Chapter 13

Trouble

Inuyasha woke up hours after he'd fallen asleep. He felt great. He felt complete. He opened his eyes. He was shocked to find Kagome laying on his chest. Then he'd remembered what happened. That brought a smile to his face.

He ran his fingers through her hair. What were they going to do now? They couldn't just ignore being mates. It was all instinct. Naraku was bound to find out soon. His thoughts were interrupted when Kagome woke up.

Kagome woke up and opened her eyes. She looked around the room. She then remembered what happened when she saw her clothes laying on the floor next to Inuyasha's. She felt Inuyasha laugh.

"What's so funny?" She asked.

Inuyasha gently grabbed her chin and kissed her. "Good morning to you too." He said.

"Good morning." She said. "No what's so funny?"

"Just the look on your face when you woke up." He said.

Kagome hit his chest playfully. "I should cook something I'm starving. Are you hungry?"

"Hai." He said.

"Let's go see what's in the kitchen." Kagome said. She looked down forgetting she was naked. "We should get dressed first."

Kagome grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around herself and walked to her closet. Inuyasha started putting his clothes on. Kagome picked out a yellow dress to wear. She put on her underwear and bra on and slipped the dress over her head.

Her and Inuyasha walked into the kitchen. "How about ramen?" Kagome asked. Inuyasha nodded. Like he would ever turn down ramen. He sat on the couch and watched TV as Kagome cooked.

She brought the noodles into the living room and they both ate in silence. Kagome thought about what she was going to do. She dropped her chopsticks. "What's wrong Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"Naraku is going to kill me." Kagome said.

"He is not going to kill you. I won't let him." He wrapped his arms around her. "I told you I would protect you and I will."

"What do we do now?" Kagome asked. "He'll find out soon. I'm surprised he doesn't know about it now."

"How about we call Sango and Miroku and call them over here?" Inuyasha said. Kagome nodded. He picked up the phone and called Sango and Miroku. He told them where she lived and to get there as soon as possible.

"You didn't regret anything did you Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"Of course not." Kagome said. She blushed. "I never did that before."

"Naraku never forced you?" He asked. Who wouldn't want her?

"No. I always thought of something or did something to stop him. He started believing me. Then I left." Kagome said. She was still blushing.

Inuyasha laughed. "What's so funny now?" Kagome asked.

"You're just so red." He said.

"Well excuse me if I'm a little embarrassed about it. You've probably done it plenty of times." Kagome said.

Inuyasha pounced on her making her fall on the ground. "I haven't. You're my first and only one. You'll be my last too. I'm not letting you go." He said.

"Inuyasha." Kagome said. He leaned down and nipped at her neck.

He licked his mark. "This mark means you're mine until the day we die." He said. He leaned over her more and kissed her. He pushed his tongue past her lips for a taste.

"Well well well." Miroku said. Inuyasha and Kagome broke the kiss.

"We rush over here like you asked. What exactly did you need help with?" Sango asked.

"If you need help on how to do it I would be more than happy to instruct…" Miroku said but was hit on the head before he could say more.

"I doubt very much they need that kind of help." Sango yelled. "Nice place you got Kagome."

Kagome blinked. Sometimes it seemed like Sango had multiple personalities. "Arigato."

"Don't you guys ever knock?" Inuyasha asked. He helped Kagome off the ground and sat on the couch.

"We did knock. You were just to busy with Kagome you didn't hear it." Miroku said.

They all sat down on Kagome's couch. Inuyasha explained what happened. He left out the mating part. Miroku hadn't been told anything. "That's an interesting predicament you're in." Miroku said.

"Ya think?" Inuyasha said sarcastically.

"I honestly don't know what you could do?" Sang said. "Is Naraku a youkai?" She asked Kagome.

"Hai." Kagome said.

"What kind?"

"I don't really know. I've never seen his kind of powers before. It's like a mixture of everything." Kagome said.

"That doesn't help very much." Miroku said. "What we need to do is get rid of him."

"How will we get rid of him?" Inuyasha asked. "This isn't like the olden days when you can murder someone and not get caught."

"We could let the police handle him." Sango said.

"Won't work." Kagome said. "I've tried. He's got the police at his beck and call."

"How is it that Naraku got so powerful?" Miroku asked.

"I don't know. I was never aloud near his `work'. I was always waiting in an office or something." Kagome said.

"He's a very powerful teenager." Miroku said.

"He's a youkai so he's not really a teenager." Kagome said. "He told me he's been around for a long time."

"Why the hell would he go after an innocent girl like you? You're not even eighteen yet." Inuyasha yelled. "Maybe Sesshomaru will know something. He's been around since forever. He knows a lot anyway."

"He must really like you Kagome." Sango said. Inuyasha glared at Sango.

"Why do you say that?" Kagome asked.

"Well Inuyasha hates asking Sesshomaru for favors." Sango said.

"Really?" Kagome asked. All he's done since she met him was ask Sesshomaru for favors.

"Hai and by that claiming mark on your neck I'd have to say he loves you." Sango teased.

"That's it." Inuyasha said. He was going to get her for that. Kagome put a hand on his shoulder. His anger melted away. "How long have you known about it?"

"Since you were both on the ground. Her dress isn't going to cover that up." Sango said. "I just thought I'd mess with you."

"Now's not the time to be messing around." Inuyasha said. "We need to stop Naraku from doing all this shit."

"I have to call Shippo." Kagome said and dialed Shippo's number. She asked him whenever he had the time to come over. Shippo said he could be there in ten minutes.

"Why do you have to call him?" Inuyasha asked.

"He's been helping me since I moved here. He wanted me to tell him if something happened." Kagome said.

Ten minutes later Shippo knocked on the door. He sat down with the others thinking of how they should get rid of Naraku. "If we took him to the police what do you think they'd do? We don't have much proof. Besides he also has power over them." Shippo said.

"How is it that he has power over the police?" Miroku asked.

"Well he does have a lot of money." Kagome said.

"How much money?" Sango asked.

"I'm not sure but I guess it's a lot. He always took me out to fancy restaurants and bought me expensive stuff. He traveled by plane at least three times a month." Kagome said.

"That's a lot of money." Sango said. "How could he have gotten all that?"

"I have no idea. He never tells me anything. He knew I would have turned him in." Kagome said.

"I'll have Sesshomaru see if he can dig up some dirt about him." Inuyasha said. "Sesshomaru is pretty powerful."

"What does he do?" Kagome asked.

"You mean you don't know?" Sango asked. Kagome shook her head. "He owns the biggest and most successful hotels in Japan."

"I didn't know that? Which ones does he own?" Kagome asked.

"There are too many to name." Miroku said. "Besides he knows some very powerful people."

"You never told me that." Kagome said. She looked at Inuyasha.

"Feh you never asked." Inuyasha said.

Shippo stood up and sniffed. "I smell Naraku." He said.

"Are you sure?" Kagome asked. Inuyasha hugged her from behind.

"He's getting closer we need to leave now." Shippo said.

"Where do we go? We're on the fourth floor of the building." Kagome said.

"Isn't there a fire escape or something?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai, over…" Kagome started. Miasma came from under the door. Everyone coughed. "You…guys need…to get out. This miasma…numbs your body." Kagome said.

"We can't…leave you…alone." Sango said.

They all fell to the ground. Shippo passed out from the smell. His nose was more sensitive than everyone else's. Besides Inuyasha but he put his shirt over his nose so it wouldn't be so bad. His body was becoming numb.

The door was suddenly ripped off its hinges. The door was thrown to the side and Naraku stepped out of the mist. He looked around. "Nice place you got Kagome."
