Chapter 34
A Purpose

Miroku told Sango about the detective. "Well we can't do anything. Our friends are injured." Sango said.

"I know. We'll just worry about getting them healed." Miroku said.

Two days later and Kagome still hadn't woken up. Inuyasha had woken up the day before. He'd gotten up and crawled over to Kagome to make sure she was ok. He ended up opening another wound because of it.

Sango had yelled at him after she'd wrapped his wound. She also told him that Kagome hadn't woken up yet. They didn't know why. Miroku thought she might be in a coma or something.

They were all hoping she wasn't though. Inuyasha was healing pretty fast. From what his wounds were it would've taken him at least a week to heal. It had only been two days and he was able to walk around without hurting himself.

He was sleeping now. His arm was around Kagome. Sango and Miroku were sleeping in their room. Inuyasha was woken up by a knock at the door. "Come in." He mumbled.

The door opened and Inuyasha looked up. He expected Sango or Miroku to come in. Instead of either of them it was the detective. "What the hell do you want?" Inuyasha growled. He quickly covered Kagome.

"I'm here to talk. I was told you were in bad condition so I came by instead." Ryo said.

"Sango, Miroku." Inuyasha yelled.

"What?" Miroku yelled from the other room.

"Get your asses in here." Inuyasha yelled. He heard some stumbling around the room before they ran into the room. "I didn't interrupt anything did I?"

"Of course not." Sango said. "When did you get here?" She asked the detective.

"Just now. Since you couldn't come to the station I thought I'd come to you." Ryo said.

"What do you want? As you can see we're not up to much right now." Inuyasha said.

"Kagome must be a heavy sleeper if she didn't wake up from any of your yelling." Ryo said.

"She was injured." Sango said.

"Oh? How did that happen?" Ryo asked.

"It was an accident." Miroku said.

"Mind telling me the details?" Ryo said. He pulled out a notebook and a pen.

"Can you come back another time? I'm very tired and I'm worried about Kagome." Inuyasha said.

"I just need to know if you've gotten anything from someone named Naraku?" Ryo asked. Everyone froze. "So I'm right?"

"How did you know we've been getting stuff?" Miroku asked.

"Some anonymous person called the other day. That's why I've been trying to contact you. Can you show me the stuff?" Ryo said.

Inuyasha looked at Miroku and nodded.

"I'll get it." Miroku said. He walked out of the room. He had to go to Sesshomaru's office to get it.

Inuyasha got up and securely wrapped the blanket around Kagome.

"How about we go to my room so we can make sure that Kagome gets her rest." Sango said. As much as Inuyasha hated to leave Kagome he agreed. He didn't want the detective to be around Kagome.

They went into her room. Miroku soon came in afterwards. He knew they moved into his and Sango's room. "Here's the stuff." Miroku said. He dropped the dolls and jacket on the bed.

"Why would he send this stuff?" Ryo asked.

"Well every time he sent a doll something would happen to whoever it looked like. We don't know what the jacket is for." Sango said.

"Oh really." Ryo said. He picked up the jacket and looked at it. It looked like a plain jacket. "Have any idea what he might've sent it for?"

"We just said we didn't." Inuyasha said. The guy was really starting to piss him off. He wasn't in a good mood.

The detective turned around with the jacket. Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku looked at each other in confusion. He quickly turned around and threw the jacket at them. They all jumped back.

"Gomen, I had to do it." The detective laughed.

"You bastard." Inuyasha said. The jacket started moving. They all jumped back again.

"What the hell?" Sango said.

Suddenly the sleeves of the jacket shot out at them. The jacket wrapped around them. "What the fuck?" Inuyasha yelled.

"I guess the jacket had a purpose after all." Ryo laughed.

"You're behind this?" Miroku yelled. They all struggled to get free.

"Not really. I'm helping out is all. Hope you feel better." Ryo said. He walked into Inuyasha and Kagome's room.

"You bastard! Stay the hell away from Kagome." Inuyasha yelled. From the doorway he could see the detective pick her up.

"How can we get free?" Sango said.

"I don't know but that fucker took Kagome." Inuyasha yelled.

"We need to calm down." Miroku yelled. "Then we can find away to get free."

"Don't give me that bullshit." Inuyasha growled. "I'm going to kill that bastard."

As they were struggling the jacket vanished. "What the hell?" Inuyasha said.

"It was probably temporary." Miroku said.

"I don't give a fuck. Let's find Kagome." Inuyasha yelled. He was gone before anyone could stop him.

"Damn." Miroku said. "Sango go tell Sesshomaru what happened and stay here."

"Hai." Sango said. She headed towards Sesshomaru's office while Miroku took after Inuyasha.

As soon as Inuyasha got outside he tried to sniff out Kagome's scent. He couldn't smell her. All traces of her were gone.

"Inuyasha!" Miroku yelled. "Can you smell her scent?"

"No, it's gone." Inuyasha said.

"Let's check out the police station." Miroku said.

"Sesshomaru, we have a problem." Sango said.

"What is it?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Kagome was taken by the detective." Sango said. "The jacket held us together while he took off with her."

"So there was a reason for the jacket." Sesshomaru said. "Let me guess, Inuyasha took off as soon as he was free."

"Hai." Sango said.

"Tell me exactly what happened." Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha and Miroku almost knocked down the door of the police station. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at them. They ran up to the front desk.

"We need to talk to Detective Ryo." Miroku said.

"He's not here. He took vacation leave yesterday. He'll be gone for the next two weeks." The lady at the front desk said.

"Dammit." Inuyasha cursed.

"We have no leads now." Miroku said.

"I don't give a fuck. I'm going to search throughout the whole damn city until I find her." Inuyasha yelled.

"You can't do that with your wounds." Miroku said.

"I don't give a damn." Inuyasha said. He ran out of the police station.

Miroku noticed everyone was still staring. "Gomen." He laughed nervously. He left the building. `Maybe Shippo might know something.' He thought. He headed towards Shippo's place.

He called for a taxi. He got in and told the driver where to go. When they got there he paid the driver and walked to the front door. He knocked on the door. "Hello, can I help you?" A lady asked.

"Um I was looking for Shippo." Miroku said.

"Of course. Shippo, someone's at the door for you." The lady said.

Shippo went to the front door. "Hey Miroku." He said.

"Kagome's gone." Miroku said.

"What?" Shippo yelled.

"I'll explain it what happened when we get to the hotel." Miroku said.

"Hai, let me tell my aunt I'm leaving." Shippo said. After a few minutes he came back to the door. "Let's go."
