you. You cannot run from me much longer." He reached out and touched her cheek lightly. "I will find you. I will find you, Kagome."

Kagome shot up in bed. She was panting heavily. She reached a hand up to her cheek. 'I can still feel it. It's like it was real...'
Kagome shakily got up out of bed and got ready to dock with the rest of the crew.
