Chapter 3: The First Task

Sesshoumaru woke up to do his daily thing as such in clean himself, put on new clothes, and comb his hair. When he moved to the side of his bed he didn't inspect Kagome to be sleeping there. `Why is she in my room?' he thought agitated at the girl before him.

He got up and went into his bathroom coming out dressed properly. `I'm going to wake that wench up. How dare she come in here without my permission and while I'm sleeping.' Sesshoumaru went over to Kagome's sleeping form. With his boot he kicked her in her side. `Heh.'

Kagome woke up yelling, “Ouch!”

“Get out of my room. How dare you sleep in here? I will kick you out if you try anything like that again and I mean what I say wench.” Sesshoumaru backed up slightly so Kagome could stand up.

`I wake up like this. I should've never walked in here.' Kagome groaned as she stood up.

“This is your first task. I want my room clean and fresh when I come back you understand. I will be back in two hours. If I see you didn't do it I will take you to Inuyasha then make sure you die right in front of his face.” Sesshoumaru said coldly.

Kagome was stunned by his words and her bangs hid her face. “Yes Lord Sesshoumaru.”

“I also want a bath waiting for Me.” he walked out the door and swiftly moved down the stairs. `That'll put her in her place.'

Kagome slowly walked out his room and went into hers. She took a shower and then got dressed and prepared to work for an hour and thirty minutes. `Why didn't I go to someone simple? I'm only eighteen and everyone acts like I'm the bad person.'

Kagome then ran into someone when she was staring at her feet instead of looking in front of her. “Ow. I'm sorry did I run into you?” The person said. Kagome smiled and said, “I was the one not paying attention.” She looked at the person she bumped into and figured she was a fox demon. She had blue hair, purple eyes, she was as tall as herself, she had a tail that was small and curved up with the acceptable color of matching her hair color, she wore a kimono just like hers was purple, light blue, and white. “No it's okay.” she said apologetic.

“Oh you must be the new servant for Lord Sesshoumaru! Hi! My name is Mona (moon-nah)!” she said all perked up.

“Hi my name is Kagome.” Kagome bowed. `This demon is more cheerful than anybody I know. “Are you here to help me clean Sesshoumaru's room?”

Mona sighed and said, “No actually I'm up here to clean your room. I'm your personal servant. You see anyone that is Lord Sesshoumaru's personal servant controls all the servants except for the cooks. You'll get used to it.” Mona patted her on the back.

“Oh so I order the other servants around including you? How many servants are there?”

“Yes and there are seventy servants.” Mona smiled.

“Well I kind of understand. When I clean Sesshoumaru's room I order the others around?”

“Exactly. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it.” Mona said stepping inside her room. Kagome sighed. `At least there is no one sad except me. I miss my family already.' Kagome walked back into Sesshoumaru's room and prepared to clean everything even under his bed. She walked back out and asked Mona how would you clean the room without anything to clean it with.

“Get a cloth and some soap that is in the bathroom and start washing down everything.”

Kagome immediately walked back into Sesshoumaru's room. She went to get the supplies and began to scrub everything even the walls. Like she said she even scrubbed under his bed. She through the trash and old clothes outside the room and even washed everything in the bathroom. She used her miko powers to put a pure scent and filtered the old air in outside to go through the wind. She took the sheets and old clothes downstairs. Mona told her the washing room was downstairs the third door on the right. She scrubbed the silk and sheets clean. Kagome looked at her watch and realized she only had thirty minutes left. She put the wet clothes in the hot air that was being blown by a fire demon. The items dried in five minutes. She hurried back to Sesshoumaru's room and fixed the bed up and hung the clothes up in the closet. She ran hot water in the gigantic bathtub and put some of her own bubble treatment it to make it be soothing. She looked at her watch she had ten minutes left. She ordered Mona to get all the servants in one room. She yelled to get their attention. “People Lord Sesshoumaru would be home in a few minutes. We have to clean the hallways quickly.” Kagome and Mona yelled out. They all scattered like bugs and they quickly scrubbed at the walls on each and every floor. When they were done Kagome said, “You did well. Now rest because I know some of you are out of breath.” They all cheered and went into their own rooms.

Kagome went back into Sesshoumaru's room and made sure the water was still hot. She put some more hot water in it when it wasn't as hot as it was when she first put in. Mona came upstairs and gave Kagome some breakfast in her room. In thirty seconds it was gulfed down because Kagome had to await Sesshoumaru's arrival. She went back into his room and made sure Mona was downstairs. Sesshoumaru would arrive in a minute. Kagome intently waited standing by the door inside Sesshoumaru's room. When she heard foot steps her heart was beating harder and harder. When she felt the steps stop at the door, she opened the door and bowed. “Welcome back Lord Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru walked into his room and sniffed the fresh air smell. He walked over into his bathroom and nodded. `I thought she wasn't going to clean it.'

With an emotionless face he said, “Kagome you may do what you like from now on.”

Kagome bit her lower lip and said, “What exactly is there to do around here?”

Sesshoumaru growled and that caused Kagome to smile. “So you wish to stay in here?”

“No I just want to know what you demons do for fun around here. If you don't know why bubbles are in the tub I put my own material in there.” Kagome bowed and left the room closing the door behind her.

When she got to the second floor she saw the little girl Sesshoumaru always had around him. `I believe that's Rin.'

Rin bowed to Kagome and went into her room without a word. `I guess someone made her day bad. That's right it's still in the morning.' Kagome smiled. `That was my first task imagine what my other ones will be like.'
