Chapter 5: The Truth Unrevealed

“Kagome, you and Sesshoumaru-sama come visit sometime!” Kagome's mother yelled as they left to go to the well. Sesshoumaru had a bad day and wanted to leave in the afternoon because Sota got on his nerves. If it wasn't for his promise not to kill anybody he would kill Sota without hesitation.

Sesshoumaru nodded and walked away. Kagome gave her Grandpa, Sota, and her mother a hug before she went to join him. When they got in the well house she sighed and asked, “Was it that bad Sesshoumaru?”

He glared at her and let out a low frustrated growl before speaking. “Your younger brother is a nuisance and I will consider Inuyasha over him any day.” He said coldly.

Kagome did a deep sigh. “Okay let's go then.” She had her black backpack on her shoulders again. She grabbed on to Sesshoumaru's hand and they jumped in the well together.

Sesshoumaru jumped up out of the well and immediately started running to the western lands with Kagome in his arms. She was gripping on his armor pretty tight and it was causing him to lose his balance after awhile.

Sesshoumaru then stopped running and sniffed the air. Kagome looked up at him and asked, “What?”

“It seems that Inuyasha was here a few minutes ago. He will be at my castle by morning if he keeps going on.” Sesshoumaru informed her.

“Well how we are we going to get there faster than him if he's in front of us?” Kagome had a worried look on her face. `I'm not ready to see him so frequently. I'm might do something foolish.'

Sesshoumaru could smell her fear and said, “I will use all my demonic speed to get there, but the problem is you hold to tight on my armor and it's making it harder for me to run. I'm not going to let him take you because you swore loyalty to me.” He looked down at Kagome seriously.

Kagome blushed and loosened her grip on his armor. Then she grabbed hold of a piece of his clothing. “Thank you Lord Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru started running at full speed thankful he could go full speed with Kagome in his arms. She was surprising light for a woman of her age. Usually women would be kind of lazy and fat. They stay around the house and just cook all day. Kagome even smelled fresh and liked to bath as much as Sesshoumaru. When he sniffed that he past Inuyasha he smirked and looked down at Kagome. Her eyes were shut the whole time.

He figured she was eighteen because it's been three years since he met her. Plus, he always kept track of his enemies. He stopped an hour before getting to the castle. The sun was going down and both he and Kagome were tired. He set Kagome down and said, “We are walking the rest of the way.”

Kagome nodded. She felt safer around Sesshoumaru and he was must've been running for at least four hours. `I guess he has some powerful legs. I forgot about his true form though, I guess he's used to running for a long time. He seems tired though.' She waited for him to start walking. When he turned to walk Kagome walked behind him. The silence was killing her but she knew he had a rough day with Sota and obeying her mother's rules. He couldn't carry his swords everywhere and he couldn't eat or drink unless told. Kagome never really saw Sesshoumaru eat back at the castle though, but with her mother she expects you to eat everything unless you full or sick.

Kagome looked to the side of the road she was in deep thought. `What if Inuyasha came that morning? What will I saw to him? I wouldn't lie to him and say I missed him because I really don't. Jaken was so much like Inuyasha it wasn't funny. Well, it was kind of funny, but instead of saying just `sit' I could say anything he would comply happily.'

“Kagome.” Sesshoumaru voice broke her train of thought.

“Yes, Lord Sesshoumaru?” she sounded joyous since she was finally about to have a conversation with him.

“What made you love my brother so much?” he asked calmly.

Kagome fell silent for awhile and said, “I guess it was his personality. I started to like him because I got to know him better than anyone. When I first met him he tried to do the same thing like you, when we met. He tried to kill me for the jewel. If Keade didn't put the necklace he has on him now I would have been dead in a second.

When I met you I thought you two just held grudges because he left you alone in the world. Then I realized it might be when you were younger that you started to hate each other. My mom always told me when you have a younger sibling and he's rude means you rejected him in your younger forms. I felt sorry for Inuyasha most of the time but I started to fall slowly in love with him.”

“Kagome, why did you feel sorry for him?” he asked and turned around.

“I felt sorry for him because he was in love with a dead bitch. At first it was sad but Kikyo was the only one that trusted him when she was alive.” Kagome paused and looked up at the sky. “I loved him for what he was. Both of you need to be loved. I really don't know why you two fight but I know one thing when Sota was born we did the same thing. We always argued until I helped him get a little girlfriend when he was nine years old. He's still kind of immature for a twelve year old but I love him because he's blood. You and Inuyasha hate each other because you got the same blood.” Kagome looked at him with a smile.

They were still walking but Sesshoumaru only turned around to see her facial expression. He turned back around when he saw her smile and began walking. `Kagome is a strange person indeed. She almost got why we hate each other, but I'm not planning on telling her that.'

When they saw the castle in sight Sesshoumaru said, “You gained a little of my respect and trust Kagome. You can go outside anytime you want, but you must still keep the castle under control when I'm gone.”

Kagome ran beside him and said, “Thanks!”

The next morning. . . . .

Kagome was a nervous wreck. She scrubbed so hard she came out the bath with pink skin. She put her normal make-up on, and combed her hair. She put on a white and pinkish kimono that matched Sesshoumaru's armor and kimono. She had white low boots with a buckle on it that Mona gave her. She sprayed very little perfume on so the demons in the castle won't die of the strong smell.

After breakfast she made sure the castle was spotless so when Sesshoumaru arrived he wouldn't be mad at her. She ran the bath water like usual for him five minutes before he came in. She bowed and left the room so he could rest before Inuyasha arrived. Before she closed the door he said, “Inuyasha should be here in an hour. Make sure all the guards on intense defense.”

Kagome nodded and closed the door. She looked at her watch on her wrist and it was around 10. She took a deep breath and went downstairs to inform the guards. She announced it as quick as she could which took at least fifteen minutes. Mona went upstairs to clean Kagome's room all over again because she was becoming nervous too.

Sesshoumaru came downstairs and ate breakfast and went outside for Inuyasha arrival. Kagome on the other hand after delivering the message she went into the garden to think. Jaken had Rin of at the flower field a few miles away from here so she won't get caught in the drama. `I have to show him I don't care about him anymore. I have to do it or my heart will break.' She looked towards the entrance of the castle. Sesshoumaru walked up to her and said coldly, “He's here.”

Kagome got up and walked beside Sesshoumaru while gaining all the courage to confront him. They walked to the entrance and slowly waited for Inuyasha figure to show up. When she saw the same silver hair that Sesshoumaru had she gasped. Sango, Miroku, Kilala, and Shippo were already for a battle to win her back.

“Kagome!” Shippo ran to her and jumped up for a hug. Kagome was like a sister and a mother to him.

“Hey, Shippo! I forgot how big you are!” Kagome hugged him with all his might.

“Sesshoumaru I'm here to take you down!” Inuyasha ranted pulling out the Tetsiega.

Before he could get any closer to the entrance Kagome yelled, “SIT, BOY!!”
