Chapter 29

Exhausted

Miroku and Sango got back to the hotel the next day. They had slept most of the day. Kagome was still sleeping when they knocked on the door. She insisted on staying up and waiting for them to get back.

She couldn't stay awake for too long and ended up falling asleep at around two in the morning. Inuyasha and Shippo didn't need as much sleep as humans did so they were awake by the time Miroku and Sango got back.

They went to their room and took Shippo with them when Inuyasha kicked them out. He laid down with Kagome now that Shippo had been kicked out. He'd been trying to get rid of him all day. He finally removed him by force.

Kagome was awakened when the phone rang. No one had the number to their room that they could remember. Inuyasha walked over and picked up the phone. Kagome went to the bathroom.

Kagome walked out of the bathroom to see Inuyasha changing clothes. "Get dressed." He said.

"Why?" Kagome asked.

"That damn detective wants to see all of us at the station. Mushin called the police about Miroku's hand." Inuyasha said.

Kagome got dressed and Inuyasha went to tell the others to get ready. Figures the old man would want to involve the police. Couldn't blame him though it was his grandfather.

Ten minutes later everyone was ready to go. "So my grandfather called the police?" Miroku said.

"That's what I said. Don't you listen?" Inuyasha said.

"That's odd. I told him not to do anything like that." Miroku said.

"No, you told him not to tell your parents." Sango said.

"I must've left out the police part then." Miroku said.

"You dumb ass." Inuyasha said.

Kagome hit Inuyasha. "Baka he's had a bad day leave him alone."

"Keh." Inuyasha said. They all walked the rest of the way in silence.

When they got to the police station the person at the desk was the same one that was there before. Inuyasha growled but said nothing. "Hello we're here to see Detective Aoki." Kagome said.

"Hold on I'll get him." The lady snapped. She gave Inuyasha a dirty look before leaving. She came back with the detective following her.

"Hello Kagome, Shippo. Come on follow me and we'll try to get you out of here as soon as possible." The detective said. Everyone followed him to a room in the back.

"How about we start with introductions. I'm Detective Aoki, Ryo. I've already met Kagome and Shippo. Oh Inuyasha I didn't know you came too." The detective said.

Inuyasha growled but was cut off by Miroku. "I'm Miroku and this is Sango." Miroku said and pointed to Sango.

"Ah you're the one we got the phone call about." He said.

"Hai." Miroku said.

"Can you explain to me what happened?" Ryo asked.

Miroku explained what happened (He left the part about the dolls out.) and everyone else told their side of the story. "Well I don't know who can do those kinds of curses but we'll try to figure it out." Ryo said.

"Why are you doing both cases?" Kagome asked. "Do you think there's some sort of connection?"

"No, we don't think there's anything like that. If there were I would let you know. It's just that I excel at these kinds of mysteries." Ryo said.

"I see." Kagome said.

"Well if that's all you have to ask then we should be going." Inuyasha said. He didn't like the detective and didn't want to have to be near him longer than he had to.

"I'm done so you can go now. I'll give you a call if we figure anything else out." Ryo said.

They all left the station. Inuyasha gave the lady at the front desk a dirty look, which she returned full force. "Well that was pointless." Inuyasha said.

"Man Inuyasha you were right about him liking Kagome." Miroku said.

"Yeah I though you were lying. Now that I saw it for myself you were telling the truth." Shippo said.

"See Kagome I was right. He does like you." Inuyasha said.

"I still don't see it." Kagome said.

"I didn't notice anything either." Sango said.

"He kept looking at you even when he was asking me questions." Miroku said.

"Hai it's true." Shippo said.

"I still don't see it." Kagome said.

"How about we go do something?" Sango said. "We haven't done anything fun for a while and I'm bored."

"Sango's right I'm bored cooped up in the room all day." Kagome said.

"Might as well make the best of today we have school tomorrow." Miroku said.

"Where should we go?" Shippo asked.

"You shouldn't have asked that." Inuyasha said.

"Why not?" Miroku and Shippo asked at the same time.

"Lets go to the mall." Sango said.

"Hai, I need to get some things anyway." Kagome said.

"I don't want to go to the mall." Shippo said.

"You guys can do something else and Kagome and I will go to the mall." Sango said.

"We can't leave you unprotected." Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha's right." Miroku said.

"To the mall it is then." Sango said and they both headed towards the shopping center. Both girls were in the front of the guys talking about what they were going to buy while the guys followed with their heads down. A whole day of shopping with girls was not going to be fun.

Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo all collapsed on the floor in Inuyasha and Kagome's room. The girls had worn them out with them running in and out of stores.

They would go to one store and find something they like then they would decide they wouldn't buy it. About an hour later they would decide that they wanted it and they would have to go back.

While the girls ran around the guys would try and keep up with them. Kagome would appear out of nowhere and hand Inuyasha a bag then Sango would do the same with Miroku. When they couldn't hold anything else they handed their bags to Shippo.

Finally hours later they decided they had enough stuff. After they left the mall Kagome remembered that they had forgotten all the snacks that Miroku had bought the other day. So they decided to go to the grocery store to buy some more.

Then they went to the video store because they never had anything to watch on TV. Then Kagome stopped by a store to get some stationary so she could write her family. By the time they got back to the hotel it was too late to eat dinner so they had to go out again.

The girls waited downstairs while Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo went upstairs and dropped everything off. Then they came back down and they had to walk to a restaurant to get something to eat.

That's how they ended up on the floor. "Oh come on you guys can't be that tired." Sango said.

"Ha." The guys said.

"Inuyasha you're a hanyou and Shippo you're a full youkai how did we tire you out?" Kagome asked.

"Yeah know we're supposed to be weaker than you so how come we're not tired or anything?" Sango asked.

"That's because we lost you and then ran around trying to find you. Then you made us carry your bags. Then you made us run around everywhere after we left the damn mall." Inuyasha said.

"If anyone can tire us out it's you women and your shopping." Miroku said.

"Fine then you can go into the other room and sleep while we watch movies." Sango said.

Kagome put in a movie but the guys decided to watch because they didn't want to move all the way into the other room. Inuyasha laid on the bed with Kagome, Shippo sat against the bed and Miroku and Sango sat on the floor.

In minutes the guys were asleep. "We wore them out." Sango laughed.

"I know." Kagome laughed.
