A/N: I don't own Inuyasha...damn those stupid lawyers...(sighs) this is getting old.
Inuyasha opened his eyes slowly and sniffed the air. "Kagome?" he yawned. She didn't answer. He smelled the salty smell of blood and looked down. There was a large trail of blood leading from where she had been lying next to him the night before going out the door. He stood up quickly and ran, following it to the bathroom. He opened stopped and opened the door slowly, afraid of what he might find. He looked around the bathroom and saw that it was covered with blood. On the mirror was the word 'WHY?' written in blood. He looked down to see Kagome laying in a large puddle of blood. He knelt down slowly and lifted her motionless body up so that she was leaning against him. He moved his ear to her chest and listened. There was no heart beat. He pulled back immediately and looked into her open eyes as they looked back at him with fear.
"What could have done this to you?" He looked down at the hole in her chest and a tear fell down his face. "Kagome!" He hugged her close to his body.
"Inuyasha!" He jumped and tried to back away as the body he had thought to be dead, grabbed him by the shoulders and began shaking him violently. "Inuyasha! Wake up!"
He sat up quickly and looked around. He was back in his bedroom and Kagome was sitting next to him on his bed staring at him. "Are you okey?" She watched him as his breathing began to even out.
"What happened?" He looked at her chest. She was completely fine.
"You started breathing really hard and you grabbed me. I tried to make you let go of me, you wouldn't let go!" she started to get worried. "Are you sure you're okey?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," he said shakily. "Go get dressed. I'll meet you downstairs."
Kagome looked up at the clock and her look became one of deep concern. "Inuyasha, its two in the morning."
"Right," he stood up and began walking out of the room. "You go back to sleep. I'm going to go, uh, see if there's any ibuprofin."
"Inu-" the door closed. She sat there for a few seconds before following. She walked out of the room and followed him to the top of one of the staircases and watched as he walked down it. She then padded to a corner and looked around it to see him in the kitchen. He flipped on one of the lights and sat down, rubbing his head.
After a few seconds, she moved closer. "I can hear you!" he growled softly. "You can come out I'm not mad." He watched as she reluctantly walked out of the darkness toward him.
"Sorry," she whispered walking to the table and sitting down.
"Have you ever heard the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'?" Kagome looked up at him and nodded slowly.
"I just wanted to see if you were okey," she said softly.
"I'm fine. Just a nightmare." He looked into her eyes. "You were worried about me?"
"Of course I was!"
He smiled. "You should get some sleep."
"Not until I'm sure you're okey."
He began rubbing his head again. "Not a suggestion." He added a small growl at the end for emphasis.
"Fine," she pouted. "But, if you need anything just ask." she walked out of the kitchen and made her way back to his room.
He smirked at her last comment then pulled a small bottle that was marked 'IN CASE OF NIGHT TERROR'. He opened the bottle quickly and swallowed two of the pills inside. After replacing the cap, he slipped it back into his pocket and returned to his room. He slipped back into his bed and felt Kagome snuggle into him.
"'night," she purred before falling asleep. He smiled as he fell unconscious.
The next morning...
Kagome opened her eyes and yawned. "Morning!" She said cheerfully. "Feeling better?"
Inuyasha scratched the back of his head. "Yeah. I'm fine. Go get-"
"Get dressed and meet you down stairs. I know," she said finishing his sentance.
"Good kitten." He patted her on the head then watched her as she carried her stuffed bear with her out of the room.
A few minutes later, Kagome walked down the stairs to find Inuyasha sitting at the bottom with two small boxes. He looked up. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah." He stood up at her reply and handed her the boxes.
"Can you hold these?"
"Sure." She accepted the boxes and followed him out to the drive way.
He walked up to one of his motorcycles that said 'Ninja' on the side and kicked the kickstand off of the ground. Then, he got onto the motorcycle and motioned for her to hand him the boxes. When she did, he opened up a hidden compartment on the back of the bike and placed them inside.
"Let's go!" She got onto the motorcycle quickly and wrapped her arms around his waist as he sped off.
About half an hour later, Inuyasha pulled up to the school and stepped off of his bike. He and Kagome walked up to their home room and sat at their usual seats.
"Hey Yash!" Inuyasha turned to see Miroku and Sango walking toward him.
"And the panther demons strike again." Inuyasha said sarcastically as the panthers sat in the two seats next to him.
"Dude, why do you keep sitting next to the little miss kitty over there? She can't use any of her powers! She's worthless!" Miroku said, making a face at Kagome. Then there was an 'oof' and Miroku grabbed his stomach.
"Leave her alone. You can't pick on someone when they can't even defend themselves."
Kagome hissed for a moment then closed her eyes. She remembered what Inuyasha had been telling her earlier about having a demonic aura.
Flashback...
"The reason the guys at school keep making fun of you is because you never learned how to generate a demonic aura. That's what defines most demons and hanyous. Your demonic aura is how demons tell the power level of another demon. Since yours is practically non-existant, that means you have no power. If you learn to create your demonic aura, you will quickly gain respect in the school."
End Flashback...
Kagome closed her eyes tight and visualized. Suddenly, there was a slight flash of pink light in her mind and she heard a bang. She opened her eyes and looked around. Everyone was staring at her except for Inuyasha. "What?" She looked around innocently.
Miroku and Sango slowly stood up from their seats and backed away. "K-k-kagome...w-we're sorry..." Once they were a few feet away, both demons ran as if she was about to kill them.
Some of the demons in the room did the same and some just stood still, staring. She looked to Inuyasha quickly. "What's wrong?"
He turned his head to her. "You just tried to activate your aura didn't you?" She nodded. He smiled. "Congradulations. You did it." She looked around.
"Then why is everyone staring at me like I just killed somebody?" She whispered, begining to panic.
Inuyasha took a deep breath. "Let's just say I was the most powerful demon in school."
