A/N: I don't own Inuyasha....I would like to thank all of the people who have reviewed for their comments and suggestions and I apoligisze for taking so long, but I broke my wrist so I had a bit of a problem with typing....and now, on with the fic.
Inuyasha looked out the window and sighed as he watched the umberellas of the people walking around, nearly 40 stories below him. "Why am I even here?" he asked himself, sitting back against the wall.
"It's because the world needs you, Inuyasha," a familiar female voice said, walking toward him. "The world is tearing itself apart, and you're the only one powerful enough to stop it."
"Humans are smart enough to settle their own problems," the hanyou said, looking up to see Jen walking toward him.
She sat down next to him and looked into his eyes. "Yes, but not without the cost of thousands of lives," she said softly. "Inuyasha, we found you out of pure luck. No, luck isn't even the word for it. Fate. We found you out of pure fate," she said, her voice becoming quieter. "Who knew that while digging up some old land that the government bought from a shrine would give us you?" She smiled. "You had been pinned to that tree so long, you were almost invisible because the tree had grown around you."
"Keh," the hanyou said, sitting back against the wall and looking up at the ceiling. "Well, I'm here now."

"Aw....just kill me now," Kagome groaned as she looked at her test paper.
"What's wrong, Kagome?" Ayumi asked, looking over her shoulder at the test paper as the bell rang.
"Another F...." Kagome frowned. "My mom is going to kill me."
Ayumi sat down at the desk next to Kagome and smiled. "How about we go to McDonald's and get some cheeseburgers and soda to wash those bad grades out of your mind."
Kagome sighed as she stuffed the test into her backpack and stood up. "Uh...sorry. I can't. I'm meeting up with a friend from out of town," she said, trying to keep a straight face.
"Oh, ok..." Ayumi said, walking toward the door. "I guess I'll see you later, then."
"Okay, bye."

A/N: I think this is turning out as a pretty good fic. I'm trying something new with a lot of my fics, previews of the next chapter, so here it is.
Inuyasha looked around and sighed as he sat back in his chair. 'Nothing to do. Nowhere to be...' He looked up at the sky. "God, I need to get a job."
There were a few beeps from a small pocket in his vest and he reached in, pulling out his cellphone. "Hello?"
"Um....hi," a small vest said from the other line. "Uh...it's Kagome."
