Chapter 13

Kagome had given up asking Inuyasha where they were going. He wouldn't answer her. He just kept running deeper and deeper into the forest. She wondered why they would have to go so far away just to talk.

Inuyasha finally thought they were far enough away. All he could see or hear was the forest around him. He found a clearing and landed in the middle of it. He sat Himself down and put Kagome in his lap.

As soon as they were both comfortable Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She just looked at him waiting for him to say something. He didn't know how to tell her. This was something that could either make or break their relationship. He prayed that she was ready to have kids.

"Kagome I have something to tell you." He said.

"I already knew that. Isn't that why you carried me all the way out here? What's so important that you needed to drag me half way around the world to get away from everybody?" Kagome asked. She was a little irritated.

"Well I don't know the best way to tell you this."

"Spit it out already."

"You're pregnant." He said. Inuyasha buried his face in her neck. He didn't want to see the look on her face.

Kagome gasped and put her hands on her stomach. "I'm pregnant?" She didn't know what to say. `That explains why I threw up earlier.' She thought.

Inuyasha was beginning to worry. She hadn't said anything besides the `I'm pregnant' thing. He lifted his head and looked at her. There were no expressions on her face. She was the kind of person that you could always tell how they were feeling by looking at their face.

"Kagome?" He said. No response. `She must be mad.' He thought. "I'm sorry Kagome."

Kagome looked at him. He looked sad. "What are you sorry for?" She asked.

"For getting you pregnant." He said.

"You shouldn't be sorry about that."

"You're not mad?" He asked.

"No how could I be mad?" She asked him. He shrugged. "I'm happy that we're going to have a baby. I mean I'm a little young but that's ok."

"Really? You're not mad then?"

"How do you feel about the baby?" She asked him.

"I'm happy that you're going to be the mother of my pup." He said.

"Then I'm not mad." She said. Inuyasha smiled and kissed her. He put a hand on her stomach. `My pup.' He thought.

"How'd you know I was pregnant?" Kagome asked him.

"I can smell it."

"Really I didn't know you could smell something like that. Good thing Naraku's dead."

"Hai. I don't know what I'd do if he were still alive and you were pregnant. I'd be overprotective of you."

"You mean more than you already are?" Kagome smiled.

"I'm not overprotective." He said.

"Sure you're not." Kagome said. "You know we're going to have to tell Okaa-san about this."

Inuyasha cringed. He was not looking forward to that conversation. "Do we have to tell her anytime soon?" He asked.

"When do you want to tell her then?" Kagome asked.

"After the pup is born." He said.

"Inuyasha don't joke around like that."

"I'm not joking." He said with a straight face. "Come on lets go back I'm sure your dying to tell Sango." He let her climb on his back and he leapt from tree to tree toward the village.

"What is it Miroku?" Sango said.

"What do you plan on doing now that Naraku is dead and Kohaku is back?" He asked.

"I don't know. I guess I should find a place to live. I don't think we'd be able to live with Kaede-sama for forever. Especially now that the Shikon no Tama is almost whole. Why do you ask?"

"Now that the jewel is almost put together I figured I would get a house of my own built. As you've said we can't live with Kaede for forever. Well I was wondering if you'd want to live with me." He said.

Sango's breath hitched. "What do you mean?"

Miroku moved directly in front of her and took her hands in his. "I mean I want you to live with me. Sango will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Sango was shocked. Never in a million years had she thought he would ask her that. He was a lecherous monk. And yet she loved him. Sango threw herself onto him and hugged him with all her might. "Hai." She said.

Miroku hugged her back. "You will?" He asked. He wanted to make sure he wasn't just hearing things.

"Hai, I will." She said. Miroku pushed her away a little to look into her eyes. He brought his face closer to hers and kissed her. Sango was surprised but kissed him back.

They both pulled away for air but never let go of each other. "I guess this means I have to stop touching other women." He laughed.

"You'd better not touch anyone." Sango said.

"Does that mean I can touch you now?" He said and squeezed her backside. She glared at him but didn't hit him. He laughed and pulled her in for another kiss.

"If you're going to be doing that I suggest you find a more private place."

Sango and Miroku pulled away from the kiss and glared at Inuyasha. Him and Kagome had just walked in with Kohaku and Shippo. Sango was blushing while Miroku just kept smiling.

"When did you guys get here?" Sango asked.

"Just now." Kagome said smiling at her friend. "We have something to tell you."

"Kagome is pregnant." Inuyasha said. He put his hands on Kagome's stomach. He was standing behind her with his chin on her shoulder.

"That's great Kagome." Sango said. She tore away from Miroku to hug Kagome. She knocked Miroku and Inuyasha down in the process.

"Oi you don't have to push me." Inuyasha said.

"I'm going to have a little brother or sister soon?" Shippo asked.

"Hai." Inuyasha said. Shippo jumped on Inuyasha knocking him over again and hugged him. Then he jumped on Kagome's shoulder with more gentleness because of the pup and hugged her too.

"We also have an announcement to make." Miroku said catching everyone's attention. "Sango and I are getting married."

"Really?" Kagome asked. Sango blushed and nodded. Kagome hugged Sango congratulating her. Shippo and Kohaku also hugged her.

They all sat down around the fire. It was getting dark. Kaede walked in the hut a while after and was told the news. She congratulated them all and sat with them.

They soon got serious. "We must do something about the other two shards." Miroku said.

"How will we get them from Kouga?" Sango asked.

"What do you mean how will we get them. We kick his ass and take them." Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha. I'm sure if we asked him he would give them to us." Kagome said.

"He's still hung up on you being his woman. He'll probably try to kidnap you or something. And if you think I'm going to let that happen while you're carrying my pup you're out of your fucking mind." He said.

"What do you suggest we do then hn? And no fighting. That'll just make things worse." Kagome said.

"Maybe we could try talking to him." Sango said. "It's worth a try. We could go to his territory and talk to him about it."

"Fine but if he tries anything I won't hesitate to kill him." Inuyasha said.

"So when do we leave?" Miroku asked.

"In a couple of days. Kagome and I have to go to her time to tell her family the news." He said.

"I guess you'll be staying here until tomorrow and then leave?" Miroku asked.

"Yeah it's too late to go now." Inuyasha said.

"I suggest you all go to sleep. You've had a very exciting day." Kaede said.

Everyone nodded. Kagome and Inuyasha curled up on the futon with Shippo. Inuyasha put his hands on Kagome's stomach. Shippo laid next to her stomach.

Miroku walked up to Sango. "May I lay with you?" He asked her.

Sango blushed and nodded. "No funny stuff. Kohaku you can use my futon." Kohaku nodded and laid down. Miroku and Sango laid on his futon. He had his arms around Sango.

"Oyasumi Sango." He said and kissed her.

"Oyasumi Miroku." She said as soon as the kiss ended.
