"I'm sorry… but I just want to let you know that I will never forget you, InuYasha." She choked out through the tears as she placed the Jewel in his hands. They had finally finished it. Naraku was dead after a harsh battle. Miroku and Sango were getting closer and closer after Sango had lost Kirara to her own dead brother. But he had been put to rest in a cemetery outside Kaede's village.

Since the jewel was finally finished, Kagome would be going home and the well would be forever sealed. Kagome was ready, she had done what she set out to do, now it was time for her to go home for good. Every second she stayed after everything was finished broke a piece of her heart off. She knew she would be leaving InuYasha and her best friends, but it was time.

"You don't have to go! TAKE THE JEWEL!!" InuYasha shoved it back and jumped away from her. "You can come back, you don't have to give it to me."

Kagome's heart wasn't anymore. It took all her strength to say goodbye to him. Shippou was the hardest until she had to say it to InuYasha. She knew this would happen so she came prepared.

"In the beginning of this I told you I would collect the shards and then give you the Shikon no Tama for you to use. I want you to make a wish on it InuYasha." She held out her hand with the Jewel in it as fresh tears found their way down her cheeks.

InuYasha's hand went to hers and he held as hard as he could with the jewel there. "I… I don't want you to leave me, Kagome. Take the jewel… I want you to have the wish." InuYasha closed her hand around the jewel and he embraced her gently.

Kagome pulled away from him and ran to the well. She had already said enough goodbyes. She had to go…now. On her way she dropped the jewel in the soft, green grass of summer and jumped into the well.

But before she could go, InuYasha screamed to her, "I will always be waiting for you to come home!"

InuYasha fell to his knees and cried.

Kagome was in the same position on the other side of the well. InuYasha was her first real love and now she would never see him again.

InuYasha picked up the jewel and headed over to the well, thinking that she if she hadn't sealed the well yet he could get to her. InuYasha held onto the Jewel tightly as he jumped in after her.
