Chapter 32

Sango's Fine

Kagome noticed the stares. "I'll tell you about it later I want to see how Sango is."

"I want to know what happened now." Inuyasha said.

"Nothing bad happened I want to know how Sango is." Kagome said.

Inuyasha growled. "Fine lets go see if Miroku has heard anything yet."

They walked through the hospital and found Miroku sitting in a chair. "Miroku how is she?" Kagome asked.

"She's fine. The doctor said she will have to rest because they had to stitch up her back but she'll be ok." Miroku said with relief.

"Can we go see her?" Kagome asked.

"Not yet." Sesshomaru said. "She hasn't woken up yet. What happened to you?"

She sat down in a chair. "On my way here I was attacked by some girl named Kagura. I got hurt but not too badly. Then Naraku came..."

"Naraku showed up?" Miroku yelled.

"What did that bastard do?" Inuyasha yelled.

"If you let me finish." Kagome said. They both calmed down wanting to hear what happened. "He picked Kagura up and said `I'll be back soon.' And he disappeared again. Then I ran over here."

"He's not getting anywhere near you Kagome." Inuyasha said. He sat down next to her and held her hand.

"I want to see Sango. I think I can heal her wounds faster if I use my miko powers." Kagome said.

"Shouldn't you heal yourself first?" Miroku asked.

"No, if I do that I won't have enough strength to heal her enough. My wounds aren't that bad. Besides I'm the reason she's hurt." Kagome said with her head down. Before anyone could say anything she got up to look for a doctor.

Inuyasha got up to follow her but Sesshomaru stopped him. "Let her help Sango first." He said. Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She was talking to a doctor. He nodded and sat back down.

Kagome had talked to a doctor about Sango. They were going to let Kagome heal her as much as she could. They needed to remove the stitches while she was still asleep. She waited until they were done.

When they came out of the room they nodded for her to go ahead in. Kagome saw her friend hooked up to tubes and machines. She felt guilty. She walked over to Sango and kneeled down next to her. Her hands hovered over Sango's stomach and she concentrated on healing her. Hopefully she would be able to heal her enough so she could get out of the hospital.

When Kagome had done all she could she fell back against the wall breathing hard. She had used a lot of energy to heal her. She would need a doctor to see how much she had done. With the strength left in her she got up and shakily walked around looking for a doctor.

She'd finally found the one she had been talking to earlier. He was talking to Miroku about what Kagome was going to do. They all turned around to see her slumping against a wall. "I healed Sango." She said in a weak voice.

The doctor took knew what she meant and went to Sango's room. Kagome watched him walk in and finally collapsed on the floor. Inuyasha ran to her and picked her up. He shook her gently. "Kagome." He said.

"Don't shake her like that. She still has wounds." Miroku said.

"You can ask the doctor to look at her when he comes back." Sesshomaru said.

When the doctor walked up to the group Miroku jumped up. "How is she?"

"She's fine. Her wound is closed but she'll still need to rest for a while. You can take her home tomorrow. We want to keep an eye on her until then." The doctor said.

"Can you take a look at Kagome? She collapsed after you left." Miroku said. He pointed to her. Inuyasha was holding her in his arms.

"She's fine. I told her what would happen if she healed her friend. She said she didn't care." The doctor said.

"Why isn't she waking up?" Inuyasha asked.

"She used a lot of energy healing her friend. If you had seen Sango's wounds earlier to what it is now you'd know she had tremendous power." The doctor said. The intercom called his name. "I have to go. Talk to the nurse at the front desk and she'll tell you what you need to know."

"Arigato." Miroku said. The doctor left. "Shall we see the nurse?"

They all got up and walked to the front desk. The nurse looked confused at why Inuyasha was holding Kagome but said nothing. "You can pick up the patient tomorrow after five if everything is stable. You can all go home since visiting hours are over." The nurse said.

"Can at least one of us stay with her so she knows what's going on?" Miroku asked.

"We don't usually do this but since the miko helped out and the girl has no idea what happened the doctor will allow one of you to stay."

"I'll stay." Miroku said.

"We'll come by tomorrow." Inuyasha said. Miroku nodded.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru left with Kagome. Miroku walked into Sango's room and sat next to her. He held her hand and squeezed. He was surprised that she squeezed back. She opened her eyes and looked around. She finally saw Miroku.

Miroku saw the confused look on her face and decided to explain. "You were attacked and Inuyasha and I took you to the hospital. To make a long story short Kagome was able to speed up your healing but you'll need to rest for a while."

"Where is Kagome?" Sango asked. If she healed her she wanted to thank her.

"She passed out after she healed you. She'll be fine she just needs some rest. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are with her." Miroku said. "How do you feel?"

"I'm just tired and my back is a little sore." Sango said. "How come you didn't go with them?"

"I wanted to be here when you woke up." Miroku said. "You were here for me when I was hurt."

"Arigato Miroku." Sango said.

"You don't have to thank me. I'll always be here for you. I love you." Miroku said. He kissed her hand.

Sango was shocked. She didn't think he'd ever say that to her. "I love you to Miroku." Sango smiled.

Miroku smiled. "Go to sleep I'll be here when you wake up." Sango nodded and fell back asleep.

Inuyasha walked into his room and laid Kagome down on the bed. He pulled the blanket over her. "So Sesshomaru what happened?" Inuyasha asked.

"A package came and it had a doll that looked like Sango and a coat." Sesshomaru said. "I called the school to check on Sango and I was told she was injured. I told Kagome and she took off toward the hospital."

"Why would he send a coat?" Inuyasha asked.

"There are many unanswered questions. The only way to find the answers is to ask Naraku." Sesshomaru said.

"I don't want any answers from him. I'll kill him first." Inuyasha said.

"From what I know about Naraku he is very tricky. You must always be on your guard around him." Sesshomaru said. "There are bandages in that bag next to the window."

"I don't care if he's tricky. He's dead once I get a hold of him." Inuyasha growled. He walked over and grabbed the bandages.

"I'll be in my office." Sesshomaru said. He left the room and shut the door behind him.

Inuyasha cleaned and bandaged all of Kagome's wounds. Most of them were just scratches. The worst cuts were on her arms and legs. He put the first aid kit away and laid down next to Kagome. He kissed her neck and wrapped his arms around her.

The next morning Kagome woke up with a headache. She sat up and rubbed her temple. She wondered how Sango was. "What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nothing. How's Sango?" Kagome asked. She laid back down and faced Inuyasha.

"She's fine. She can come back today but she'll need to rest." Inuyasha said. "Why didn't you tell me what would happen if you healed her?"

"If I had told you, you just would've argued with me and I wouldn't have been able to do it. I didn't mean to worry you." Kagome said.

"You're too reckless." Inuyasha said.

"What time is it?" Kagome asked.

"About three."

"In the afternoon?" Kagome was surprised.

"Yeah so?" Inuyasha said.

"I didn't think I would sleep this long."

"You needed your rest. Do you want to go see Sango?"

"Hai." Kagome said.

"Get dressed. We'll go eat first. Sango can't leave until after five if the doctor says it's ok."

Kagome nodded and got up. She took some medicine for her headache and took a shower. She got dressed and fixed her hair. After Inuyasha was ready they left.

They had to stop by to see Sesshomaru. They asked him to have a car sent to the hospital at five. The walk would be too far for Sango to walk. She would probably be too tired to anyway.

After they ate they checked on Shippo. They filled him in on what happened. When he came back to the hotel and found no one there he stayed with his aunt. They also found out that Shippo was going to live with his aunt from now on.

"I'm glad Shippo can stay with his aunt." Kagome said.

"Yeah well its better for him to stay with family." Inuyasha said. They walked into the hospital and headed towards Sango's room. They knocked and walked in. Sango was awake and sitting up in her bed talking with Miroku.

"Sango you're ok." Kagome shouted. She ran to her and gave her a hug.

"I'm fine thanks to you Kagome. Miroku told me how you healed me." Sango said hugging her back.

"It's my fault you were hurt." Kagome said.

"You can't help what Naraku does Kagome. I just want to help you." Sango said.

"We all do. So don't blame yourself for what's happened." Miroku said.

"He's right Kagome." Inuyasha said. "We don't want to see you like this."

Kagome nodded and stood up. "How about we get you out of this hospital." She said.
