Chapter 14

Impatient

The next morning everyone woke up to the smell of breakfast. Kaede had been the first to wake up so she started cooking. After eating Kagome and Inuyasha said goodbye to everyone and left for the well.

When they got to Kagome's time. They walked into the house. Everyone was sitting in the kitchen eating.

"Kagome your back. Inuyasha too. Sit down eat." Ms. Higurashi said.

"We already ate. We have something to tell you." Kagome said. Everyone looked at her waiting to tell them. She didn't know how to tell them.

Inuyasha could see she didn't know how to say it so he said it for her. "Kagome's pregnant." Everyone looked at him and then back to Kagome. She was blushing.

"That's wonderful dear." Ms. Higurashi said. She stood up and hugged Kagome and Inuyasha. Souta did the same.

"You're ok with it?" Kagome asked.

"Of course I am. If I wasn't I wouldn't have let Inuyasha sleep in your room." She said. "I suppose you are a little young but you act mature so it's ok."

They all sat down and talked. They were discussing baby clothes and how long she would until the baby was born.

"The pup will be born in about six months." Inuyasha said. "Inu youkai pregnancies last about three months but since I'm a hanyou it will probably be about six."

"Oh well then where are you going live? Here or there? You can't be jumping through the well after too long." Ms. Higurashi said.

Kagome didn't know how to answer. She'd never thought about where she'd live. Inuyasha couldn't live in this time. It was too complicated for him. "I guess I'll live on the other side of the well with Inuyasha."

Inuyasha was a little surprised. He didn't think she would answer so quickly. Had she thought about it before? He never thought about it. He was too afraid of the consequences.

"Why don't you guys go up to your room? I'll start making lunch. I hadn't realized we talked for so long." Ms. Higurashi said.

Inuyasha and Kagome walked to her room and sat on the bed. "Do you really want to live with me in my time?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai, it would be too complicated for you to live in my time." Kagome said.

He hugged Kagome. "I never thought about where we would live because I didn't know if you'd want to stay with me."

"Of course I would stay with you. I love you." She said.

"Guess that means I'll have to build a house."

"I don't think Kaede-sama would want us to live with her for forever." Kagome laughed.

They both laid on the bed. Inuyasha laid his head on Kagome's stomach. She petted his ears. He started to growl contentedly. They stayed like that until Souta told them it was time to eat. They walked downstairs.

Miroku and Sango were with Shippo and Kohaku. They were walking around trying to find a place to build a house. They wanted it to be close to the river. They were also looking for a spot for Kagome and Inuyasha to build a house. They were sure that Kagome would live in this time.

They had been walking around for about an hour now. Shippo and Kohaku came running up to them saying they found the perfect spot. Sango and Miroku followed them. They walked into a clearing.

It was perfect. It was next to the river. It was a secluded area where probably know one knew about. Some ways away there was another clearing. Inuyasha and Kagome could build a house there if they wanted.

They walked to the village. Miroku was going to ask some of the villagers to help. One person couldn't build a house. Maybe Inuyasha could since he was a hanyou.

After eating lunch Kagome and Inuyasha went back upstairs. Kagome thought it was wrong to sit here and do nothing when the jewel was almost whole. She took it out of her shirt and looked at it.

"What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nothing." She said.

"You're lying something is wrong."

"I guess I just want the jewel to be finished now. I feel a little uneasy about Kouga still having two shards."

"Do you want to go back and get it now?"

"No I think the others want to rest."

"I'm sure they won't mind. We can ask if they want to go now. If they don't then we'll wait."

"Ok. Lets go tell Okaa-san we'll be going."

They both walked downstairs and told her family what they were going to do. They had already told them what happened. "Be sure to take this." Ms. Higurashi said. She handed her some painkillers.

"I thought you weren't supposed to take medicine if you're pregnant?" Kagome said.

"I guess you're right. You shouldn't take any just in case." Ms. Higurashi said.

"It's just my wrist. It doesn't hurt too bad. I'll just get some herbs from Kaede-sama before we leave." Kagome said. She hugged her and left for the well house.

"You know soon you won't be able to go through the well." Inuyasha said.

"Hai, I know but I'll have a couple of months before that happens." She said. Inuyasha picked her up and jumped in. Inuyasha sniffed.

"Sango and Miroku are near by." He said and jumped out of the well. They were Sango and Miroku. They were sitting on the grass watching Shippo and Kohaku play.

"Kagome-chan." Sango said.

"Okaa-san." Shippo yelled. He ran to her and hugged her.

"What are you guys doing here? I thought you were going to stay for a little longer." Sango asked.

"Well…" Kagome started.

"Kagome wants to go into Kouga's territory now." Inuyasha said.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Sango said.

"Really?" Kagome said.

"Hai, I don't feel right waiting to get the jewel whole. The faster its put together the better."

"That's what I was thinking." Kagome said.

"Are you guys ready to leave now then?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai, we only need to stop by the hut to grab it." Miroku said.

They all walked over to the hut to grab everything. They told Kaede-sama where they were going. She gave Kagome some herbs for her wrist. They all walked because it would be too much of a strain on Kirara's back to have to carry Sango, Miroku, and Kohaku for very long.

They headed towards Kouga's territory. They hoped his den was still at the waterfall it was at last time or they wouldn't know where to go.
