After the first two months of residing in the castle, Zoë and Rin had gotten along well, especially right from the start. As a matter of fact, Zoë had no problem educating her everything she needed to know, and she had managed to help Rin learn what she needed by learning. However, often the time, when Zoë deemed that they needed a break, she would mischievously chase Rin around or even try to tickle her down, and yet, she eventually allow Rin to go see the demon lord whenever she needed, depending on how much she had already learned.

However, Zoë's crush had grew twice as much through those past months and she had often the time found herself drawing pictures of him, or even daydream when she would have a moment alone with her lustful fantasies. She often blushed when she realized what she was doing and blamed herself for thinking such thoughts as that. It was never going to happen, or so, she secretly hoped, for she doesn't even know what the future brings. For once, she had peace ever since her arrival to the castle, there were no demons to fight with, although she didn't want to grow any weaker-and she knew that the scars she now held on her body was becoming intense and excruciating every time she bumped herself in certain areas or when others touched her when it is not a gentle touch.

Despite her scars, with each night given away, she had kept giving the traditional good-night to the demon lord, and knew she was starting to like it, although she held it behind her sharp exterior. After she had said a good-night to him, she would often go to her room for a while until she was sure that everyone else in the castle was fully asleep; then she would go alone into the battlefield that was used for training and begin a training session alone, ignoring her pains as much as possible. After all, she didn't want to grow weak and fat (not that she's getting any) for not doing any physical activity.

Zoë now ran across the castle, while she tried to keep herself out of Rin's sight as she brought some stuff over to a certain room that was going to be used as a special room. Ever since she had heard when Rin's birthday was, she had quickly started thinking up ideas of how to surprise her and when she does, she began to work right away, with some help from 'close' servants whom she considered them a friend.

She had managed to get the room decorated nicely in an earth-like theme; after getting the room done for the past few days, she had, just now, begun to crash into the kitchen and gave every servant who works in the kitchen an instruction on what to make. Some of them were confused, but yet she assured them that it would be the best they can make.

One of the servants she noticed was growing a dislike for her, and she often wondered why. Whenever the demon lord was not around, the particular female servant had acted cold and distant toward her, and often the time she would send a glare, and yet when he is around, she hides her cold exterior by masking up with a sweet look and a carefree attitude. Zoë had never said anything, although she figured that the servant was jealous or something, but she wasn't sure why, until one of the other servant, a close friend of hers secretly told her the reason. When she did, she blushed and was glad that she was alone with the servant when no one else could witness her blush.

Now, she's in the kitchen, helping other servant making some food while she hoped not to be found by others.

Sesshoumaru had spent the last months going over affairs of his Lands, and trying to avoid Zoe, which was not an easy task considering that she was teaching Rin.

Rin herself was getting much better on manners. On that he had to admit Zoe had been good at, she had gotten Rin to obey her. That had impressed Sesshoumaru. Not many did that. With Tevian was doing much better as well. He was starting to learn the hard movements of combat and personal fighting. Sesshoumaru himself told the pup that he had real power; he just needs to learn how to use it. He was sure that the pup would be a powerful one in the future.

Of course it all went back to Zoë. He was amazed with her time after time; and he did not like. No one got to him...No one... He could not allow it...But he was starting to notice things about her, like the fact that she starred at him, when she thought he was occupied with other things; and the fact that her scent often changed when she was around him. Of course, he did not even act like he had smelled it, specially after he saw her blush after getting it under control. He had thought about it often in his study...He knew females found him attractive. Of course he knew, he was not stupid or blind. It was another matter all together whether they found him attractive because of his power and the ability to give them powerful pups..Or because they truly cared for him. For dog demons that mate for life, that was an important fact, that had to be established, you could not mate for just powerful pups, although that was important. Especially for a Lord that had to produce heirs. But Sesshoumaru knew that if and when he mated, his mate had to love him, he was a hard person to live with, and even he admitted that, although only to himself. So it would take real love to put up with him.

Right now he sat in his study...Supposedly going over the Northern Lands agreement. But he found himself thinking of her again, When he caught himself doing that, he got up growling loudly, he hit his desk splitting it down the middle. He walked away from it, going towards the window. He heard his personal maid come in and gasp at the broken desk.

"My Lord....." She said questioningly.

"Get some one to clean that up." Was all he said, not even looking back at her.

"Yes, My Lord." He heard as her footsteps left the room.

He went back to looking out into the garden. He spotted Rin playing with Tevian, Zoe was not with them, instead Jaken ran behind them, trying to get them to calm down. He figured the toad demon was now saying something like 'So many years of loyal service and this si the thanks I get. ' But Sesshoumaru did not care at the moment all he wanted to know was why his demon had taken such a liking to Zoe at such a rapid pace. he stood there starring of into space, when the other maids came in and started to clean up the mess.

" Get the craftsman to make me a new one as soon as possible. " He said to his personal maid. " Also..Be in my bedroom tonight. " He finished giving her the look that she knew told her to leave. He heard the doors close as they all finished and left. He smelled the lingering scent of his happy maid, and grinned evilly as he thought of it. Tonight he would teach his demon, who was in charge. So he continued to think about it, starring out into space in front of his window.

From morning to noon, Zoë had ran around in the kitchen while she tried to get each servants to do the proper way of cooking or making in each particular food-it was hard, indeed, but no matter, all they needed was a little education on how or what to do. It only took her a while to finally get the servants to do it correctly and they promptly cheered her for her help and her time to educate them-which they were pleased to have someone at least be kind to them, unlike others.

Just as Zoë was about to add something, her hand grabbed something empty and she realized she had forgotten one thing, the spice which it was the main thing to add the taste in a particular food she was making. She let out a scowl, and smacked herself for forgetting one thing. With a sigh, she let the others know, "I'll have to go to the village again, I won't be long."

The kitchen servants nodded their head as she left in a rush straight out of the front of the castle through the gate that led her to the village. While she was there, she also remembered to buy something else for Rin, she remembered that Rin loved flowers and she figured that it would at least make her proud.

"Let's see…I'll take that spice in two bottles please."

"Whateveh you like, milady!" The merciful red-face demon grinned widely as he handed her the bottle and watched her strode off into the nearby forest. Slowly, his grin curled into a snarl, his face changed into something dark, skin covered in silky, but ruff surface.

It didn't take that long for Zoë to sense another, something she had wished to never encounter, but now it was here. She frowned in thought while she picked out some flowers and wrapped it up with unusual, but vibrate wrapper she had just recently brought from the moment she entered the village.

Just as she got on her knees, her head jerked forward as her pupils dilated with her sensory grew alerted. She froze where she stood, her hand in mid-air for the next few seconds. Something was behind her, and she wasn't sure what, but she knew it was there to at least assault her or have her head if 'that thing' knew who she really was.

As the seconds passed by, she swiftly turned and found herself sliding across the ground head-on with smokes floating upward. The one who had attacked her was dressed in dark clad, although his face was completely covered; only his eyes are revealed. He landed with elegant, both arms spread out with two bladed swords revealed in sight.

~Damn…that guy's quick. Best be on my guard.~

Zoë thought to herself as she scowled, although she masked her grimace expression when she felt her scarred area began to throb in pain. She stood up very slowly, her movement now transformed to that of a panther motion; she lowered her head as she snarled. Why not change? It should be a cinch.

But she found herself unable to do so, her eyes widened in shock. What the hell just happened? She took a few steps back, while she tried to command herself to transform, but she found that she could not. This guy must've done something to her and he seemed to be laughing. Menacingly.

Shocking as it may seem, she had found her match in this state she was in, and the duo had set off into a brutal battle, each taken blows, although she had taken it the most.

Sesshoumaru looked out onto the village from the window, sensing something not quite right. He moved from his study, giving orders to the guards to keep everyone inside, It was then that the guards told him that Lady Zoë had gone out.

~ Could it be her? The one I'm sensing the trouble from? Nooo...That is impossible....That would mean...........~

He couldn't even finish it in his mind. He moved through the halls, finally getting to the outside, he took to the air, but not before telling Tevian to get inside with Rin. Tevian did as he was told. Sesshoumaru looked down at his castle and saw the shield go up. With him sure that his castle was safe, he flew towards the village.

Once he got there he saw the fight...

Zoë was clearly losing. He growled loudly...Pure rage swimming through his veins...The only thing running through his mind was ~Mine~ and ~ In danger~ His red eyes focused on the shadowed being, as he let out another growl.

Finally after much skillful control...Sesshoumaru got a hold of his demon...He looked at the man again, as he gracefully landed in the streets of the village...

"I do not know who you are. But this 'Sesshoumaru' will not allow this in his lands. LEAVE NOW!" He said the first part had started in his usual emotionless non-caring although very authorative tone, but the end had gotten rage filled.

Zoë and the unknown stranger had continued to fight, although it was clear that Zoë had taken most of the blows and she, often found herself sliding through the ground over and over until she got fed up with it, despite her worse condition, especially when she felt herself going into shock due to a excruciating burden she still held.

The last hit she had taken, she crashed onto the ground, head-on before she rolled down and collided with a nearby building. Smoke began to rise and flooded around her body. The stranger, known as Banik turned his masked head toward the demon lord, his left eye quirked insidiously as he slowly flexed his arms casually before he turned around to face him.

"Excuse me Milord, but this business is none of yours." He bowed gracefully before he turned around to attack once more, although he found Zoë to be nowhere found nearby the collided building. He narrowed his eyes and he let out a hissing sound until he felt himself crashed right onto the ground from behind and turned his head just in time to find Zoë ready a launch one of her Sai set down at him.

He melted himself into the ground and Zoë only stabbed right onto the ground instantly, "Ugh! Sesshoumaru, just leave already!" She urgently shouted, knowing what the situation was about to turn. From the moment she fought Banik, she finally found out that he had what she feared the most, the stone. Oniishi.

As she continued to shout and was about to explain, she was sent flying backward across the ground once more, forming a trail as she went along until she stopped herself by stabbing the ground with two Sai sets of hers. However, she felt herself grabbed quickly by the collar and picked up. She now faced to face with Banik who gleamed wickedly at her and gave her another greeting simply by licking from the side of her eye down to her cheek, nearly close to her lips as she growled in disgust until she used her Sai to attack, and yet she only received a blow right onto her rib knee-on where she had received a scar.

Her eyes widened, her pupils slowly fading as she gasped for air while she tried to regain her self-control over the burdens.

Sesshoumaru growled loudly when they both dismissed him as if, he was not of importance. He moved at his customary light speed, and used Toukijin to cut the demon from behind, making a huge really deep cut in his back.

" These are my Lands. Lowly snake demon.... I will not tolerate talk like that...From filth like you." He said growling, while his eyes glowed red and he bared his fangs.

He swung Toukin again this time at his hands. Trying to make him let go of Zoë, not liking at all that he had licked her. But trying to make sure that no one noticed that.

Banik let out a deep shriek when he felt the cut slashed down at his back, although he had remained in his place until his trained eyes caught sight of the sword aimed for his hands where he still held Zoë in place.

He managed to let go of his hold on Zoe and jumped backward away from the demon lord and the demoness with a snake-like grin, with his tongue darted from his mouth once or twice. "Who said I was filth? I happen to be of a high servant for my…lord." He hissed slightly as he moved side-way, his head curved its way from left to right as he read his enemies carefully.

"Then your master has no taste at all." Sesshoumaru said staying put and waiting his next move.

Slowly, with his right hand, Banik pulled out a stone as he sneered at the demon lord, apparently, he had noticed the lord's dislike when he had licked Zoë. This was something new for him to inform his lord of and knew the information could be useful. However, he was not going to leave and not have fun at all.

"Did you know…that such race as hers can be easily controlled?" He bared his fangs as he hissed menacingly, and he uttered a word in foreign language as Zoë who had been lying on the ground, suddenly got on her knees, her eyes widened with no sign of life in her eyes, although tears threatened to scroll down her cheeks.

He spoke once again and found Zoë ready to use her telekinetic once again, despite the critical condition she was in, she was, by word, forced to what she had been commanded to do so. She had picked Sesshoumaru up and proceeds to throw him across just as she pulled out her specialized whip, slowly walking toward him with the whip slashed dangerously at her side.

Sesshoumaru stood after the throw from Zoë. He was in shock but did not show it. He eyed Zoë and noticed the tears and the life less eyes, at once understanding what the snake demon had said. He looked at the snake demon and scowled lightly before putting on his emotionless mask on. He used his light speed again and moved passed Zoë, hitting her in the back of the head, knocking her unconscious.

Then he moved to the snake demon in one swift hit cut him down the middle his front side. Watching as the blood came when the wound from the back joined the one from the front.

"You are indeed filth....To use a female to do your job. You should have enough bravery to stand up to me your self." He said as the blood poured from Banik's body.

Banik stood there, choked by the fact that he felt himself sliced into two, although he had once again, mischievously, yet darkly grinned at him. With his body split into two, there were two Banik who stood there cackling until he heard a voice in his head.

He narrowed his eyes and sneered, "You should be careful who you call filth; you just might end up in trouble." Two Baniks spoke at the same time before their body was engulfed in a flame of black fire with the stone in his hand cracked to pieces, released its hold on Zoë who had just recently passed out.

Banik now arrived in the court where his lord now sat in the high throne who stared at him intensely, his eyes narrowed. "Well?" He spoke gruffly while two Baniks formed together as one and bowed once again.

"Lord Yuma, I have found Zoë's whereabouts. She's living with a lord named Lord Sesshoumaru and to my point of view, he had seem to taken his likings toward her." "Oh really?" Yuma rested his head on his right hand, his left eyebrow arched in curiosity, although he smiled somewhat darkly, "Looks like someone's interested in my girl. Anyways, find Zarek, immediately!"

Banik bowed without question and he slithered off into darkness to continue his quest on another being, Zoë's father.

Sesshhoumaru looked at where the snake demon had stood, but was now gone.

" Hmpht.. We will see who's in trouble when we next meet!" He said to no one in particular. After he moved his hand over his hair, pushing it behind his pointed ear, he turned to look at Zoe's body. His demon made him do another growl when he saw her condition.

Sesshoumaru moved to Zoë's body, and picked her up gently with his good arm, while his tail took care of the rest of her body. Moving fast he headed to his castle, entering through the shield with out a problem. He moved quickly and entered his room by a window, calling the maid the minute he entered. The maids came in immediately and gasped when they saw Zoë's condition.

"Do not stand there... Go get a healer! NOW!" He ordered as he gently laid Zoë in his own bed of pillows. The maids moved quickly out of the room, when they realized the Lord was not in a good mood.

During the next couple of hours the healer came...and did what he could for Zoë's wounds...Sesshoumaru had stayed in the room, and had not allowed anyone else to enter, save for the healer of course. This had put all the servants in the castle to talk...They where all sure now...Zoë was going to be the next 'Lady of the West'. They just hoped their Lord realized it soon.

As for Sesshouamru himself, he scowled in one end of the room; standing by the window he had come in from, thinking about the snake demon that had attacked Zoë, and about how he had been able to control her.

In that manner he awaited Zoë to return to that land of the awake. His room lay lighted with candles, their light showing the dark purple painted ceilings, and the elaborated paintings and murals of his family on the wall. While Zoë herself lay in the center of the room, in a one foot deep squared hole that was filled with pillows mainly dark colors.

As Sesshoumaru turned and looked back, he was surprised...He looked at her as she laid there among his pillows...and she looked like the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Now he just stood there watching her sleep, his demon praying that she would be alright.

Deep within the dark sleep, Zoë had fought to regain consciousness, although every time she came nearer, she could feel an inch of mild pain and slowly it became too intense for her to even comprehend it. Although she did not want to stay in the darkest sleep and fought her way toward the light.

She moved her head side-way, her chin tilted slightly as she whimpered when she realized that she was in pain, despite the fact that the healer had already came and fixed her up. With her eyes gradually opened up, she once again, fought to regain her clear vision until she realized she was not in a room she thought to be, it was someone else's room. She looked on with confusion while she tried to ignore the pain in her body, although the paintings had caught her attention and she looked down to find herself wrapped in bandages in some areas.

She lifted one hand up with efforts and watched it convulsed and she simply let it dropped back onto the bed as she turned her head to find Sesshoumaru watching her. She didn't even scowl, nor did she retort any remarks, she only stared right back until she lowered her eyes. "Am I in your room?" She fought to try and speak, although she found it difficult to speak, especially when the bastard had grabbed her by her neck and held it so tight that she couldn't even speak well enough.

Sesshoumaru watched intently as she regained consciousness, but kept quiet until she spoke in that low voice.

"I brought you here after the battle. I needed to make sure you would get well." After saying it he realized what he had said. "Rin and Tavien would be very sad if they lost you." He finished hoping she would buy it, not being able to take his eyes of her. Deep in them you could see the anger he still had that she was hurt, and the worry he had gone through.

Even though he could not get close to her, partly a fault of his demon, after all he had purposely hurt her, even if it was to save her life, try explaining that to instinct. His inner demon would not let him forget it, as deep knife-like pains hit him. He covered it very well, a mask of perfection hiding everything.

Zoë was lying on his bed, while she had listened, although with her eyes right on him, she had been watching him intensely, while she tried to read him. For the past few weeks, she had blamed herself for not reading others as she should before she made any quick judgment, her, being an artist, should be able to read others, and now, she wasn't going to make a mistake. Remembering the first day she had came here and the moment she had looked into his eyes, she was surprised to see what she hadn't expected and now, she was doing it again, wondering what it is in store.

Once she looked into his eyes, the only thing she could do was to give a sincere smile, she couldn't find any sarcastic retort nor could she find any way to break off what she was experiencing. Enough is enough, either she take it or lose it. However, she was having doubts, although she could bide her time before truth was to be told.

"I know they would be…but I didn't want you or the others to be involved what I am already in. Can't afford anyone else I love to die anymore." She shut her eyes close, turned her face the other way subtly as she coughed slightly, a tinge of tears threatened to come down once more.

Sesshoumaru watched her, and then raised an eyebrow when she mentioned love.

~ Love??? For me???~

" You should not worry about me...I can take care of myself...You also forget it was my choice to go and save you. " He said this time not realizing the meaning of what he had said as he looked at her, his mind still going through all that had happened.

He looked at her, she still looked as beautiful as ever. His demon giving soft growls in approval, in total two of those growls came out, before Sesshoumaru realized and controlled his vocal cords.

Zoë hasn't moved her head until she opened her eyes when she heard what Sesshoumaru had said, until she comprehended the meaning of it. For once, she felt warmth washed over her, and knew that either she say it or it's never going to come.

Once more she had given off a small, but a simple smile when she had secretly heard his soft growls. She finally turned her head, although she hasn't looked at him directly just yet, "Sesshoumaru, I have a question…" A few seconds had gone by, until she had looked up and stared straight into his eyes, "Do you have any feelings for me?"

Sesshoumaru's eyes went wide at her question. She was foward...He was not used to it. But his demon liked it. Of course he realized his demon would like almost anything she did.

"My demon finds you worthy........." He said, but did not want to get too much into it, he turned side ways from her and looked out the window. " I am sorry that I hit you. My demon did not like it at all. Are you well?"

He asked still not looking at her. Not being able to. No one was allowed to see his feelings, but his demon would not let him move. It seemed to want to let Zoë watch him like this, making Sesshoumaru start to hate his instinct.

Zoë was silenced when he had spoken and she wondered if himself, the real one, finds her worthy as well. Wearing her chemise or known as a night gown, she finds it somewhat easy to move in it, while she struggled to get onto her side with much as a grimace on her face as her rib struck a sharp, piercing pain throughout her body. She lightly coughed once more and finally she rested comfortably on her side with pillows under her. A pool of satin hair flowed over her sensuous body as she kept her eyes on the demon lord, while she tried to read him once again.

She hasn't responded to his question so quickly, although she had bided her time for a few minutes. "At least I'm not dying." She snuggled against the bed of pillows ever so lightly, "What about yourself?" She hoped he knew what she was inquiring.

Sesshoumaru kept looking out the window, even after he heard her cough.

"You should stay still." He said quieting again, after some careful thought he spoke again.

"I am not sure. You confuse me. But my demon seems to have gotten to know you enough to want to mate with you already. That confuses me even more. " He said not looking scared at all, even though inside he was. Although he wouldn't admit for anything.

" Would you know why my demon seems so attracted to you? " He asked now looking at her.

"Maybe I'm different from others?" Despite her ordeals, she had, at the moment, purred lightly with a small grin, "What is your opinion?"

Sesshoumaru looked at her, her friendliness now giving him some breathing room from the pain. Finally it seased all together. He moved closer to her, looking down at her in all her beauty.

" I do not know. The first time i felt him feel this way, was when you answered back to me that first time. Then he kept at it. The more wrongs you do the more he seems to like you... "

He said now feeling more free with her, althought he did now why. But he didn't have enough power or want to fight his demon anymore.

She sank down on the bed of pillows more comfortably than she ever felt for some odd reasons, despite the fact that her body had soothed for a while, for she hasn't moved and her eyes were on the demon lord throughout the whole time. When she had noticed him watching her differently than he had been, both of her cheeks blushed lightly and didn't even make any efforts to stop it from happening, nor did she have any energy to do so.

"It's apparent that you do have a wild side, Sesshoumaru." Unexpectedly, her indigo eyes gleamed lightly, somewhat wickedly while she watched him, that is, until she looked down. "You're different from others I met. Many other men…don't have courage nor do they have any control. They're like little babies, always in a tantrum."

Sesshoumaru looked at her blush, and grinned... "I don't think anyone has ever called me wild before."

"And I know I am different...I have to be." He said now moving to her side and sitting by the pillows where she laid. "I'll have the healer come back; those cloths look like they need changing.

He finished and called for the maids. His own maid coming in, when she saw that picture. She scowled. Sesshoumaru didn't see it though, he was busy making sure her wounds where not still bleeding. The maid came to him, and he told her to go get the healer. She bowed and walked out of the room, scowling as she got to the outside hall.

When she felt the demon lord sat down next to her, her blush had turned redder just slightly a bit more, ntil she calmed down when he had commented about her cloths. She looked down at her own cloths and realized it was stained red; apparently they were bleeding only a little, at least thankfully.

She looked up to find the very same maid who had looked at her strangely and now she was scowling once more. She pondered when she left and looked up at Sesshoumaru. "Uh…I think your maid is…jealous?"

Sesshoumaru finally smelled the scent of anger in the room, after the maid left. He looked back at Zoë and grinned. "No one would dare hurt you, while you are here. They know I would kill them for that." He said realizing too late what he had said. He turned and looked at the out the window.

She had remained in her place, on her side, although she was facing him with her eyes upward, watching his expression, and yet, more importantly, his eyes. She blinked once or twice when she realized what he had just said. It was obvious, he did have feelings for her, although he didn't really want to show it that much.

With a small smile and efforts, she placed one arm across his waist as she pushed herself forward, placing her head on his chest, although she was ignoring the pains she received from moving, with little grimace on her face, and yet she still smiled.

"Don't tell me you can be shy as well." She purred lightly, and yet she didn't even look up, somewhat nervous to see what his reaction may be toward her comment and her action.

Sesshoumaru looked up to her immediately at her comment, but then found her with her head on his chest. He did not even know how she moved with out him noticing. That was another sign to him that he was spacing out. He growled to himself at that. "I am not shy! Hmpht!" He finished.

A whisk of temptation surged throughout her body when she realized what she felt is what she cannot hold back. She let out an alluring purr while she snuggled herself closer with a sleek grin, "If so…" She looked up, mischief gleamed in her eyes with other emotions swirled by in as well, "Why not give me a kiss?" She knew what she was doing, after all, she wanted to see what would happen if she was ever kissed by him.

Sesshoumaru looked down at her, and grinned. "I do not think you are in any condition to be starting anything right now." He said while grinning at her, while his tail massaged her back pains.

Zoë blinked and pouted when she had received none. She slightly whined, "A small one would've done best, party pooper." She arched her left eyebrow once more when she felt her back being massaged and she looked over her shoulder to find his tail massaging her back gently. "That's…soothing." She let out a soft sigh; her body began to relax peacefully on him, still with faint blush on both cheeks.

Sesshoumaru grinned when he found her relaxed in his arms, "Glad you are enjoying it."

"Sleep! The healer will be here soon." He said as he made the massages more delicate and soothing, to get her to sleep.

Zoë let out a soft yawn, her eyelids slowly drooping while she glared at him who grinned in return, "…Fine, daddy." She spoke sarcastically. Slowly she drifted off into a lustful dream, with her body relaxed even more, and somewhat limp in her sleep.
