Chapter 6

Bad Feelings

Everyone woke up to the smell of food. They all looked up and Kaede was making breakfast. Everyone put their bedding away.

"I thought I'd make you all some breakfast before you leave today." Kaede said.

"Arigato." Everyone said.

They all ate and packed up to leave. They were all heading east to the closest village in search of rumors of the shards.

"How long until we reach the village?" Kagome asked.

"We may get there before dark or tomorrow morning. Depends on how fast we walk." Inuyasha said.

"Oh." Kagome said.

"Why?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nothing I just have a bad feeling."

"You too Kagome-sama?" Miroku said.

"You're both having bad feelings?" Sango asked. They nodded. "What should we do?"

"I suggest we keep going. It's probably nothing that we can't handle." Miroku said.

They all agreed and kept going. It wasn't too long that they all stopped to eat lunch. Kagome couldn't get the feeling to go away. She wondered what it was. Was something going to happen?

After lunch they were on the road again. Everyone felt a little worried about the bad feeling that was getting around. They all felt that something was going to happen.

Even Shippo couldn't help it. His tail was shaking, which meant he was scared.

"What's wrong Shippo?" Kagome asked.

"I just have a bad feeling." Shippo said and clung to Kagome.

"Maybe we should head back. I'm starting to feel nervous." Sango said.

"Hai." Miroku said.

"If you're all so worried about it then lets go back." Inuyasha said.

They had all turned around and headed back to Kaede's village. Inuyasha and Shippo heard a howl. Kagome stopped and looked towards her right. She could sense two shards.

"I sense two Shikon shards."

"Where?" Inuyasha asked. They all looked to where Kagome was pointing. Nothing was there. Then they saw dust. No one knew what it was.

"Otou-san do you smell that?" Shippo said with a growl. Everyone was surprised. Shippo had never growled before. He must be angry.

"Hai." Inuyasha said.

"What is it?" Sango asked.

"It's Kouga isn't it?" Kagome asked. Everyone looked to her. "I can sense two shards and you only act this way if it's him."

"Hai, it's him." Inuyasha said.

"What's wrong with you Shippo?" Sango asked.

"Kouga keeps trying to take Okaa-san away from us. I don't want her to leave." Shippo said. He jumped to Inuyasha's shoulder. "I'll help protect you Okaa-san."

Kagome smiled at him. Inuyasha patted his head. He was proud of Shippo. He was trying to protect her. They all saw the wolves coming. They were from his pack.

Everyone got in a protective stance. Inuyasha was out in front with Shippo on his shoulder and the transformed tetsusaiga in front of him.

Kouga stopped a couple feet in front of them with his pack behind him. "I've come to take my woman."

Kagome just sighed. `Here we go again' she thought. Inuyasha and Shippo started growling.

"Okaa-san is not your woman. She's Otou-san's mate." Shippo said before Inuyasha could say anything.

Kouga shot him a dirty look. "She is my woman. Mated or not I will have her. I'll just get rid of her worthless mate."

"It won't happen so why don't you go back to your territory and leave us the hell alone." Inuyasha said.

Kouga narrowed his eyes at him and lunged at him only to be forced back by something. Everyone looked to Kagome. She had put up a barrier. Kouga was here so why did she still have a bad feeling?

"What are you doing Kagome? If he wants to fight I'll fight." Inuyasha said.

"I still have a bad feeling and its not coming from Kouga." Kagome said.

"What could it be from?" Miroku asked.

Then suddenly a breeze came. After seconds the wind blew harder. The sky grew dark. Everyone looked up at the sky wondering how that happened.

"You should have a bad feeling miko." A voice said.

Everyone looked for the owner of the voice and looked up. There they saw Kagura jump from her feather and land gently on the ground.

"Kagura." Everyone said.

"What are you doing here?" Kouga asked. He still wanted revenge for his pack.

"I have come to take the miko on Naraku's orders." She said.

"What does Naraku want with Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"She has great power does she not? Naraku is drawn to power and wants as much as he can get. Mating with the miko will strengthen him." Kagura said.

"She's already got a mate." Shippo said.

"Do you think he cares? You think he would respect a mating with a half-breed?"

"Naraku is nothing but a half-breed. He is contradicting himself." Miroku said.

"Ah but with the miko's power she can change that. No more talking hand her over."

"Never." Inuyasha said.

"Fine I guess I have to take her by force." Kagura stepped back and took out her fan and released her attack.

Kouga's pack withdrew. He wanted to take her down himself. He promised he would avenge his fallen pack.

Inuyasha shielded everyone with the tetsusaiga. He ran at her as soon as he had the chance. Kouga also attacked as well.

Kagura couldn't do much. She was being outnumbered. She used one of her attacks to put Kouga in a little hurricane so he couldn't move. She had used the move on him after she killed his pack members.

Inuyasha was free to strike and swung the tetsusaiga at her. She managed to dodge his attacks. She failed to dodge one and her arm was slashed. She put him in one of the hurricanes too.

Sango and Miroku took the chance to attack her while Kagome tried to figure out how to get Inuyasha and Kouga out of the hurricanes. The wind in it was slowly cutting them.

Kagome looked at them. She had to think quickly. What could she do? She suddenly got a thought. If she put a barrier around each of them the wind would have to stop twirling around them. It was worth a shot.

She put a barrier around Inuyasha first. The wind slowly died down and finally stopped. Seeing that it worked she did it for Kouga too. They both fell to the ground gasping. She ran to Inuyasha.

"Are you ok?" Kagome asked.

"Hai. I just need to catch my breath." He panted heavily. He had cuts all over his body. He stood up and went after Kagura again.

Kagome looked for Kouga but he was already gone. She could sense the shards going in the direction they had come from. He ran away again. She turned to Inuyasha. He had just cut Kagura's shoulder.

Just as he was about to give the finishing blow Kagura threw something to the ground and escaped on her feather. Before anyone could do anything Naraku's puppet grew from where Kagura threw it on the ground.

The puppet's tentacles shot out at everyone. They all dodged it as best they could. Sango was caught in the tentacle and Miroku was trying to get her out of its grasp.

Inuyasha couldn't do anything about it. He was slashing away at whatever came at him. Shippo was using his Kitsune-bi to keep it away from Kagome. Kagome concentrated on where the source of the puppet would be.

She found it and made a bow and arrow out of her energy and shot it at the center. As soon as it hit the puppet dissolved. Sango fell from the air and on top of Miroku. Inuyasha sheathed the tetsusaiga.

"Kagome-chan I think you're getting better with your bow and arrow thing." Sango said as she helped Miroku up.

"Arigato."

"Are you ok Kagome?" Inuyasha asked. He ran up to her and started sniffing her.

"I'm fine it's you we need to worry about. I think you're the only one who got hurt."

"I'll be fine in a couple of hours."

"Well I think the bad feeling was coming from Kagura because it's gone now." Kagome said.

"And by the smell of things so is that wimpy wolf." Inuyasha said.

"Come on lets bandage your wounds and go back to the village." Kagome said.

"Feh. I said I'd be fine."
