Chapter 6

Grandpa

Kagome looked at Inuyasha then to Kouga. They both looked pissed. `I hope they don't get into a fight.' She thought.

"She's not your woman." Inuyasha barked. Him and Kouga were glaring daggers at each other.

Kagome decided she'd better step in. "Kouga I'm not your woman." She said. "I don't appreciate you ruining my date."

Inuyasha smiled. "Go away before you ruin it."

"You're on a date with him?" Kouga pointed to Inuyasha.

"I just said that didn't I? Come on lets go Inuyasha." Kagome grabbed his hand and started walking away.

Kouga grabbed her other arm and jerked her towards him. "You're mine and don't you forget it." He kissed her and left.

"You son of a bitch." Inuyasha yelled. He was about to run after him but Kagome put a hand on his shoulder. He immediately calmed down.

"Don't let's just go." Kagome said. He nodded. They walked to the park and sat on a bench.

"Gomen Kagome." He said breaking the silence. He was looking at the ground. He was pissed. Oh he was beyond pissed. There was no word that could explain how mad he was when Kouga kissed her.

"What are you sorry for?" Kagome asked.

"I wasn't able to stop him from kissing you."

"Don't worry about."

"You…you didn't enjoy it did you?" He asked. He wondered how she could sit there and act like nothing happened.

"Of course I didn't. I don't like Kouga. I barely even know him. I just didn't want to say anything about it. I didn't want it to interfere with our date." She said.

"Oh." Boy was he relieved. She didn't like Kouga. He silently jumped for joy. It was getting late so Inuyasha started walking Kagome home.

When they got to her apartment she unlocked her door. She faced Inuyasha. "Arigato Inuyasha. I had a good time." She said.

"Does that mean you'll go out with me again?" He asked.

"Hai." She said. "Just promise me you won't kill Kouga. I wouldn't want you to go to jail."

"That bastard deserves something worse than death." He said. Kagome giggled. She stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"Promise you won't kill Kouga?" She said. He had a dazed look in his eyes but he nodded without realizing what he'd just promised her.

Then it came back to him. "Dammit. You're sneaky." He said. "I'll call you tomorrow." He leaned down and also gave her a peck on the lips and left.

Kagome shut the door. She walked into her room and fell on her bed. She had a great night. Her life was getting back on the right track. Her life was hers to control now.

Inuyasha was starting to open himself up to her. She saw his angry and possessive side. She was surprised how possessive he could be. It was their first date. Maybe it was a youkai thing?

Kagome got up and changed into her pajamas. She crawled into her nice comfy bed and went to sleep.

Kagome woke up on Saturday feeling great. It was noon and she decided to go pick something up for lunch. Well technically it would be her breakfast. Kagome took a shower, got dressed, and locked up her apartment.

She decided that she'd go to the diner. When she got there she ordered her usual. She paid for it and started walking home. Someone grabbed her arm. She got scared and was about to punch them.

The person managed to catch her fist. She opened her eyes and looked up. It was Inuyasha. She let out a breath, and then hit him. "Itai. What was that for?" He asked.

"For scaring me. Do you always try to scare young women?" Kagome asked.

"No, just you." He teased. "Do you always try to hit anyone that touches you?"

"As a matter of fact I do." Kagome smiled.

"So what are you doing out?" Inuyasha asked.

"I was getting some food." She pointed to the bag. "What are you doing?"

"Same thing. I just woke up so I thought I'd get something to eat." He said.

"Oh well I should be going now. Food tastes better while its warm." She started walking away.

"Kagome." She turned around. "Never mind."

"Inuyasha would you like to come eat with me at my house?" She asked. She watched Inuyasha smile and nod. She waited for him to get his food and then went to her apartment.

When they got there Kagome grabbed some plates. They both sat down at her table and watched TV while they ate. Kagome put the plates in the kitchen and sat back down on the couch.

"So where are your mom and brother?" Inuyasha asked.

"Out." Kagome said. She wasn't really lying. They were `out'.

Inuyasha was trying real hard to control himself. He wanted to kiss Kagome so badly. He was scared of what she'd do. What if she thought they were moving too fast? What if she didn't like his kiss? So many questions ran through his head.

"Inuyasha are you ok?" Kagome asked him. Inuyasha shook his head of his thoughts. "I asked you if you wanted something to drink." She said.

`Drink.' He thought. He looked at her lips. `Fuck it.' He reached for her and slammed his lips over hers.

Kagome was a little shocked at first but kissed him back. He licked her lips for entrance and she opened letting him in. The kiss was hard but gentle at the same time. Soon they had to break for air.

Inuyasha kissed and nipped at her neck. He didn't want to stop. She felt and tasted so good. He thought he'd died and gone to heaven. Kagome was gasping and he could hear it all. He liked the noises that came out of her mouth.

He was about to go back to her lips when the phone rang. Kagome sat up and made sure it was the phone. She blushed and said, "I'll be right back." Inuyasha was mad. He could hear Kagome but not the person on the phone.

"Hello."

"…"

"Hi mom."

"…"

"What he's in the hospital? What happened?"

"…"

"I'll come to the hospital to visit."

"…"

"But…"

"…"

"Hai I'll stay here. Call me later and let me know how he's doing?"

"…"

"Bye mom." Kagome hung up the phone. Who could have done that? Who would do something like that?

"What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked. He heard some of the conversation. All he knew was that someone was in the hospital.

"My grandpa is in the hospital. They found him beaten up pretty badly at the foot of the steps of the shrine." She said. "They don't know who did it. The doctors say he'll be fine."

Inuyasha hugged her. What was he supposed to say? He wasn't used to comforting people. He just held her. He didn't know what else to do.

"Arigato Inuyasha." She said.

Inuyasha looked at his watch. It was two thirty. He was supposed to be home at two. He was late for his training. Sess was going to kill him. "I hate to have to leave you like this but my brother is going to kill me because I'm late." He said.

"It's ok. I'm fine. Sorry to make you late." She said.

Inuyasha kissed her. "It's not your fault." He said and left. "I'll call you later tonight."

Kagome smiled. She picked up the phone to call Shippo. Maybe they could hang out. She needed something to take her mind off of recent events.
