**Chap.18- Christmas Welcome Home

The weeks flew by. Kareena had to learn how to use her left arm again, but that was the only skill she lost. The doctors said she could pay the drums six weeks after release if she kept up her exercises.

But they weren't done with her yet. She was still at a loss of blood, and it seemed her mind was cracked as well as her world had been. Kareena woke screaming almost every night. Kagome had taken watch over her when Rai and Kikyou broke up so he could move his things back into the mansion.

But now it felt good to be home. "I just want to sleep all day…"

"And play all night." Inu whispered, grabbing her from behind. She smirked.

"I was about to say that." She whispered. Inu planted a kiss on her ear and then moved away to a box.

"Good guess on my part." Inu said with a hint of humor in his voice. "I found these in the attic, there was a tree and everything. I hope no body minds."

"Less work for someone else." Kagome fell onto the couch softly. Her eyelids became heavy and she gave into their demands for sleep.

She heard Inu give a small laugh but couldn't open her eyes. She felt him walk closer to her and kiss her forehead. Even though she couldn't see him her arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him to her. Kagome made their lips meet softly.

Her tongue begged for entrance. It was granted and danced a fiery tango with Inu's before she let him go. "You are crafty in your ways woman."

"Hmmm… My ways seem to have worked." She turned away from him, never opening her eyes and fell into sleep.

~~~~~Two Hours Later~~~~~

The door swung open slowly. Rai walked in holding Kareena's hand. She had been released far earlier than anyone had expected. "Remember it's their present to have you home, so you get to hide. Welcome to the mansion, yet again babe." He whispered.

They walked into the living room to find the tree put up and a very tired Kagome and Inu lying on the couch huddled together. "They were made for each other." Kareena whispered.

"Just like we were." Rai kissed her forehead and then helped her upstairs. "I'll be in the music room. The dress is right there." He said pointing. Kareena smiled then pulled him to her. Her lips found his slowly.

"Thank you." She stepped back and shut the door.

"No problem milady." Rai whispered.

~~~~~At Dinner~~~~~

Everyone was seated at the table, and the food was already there. "We should have gone to see Kareena." Kagome said before anyone took a bite of food.

"We will after dinner. Just eat right now." Rai said, stabbing a piece of food with his fork.

"She should be eating dinner with us." Felis sighed. "I feel really bad."

"Would everyone just eat? We will go see her later. I went by there today she's not expecting us until after we are fed." Rai argued, stuffing a bite in his mouth. "Besides, she knows we're thinking about her."

Kagome sighed then went on eating.

"Excuse me." Rai said standing. "I forgot something in my room." He hurried up the stairs, and saw Kareena at the banister. He motioned for her. Her purple and red dress swayed around her as if the wind had placed it there. Rai brushed her cheeks with his lips then helped her down the stairs.

"Everyone I have a present for you." He stood in the door way smiling. The whole table looked at him strangely.

"Rai, you didn't have to."

"Actually I did." He stepped through the door letting Kareena pass behind him and step out on her own. Gasps went up from the table.

Kagome mouth went slack and drooped slightly. All their eyes got big. "She's not supposed to be out of the hospital."

"The doctors released me this morning." Kareena smiled, holding Rai's hand. "They said I was perfectly fine, now that Rai was with me. I thank you Kagome, if it weren't for you, I would have never found him."

An: This should be finished in a few short chapters or one overly large one… There's still one surprise so I'm probably going to let it be a little longer than I thought it would be.
