It was the day that Hojo's son would arrive. The whole castle was in a bustle to prepare for his arrival. They set up a chamber for him near the king and queen's chamber. They put toys he might like and clothes.

The king was nervous. He was pacing around the castle making sure that everything was perfect.

The queen was more nervous than her husband. She was wringing her hands and was thinking what to say to him. `Will he like me? Is he going to kill me?' she would think.

The trumpets were sounded and the couple knew that he arrived. They walked quickly to the front of the castle to see him. When they arrived Miroku, InuYasha, and Sango were already there.

A buggy with two black horses was coming up the path. They stopped in front of the citadel. Every held his or her breaths. A man jumped off the back of the buggy and opened the door. A ten-year-old boy with red hair and green eyes jumped out of the buggy.

`Beware of a person with green eyes,' went through Miroku's mind. `Oh no!' he thought, `He is the one to destroy one of these people's lives. What should I do?'

The boy smiled and bowed in front of them. Hojo stepped forward and said, “Hello, welcome to my castle. I am your father, King Hojo.”

The boy walked towards him and said, “Hello father, I am your son. My name is Shippo. I am delighted to finally meet you.” He looked over to Kagome and continued, “This must be your wife, Kagome. I am glad that she is my step mom. I think we will get along well father and step mom.”

Hojo beamed with happiness, but chills went up Kagome's spine. Miroku had no reactions in his facial features. InuYasha thought that everything was going well and Sango just looked far away.

Hojo led his son to the stables, saying that he had a gift for him. Kaede walked out and Kagome told her to take Sango back to her room. Miroku disappeared, maybe going back to his tower or somewhere else. This leaves InuYasha and Kagome alone.

“Well, the whole thing seems to go well between those two, no?” he said. He looked over to Kagome and saw that she was deep in thought. “What are you thinking about?” he asked.

Kagome snapped back into reality and responded, “Something is awfully wrong with that boy. He is the son of Kikyo. Something inside of me is telling me to not trust him.”

InuYasha looked oddly at her and just shrugged as reply. Kagome looked at him and questioned, “But do you feel anything wrong with him?”

“Nah, I don't. He is just ten years old, what harm can he do?” he responded.

“But he is the son of Kikyo, not only to Hojo! They say that she has powers and she's probably using it for evil!” she shouted. Her whole face turned red with anger. She knows what she's talking about.

InuYasha just looked at her and sighed. “Fine, I believe you. Just to make you happy, I'll observe him whenever we are in the same room. I won't go around and spy him, and then he'll think I am up to something. Is that fair enough for you?”

Kagome grinned and hugged him. “That's fine, it makes sense.”

InuYasha smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close tight. “Anything for you, my queen.”

Kagome looked up to his amber eyes. They looked so gentle and serene. She leaned up and captured his lips. She licked his lips for entrance and he opened them. Her tongue plunged in and tasted his mouth. InuYasha's tongue fought for dominance and Kagome let him have it.

They broke apart for air and gazed at each other. Did they just do what they just did?

“Let's dare not tell anyone about this,” said Kagome and InuYasha agreed. If anyone, especially Hojo, who knows what will happen to them, it would be either execution or exile.

They went separate ways, but neither knew that someone was spying on them.
