**Chap. 19- Perfect Ending?

After all the presents were opened, dinner was finished, and Kareena had settled back in, everyone sat silent in the living area. Kagome stared at the lights on the tree. "I wonder if you unplug just one, they all go out?"

"Don't you even try it. I worked hard on that blasted tree and for what?" Inu scoffed.

"You did it for this." Kagome leaned near him, catching the nape of his neck and pulling him to her. Their lips met roughly.

"Alright children, no more tongue wars tonight." Felis said turning away.

"Two happy couples and you're telling them not to kiss. What's wrong with you?" Darren said laughing.

Felis stared at him for a moment then shook his head. "Vampires…." He whispered before he walked away.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Darren stood following him. There would be a fight before this was over. As Kagome pulled away she laughed.

"When is he supposed to do this?" Felis asked pacing.

"Anytime now. Just sit down before I tie you up and strangle you to death." Darren threatened, plopping on to the couch.

"Wouldn't you just drink my blood or something?"

Darren shook his head, and rolled his eyes. "Don't tempt me in killing you. I wouldn't mind the task."

"Boys." She whispered. Rai was watching her, she could feel is eyes on her and turned. "What is it?"

"I don't think I ever said I was sorry to you." He said, smiling. "I apologize for not realizing until it was too late."

Kagome's hair fell in front of her eyes, but he knew what was there. Laughter. That's what h loved about her. "It's fine. You found the one you really want." She pushed her hair out of her face.

"Come on I have one more present." Inu said standing and pulling Kagome with him. They walked into the entrance hallway where Darren and Felis were sitting, still fighting. They went silent, and Felis smiled. Somehow he knew what was going on. So did Darren, he didn't meet Kagome's eyes like he usually did.

"What's going on?" Kagome asked her smile disappearing. "I have a feeling this present isn't something I'm going to like."

Inu stopped walking and turned to her, stopping her in the middle of the room. She glanced at Rai. He was smiling. "Does everyone here know what's going on except for me?"

"Pretty much." Inu whispered. "Kareena doesn't."

Kagome bit her bottom lip. She closed her eyes and breathed, just breathed. Inu bent on one knee while she still had her eyes closed, and pulled out a ring. When she opened them, her mouth dropped.

"Kagome Higurashi, will you marry me?"

An: I know I'm a bitch to do this but, it's a cliffy!! Hahaha….
