Hojo stopped by a lake to let his new horse drink some water. How long has he been riding? An hour? It felt nice to have the air on his face and not to think about anything else. Yes, he missed riding. He has been busy with his duties that he never had any time to ride.
Hojo looked at the scenery. He saw Mount Fuji out far into the distance. It looked mystical with soft colors behind it and clouds surrounding it.
“Come out Miroku, I know you are there,” he said and he turned around to his wizard walking from behind a tree.
Miroku bowed to respect his king. “Hello my lord King Hojo.”
“Good morning Miroku, what is it that you need?” Hojo asked.
“One hundred years ago, my magical teller told me that a man and woman would love each other and be the most respected royal couples ever in history. Then, deceit and betrayal will come between them. That is so because a person came back into one's life,” explained the druid.
The king looked at his trusted advisor with blank eyes. “Are you serious? Are you talking about Kagome, InuYasha, and me? I can't believe you, that'll never happen, why I should believe your psychic teller? InuYasha and Kagome will never do that to me.”
Miroku sighed. He should have known that this would happen. `I think he's in denial,' he thought.
“Believe what you want, my lord. But, you will see sometime in the near future that it will come true,” he said and vanished before Hojo's eyes.

Kagome and InuYasha were beneath a tree looking out into the field. There was some awkward silence.
Kagome started to get a little impatient. She sighed in frustration and looked at the man who was sitting next to her. “Well…tell me already!”
InuYasha looked at her and sighed too. “OK, well, I had a cousin named Naraku. He was my dad's nephew. Naraku was a good kid and I confided in him, like a big brother. He was next in line for the throne since he was older than me. Well, one night, when I was ten, my family and I were having dinner. My parents all of a sudden just fell off their chairs. All of the servants came rushing to their sides and then they called for the royal doctor. He came and did what was needed and said that they were dead. Imagine, a ten year was told that they're parents were dead. The doctor said it was probably by food poisoning by the look of it…”
He trailed off a little, he wasn't sure if he wanted to go on. Kagome placed a hand on his knee and gave him a sympathetic look. In her eyes, there was love and considerate. This made him to continue.
He continued, “Everyone didn't know who it was, so everyone turned the castle upside down. One of the servants found a clue and we knew right then and there that Naraku, my cousin, murdered my mother and father. I couldn't believe, I didn't want to believe it, but I knew that it was. So, the palace guards searched the grounds to find him. Well, they did find him eventually. He was in a cave that was on the edge of the palace grounds. They executed him immediately, afraid that he would soon kill me.”
InuYasha was finished with his story. He stood up and was about to walk away when he was pulled back. He looked behind him and saw that Kagome had her hand gripping his shirt.
“I'm sorry. I'm sorry what happened to your parents. No child should have gone through what you've been through. If you ever need to talk to someone, or need something, you can always come to me,” Kagome said.
InuYasha gave a small smile. He was a little grateful that someone cared about him this much. The man sat back down next to the queen.
Both of them gazed into each other's eyes and started to lean closer and closer. They were about to kiss when they heard horse hoofs in the distance. Each knew that the king would be back and better stop what was about to happen and not to tell a soul.
Hojo went into the stables to get off the horse and then he walked to where his wife and friend were sitting.
“How was the ride Hojo?” asked InuYasha.
“Ah, it was fun. I never realized how much I missed it. Thank you so much. What did you two do when I was gone?” he asked as he sat next to his wife and held her hand.
“Well, I am glad you enjoyed it. We didn't do anything, just sat here and talked,” InuYasha answered.
After a few minutes, Hojo left to tend to his duties and then Kagome left to do hers, which left InuYasha alone.
He then saw a young lady riding out from the stables, riding a light brown horse. Her hair was in a high ponytail and it was spraying behind her.
`Who is that young lady? I must ask Kagome or Hojo,' he told himself and left to go into the castle.
