Chapter 2

Reminiscing

The bell rang for the last class of the day. Kagome got up out of her seat and left the classroom. She went to her locker. Well her and Inuyasha's locker. She walked down the hallway and stopped beside the locker.

She was trying to find the paper the combination was written on. Someone hugged her from behind. She got scared and jerked away. She turned around to see who it was. There was Kouga standing there with a smirk on his face.

"Is there something I can help you with Kouga?" She asked.

"I was just wondering if I could walk you home." He said.

"I think I can manage to get home without your help." She said.

"I just thought I might get to know you better before we went out."

"What are you talking about I never agreed to go out with you. I just met you today." She was getting kind of scared. Here she was pinned between a locker and a guy she just met being pushed into going out with him.

"Sure we are. From now on you're my woman."

"You've got to be kidding me. Did you not hear me earlier? We just met a couple of hours ago." She said.

"That doesn't mean anything to me." He started leaning in closer to her. His chest was pressed against hers.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing Kouga?"

Kagome looked at who said that. It was Inuyasha. Miroku and Sango were standing next to him. They looked pretty mad.

"She's only been here for one day and you're already trying to molest her." Sango said.

"I have a right she's my woman." He said. He grabbed Kagome and held her tight. He watched as they stared with a look of disbelief on their faces.

"Is that true Kagome?" Miroku asked.

"No." She said struggling to get out of his arms. He was too strong for her to pull free. She looked at Inuyasha he looked down right pissed.

Inuyasha was pissed all right. How dare he demand a girl to be his? He watched as Kagome struggled to get free. He tried to stay in control. As soon as she looked at him he lost it. He raised his fist and punched Kouga in the face.

Kouga still had his arms around Kouga when he got hit so she fell with him. "Itai." She said. She landed on her behind. Inuyasha helped her up. He looked at Kouga who was knocked out on the ground.

"Are you ok?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai. Arigato Inuyasha." Kagome said. Inuyasha blushed and turned to his locker to hide it. His friends saw it though. "Did you need to put something away before I close it?" He asked.

Kagome nodded and took some books out of her bag and shoved them in the locker. "Kagome would you like to come with us? We were going to go out to get something to eat." Sango asked. "I'm sure the guys won't mind."

"That's ok. I should get home." She said.

"Aww come on Kagome. You can come with us and we can all get to know each other better. I'm sure we'll all become good friends." Sango said.

"I guess I could go for a little while as long as Inuyasha and Miroku don't mind." She said. She didn't really want to go but Sango had guilted her into it.

"Of course we don't mind Kagome. It would be our pleasure to have you come with us. I would like to ask you something. Would you do me the honor of bearing my child?" Miroku said and then squeezed her backside.

Kagome squeaked, hit him on the head and then backed away from him and bumped into Inuyasha. "Gomen I didn't mean to bump into you or hit Miroku." She said.

"Don't worry about him. He deserves to get hit." Inuyasha said.

"Miroku." Sango said. She had a dangerous look in her eyes. She started hitting him. "She's new couldn't you have waited to reveal your lecherous side to her?" She screamed.

Kagome looked shocked. She looked at Inuyasha to see if he could answer her question. Before she could ask he started answering. "They're always like that. Miroku's a hentai and Sango is the abusive girl who keeps him in check." He said.

"Do they go out?" She asked.

"No." He said. "Come on guys lets go I'm hungry. I'm sure Kagome is bored watching."

Sango stopped and looked up. "I forgot we were going to go eat. Ok let's go." She dropped Miroku and started walking away. "Hey where'd Kouga go?"

They all looked at where they left Kouga. "He must've snuck away after I hit him." Inuyasha said.

"I take it you don't like Kouga very much." Kagome said.

"Are you kidding Inuyasha and Kouga have been fighting ever since middle school. They are always competing and stuff." Miroku said.

"Oh. Well why do you hate him so much?" Kagome asked Inuyasha.

"Well I hate his attitude. He's so damn egotistical it makes me sick. I don't like the way he treats people." He said.

"Here it is." Sango said. She stopped in front of a little diner. "This is our favorite hang out place. It's just for high school students."

They walked in. It looked like an old 70's diner. When you walked in there were table on both sides of the door, some booths in all the corner areas, and seats by the counter in the front of the register.

The floors were checkered red and white. The seats were whit and the tables were red. There was a big sign that said `Shikon Diner'. There was a menu underneath. "Come on let's go to our usual booth." Sango said and dragged Kagome away to the right.

They sat in the booth that was farthest away from everything. "We sit back here because no one usually bothers us after we've ordered." Miroku said. Then a waitress came and took their orders.

She came back with four burgers, four orders of curly fries, and four sodas. Everyone ate their food in silence. Then once they were done they started asking Kagome questions.

"So Kagome do you have any siblings? What about your family?" Sango asked.

Kagome hated to have to lie to her but she didn't have a choice. If she didn't want the past to come haunt her she would have to keep some things quiet. "No." She said and ignored the family question.

"Oh. I have one brother Kohaku. He's such a pain. My mom and dad think I'm just being childish." Sango said.

"Do you guys have any siblings? What about your family?" Kagome asked the guys.

"I'm an only child." Miroku said. "My mother and father travel a lot so I stay with my grandfather while they are away."

"What about you Inuyasha?" Kagome asked.

"I have a half brother name Sesshomaru. My father and mother are dead." He said.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked." Kagome said.

"It's ok they died a long time ago." He said. He felt bad that Kagome felt sorry for asking a question. He didn't even know why it's not like it was anyone's fault.

"What about your family Kagome? You never answered the question." Sango said.

Kagome got up and put some money on the table. "I should go. It's getting late I still have to finish unpacking." She said. She walked out of the diner.

"Was it something I said?" Sango asked.

Kagome walked down the street to her apartment. She lived alone. Her mom and her little brother Souta lived Kyoto at their family shrine. They had a lot of problems in the past so they all thought it was best if they moved.

Kagome was the only one that moved. Because of Naraku and all the things he'd put her through she had to move away from her family and friends.

She had met Naraku almost a year ago. She was in school and he'd just transferred. After the first week he'd started talking to Kagome. He asked her out and always called her. He was attracted to her innocence.

About a month after trying to get her to go out with him he finally started getting scary and threatening. He threatened that he'd hurt her family if she didn't go out with him. His reputation convinced her that he wasn't lying.

After about six months later he started pushing her to do things. He always wanted her around. Her family started to worry. She'd come home with bruises on her body but she wouldn't tell them anything.

Finally one day Naraku had taken it too far. He hit her for being a minute late one time and she cracked. He told her he was leaving out of town to do something. That was when she told her mom.

Her mom agreed that it would be safe for them to move but Kagome said it would look bad and he might hurt her them if they did. So they moved Kagome to Tokyo by herself and told everyone that she was going to be in a foreign exchange student in America.

So here she was walking to her apartment. No one knew she lived alone. She was only seventeen. She wasn't old enough to live by herself. How was she going to keep dodging Sango's questions? She couldn't keep lying to her.

She didn't want to tell her about her past either. She'd already lied about having a brother. Would Sango believe her anyway? Maybe she could tell her so then she would understand some things about her. No.

Kagome walked into her apartment and sighed. She was going to take a bath and then call her mom. She always knew what to do. Maybe she would stay home tomorrow. She didn't know. All she knew was that she was going to have to do a lot of thinking.
