Kagome walked into the apartment feeling overwhelmed. “To say that I am tired would be an understatement,” she called to her friends as they made their way into the apartment.
Rin smiled, “you can say that again,” she replied with a laugh as she discarded her shoes.
“Oh,” she replied forcing the other girls attention her way, “what did they say about the competition?”
It wasn’t that she technically wanted to finish it, with Takahashi and Yoshida in the hospital and all, but that was their regular spot and she did not want to disappoint the fans.
Sango waved her hand at her as she made her way over to plop on the couch, “they are just going to finish the final round next week before our show.”
Ayame ran her hand through her red hair, “I for one am glad that we didn’t have to stay. I am so tired.”
Sango laughed at her as she chucked a pillow her way, “hey, you know the rules, no sleeping in here. Get your butt in bed,” she told the other girl as she pointed further into their apartment.
Ayame defiantly laid more fully onto the comfortable cushions, “just a couple minutes Kimura-sama.”
Sango felt her cheeks heating up as the glances of the other girls focused on her.
“Oh look she's blushing!” Rin gushed.
Kagome let out a laugh, “that’s because any type of honorific added to her name reminds her of Sakamoto,” she leaned in as she mocked whispered to the other girls.
Which only worked to encourage the grins and the nods of Rin and Ayame.
“Well, look at the time, it is getting rather late, and we have class in the morning,” she stated as she made to bend her way out of the front room and hide in her bedroom for the night. Going through a bout of gossip with the three other girls with that man in question was not something she wanted to do at the moment.
“Oh, come on!” Rin cut in. “We are not going to tease you,” with the roll of Sango's eyes, she hurried to say, “other then what I said.”
Sango looked around the room as her two other friends briefly nodded their heads.
Knowing she had been defeated, Sango gave a deflated sigh, “fine,” she replied as she moved Kagome over on the couch to make herself comfortable, “but we still have class in the morning, so we need to make this quick,” she reminded, knowing that the warning would fall on deaf ears anyway.
Rin rolled her eyes, “yes, we heard you the first time, haha.”
Ayame tried to stifle a laugh.
Sango felt her mouth curving up, “well, as long as you girls heard me.”
“I still can't believe that Yoshida and Takahashi got ruffed up,” Kagome cut into the silent air.
Ayame slouched slightly on the couch. She had hopped that the conversation had moved that point by now, “yeah, it's crazy.”
Her eyes widened as she felt Kagome look at her.
“Why did you say it like that?”
Then came Sango and Rin's glances.
'Damn.'
Of course, what Kagome was talking about was the slight sarcasm in her voice, 'Kagome is too attentive for her own good.'
“Oh, it's just cause I am tired. You know I really wouldn't really wish any harm to them,” she tried to appease the other girl.
Kagome looked at her hands, “yeah, it's just... I don’t know. The whole situation is just too weird, you know?”
Ayame hated hearing the things her friend didn't say aloud, but that were there loud and clear: 'I don’t believe what you guys told me. There is more to it.'
“You know how hard-headed Yoshida is,” Sango cut in brushing over the other girls worries. “Takahashi is probably no different.”
Ayame smiled at Sango, before she turned to Kagome, “I would definitely have to agree with Sango. With their luck, the police would throw them in jail!”
The other women in the room nodded their heads as laughter erupted.
“So,” Rin cut in, “what is going on between a certain new man and Kagome anyways?”
With the question, the blue eyed girl felt her face flush, “what? There is nothing going on.”
“Uh-huh,” Rin replied as she clucked her tongue. “Kagome I have seen you perform hundreds of times... never had I seen that,” she replied talking about her friends performance. “If he brings that kind of energy out in you... there better be some feelings there!”
The blush only increased on Kagomes' cheeks.
“The way you said that Rin,” Sango cut in holding her stomach.
Ayame laughed as she felt tears escape her eyes from the laughter.
Rin winked at her, “I have no idea what you guys are talking about,” she defended.
“I think it is time to go to bed,” Kagome grumbled.
“Come on, Kagome!” Rin rushed in. “I know you told Sango.”
Now it was Sango's turn to blush.
“Alright, what are you two hiding?” Ayame asked as she smelled the anxiety permeating from her two friends.
Kagome let out a deep breath, “Takahashi and I –” she stopped. How was she going to say this.
“Don't tell me,” Rin caught on, “you almost kissed him again!”
The excitement in her voice was hard to miss.
Kagome felt like her blush was going to become a permanent resident on her face.
“Kagome, that is nothing to be ashamed of! That man is hot!” Rin said unabashed.
“Rin,” Kagome grumbled in a small voice as her hands covered her face.
“Kawaii! Kagome has a crush!” Ayame started in on the teasing. It wasn’t that she particularly liked the other man, but if it kept her friend from those aweful questions, she would do what she knew she must.
“Oh kami,” Kagome begged, “kill me now!”
The laughter only grew in the room.
OooOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
“Tougaou, be reasonable!”
“Woman, that boy has tested my patience one too many times,” he thundered out.
“They are young,” she tried to get him to see reason.
“I suppose it is time for them to grow up then,” he replied as he pushed passed the double doors.
“Don't make me skin you mutt,” he heard a voice bark.
“Shut the hell up!”
The next sounds in the room sounded something akin to many, many items being blasted in all directions.
The woman behind him gave off a small sigh, “just don’t kill them.”
He felt a smile come to his face, “I can't promise anything,” he replied once he opened the door.
The sight in the room was not one he was unaccustomed to. Two dark haired males rolling around on the ground before one made a nice kick to the others' stomach, and then the offended man flipped through the air and started his decent towards the other mans face.
“Enough!”
The booming voice in the room caused both men to cease in their movements.
The slightly younger, and a hair shorter one felt his shoulders fall slightly at the presence in the room but continued to stand defiantly.
The smarter, older of the two males immediately fell to his face in reverence, “Master Taisho.”
The mentioned man stood proudly with his arms crossed over his chest as he looked to the other man who continued to stand in defiance and dishonor.
“You better bow pup,” he gritted out between his teeth.
The other man gritted his mouth in a disgusted frown but did as requested and slowly fell to his knees.
He heard the woman behind him shuffle her feet. He could tell that she was frightened. She exuded fear from her scent.
“At ease,” he told the two ruffians at his feet. His mate was getting a little too uncomfortable for his liking.
He watched as the two males in front of him slowly made their way back to their feet. His son flashing his eyes golden a moment,
“Disrespectful pup,” Tougaou mumbled under his breath, knowing that the two demons in the room could hear him.
He could feel his sons aura increase, and he sent him a stare, “What the fuck do you two think you are doing?” He bellowed.
The men in front of him squirmed slightly at the raw power behind the voice.
His son was the first to recover, “how am I getting yelled at?” He shot back. “This stupid wolf is the one that told.”
Kouga let his head fall slightly.
“What judgment best befits the unruly, wolf prince?”
Kouga felt his body slightly jump at the question. He knew what breaking the law meant. It was ground into him since a pup, but just the thought that the mutt tried to go after Kagome... he couldn’t handle it.
“The punishment the master deems fit,” he replied quickly, head still lowered out of respect for the Lord in his presence.
The older demon grumbled out a sigh, “relax Yoshida.”
“Sir?” Kouga cut in quickly, not believing his ears.
“What the hell!”
The Inu no Taisho turned to look at his unruly son. He could tell his temper was slipping.
“This fucker does not get off like this! He can't! I would have my ass handed to me if I had ever –”
“You don't make the judgment, InuYasha,” Tougaou told his son.
“The hell I don’t!”
“InuYasha,” Izayoi cut in behind him.
“You better calm down before I put you back in your place, son,” the Inu no Taisho warned.
InuYasha looked at his father as if he had lost his mid. “Fuck! I am out of here. Apparently leaving hasn't changed anything,” he grumbled as he grabbed his coat.
“InuYasha,” his mate called to try and follow their son.
Tougaou reached for her arm to stop her, “let him leave, Izzie.”
He could see the hurt in her eyes, but she did as he commanded. She had to submit to him. It was the law.
'I will need to give him a good ass kicking for this,' he grumbled to himself as he turned once more to the prince of the wolves.
“You have two minutes to explain yourself before I beat the hell out of you,” he warned as the pup before him immediately set out to save his hide.
OooOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
InuYasha made his way to his uptown apartment.
“What the hell is the old man thinking?” He barked out as he threw his keys across the small front room banging off the walls.
He made his way to the kitchen. Knowing that if he heated himself up some of his favorite food it would slightly appease him, although he knew that it in no way would make him feel like the punishment that wolf received was at all on par with what he deserved.
Before he made it to his kitchen however, an unwelcoming scent reached his nose as he turned around to face the abdicable foe.
“What the hell are you doing? And how did you get in?”
The unwanted scent revealed itself to be that of a tall man with cropped dark brown hair like the one that barked the question in the quiet apartment, however the distinct difference being the man before him stood tall with an air that demanded authority.
“And I was thinking that my little brother would be excited to see me after half a decade,” he replied as he stepped completely into the room.
InuYasha felt his bearings rise up, “that ain’t nearly long enough to get over you.”
His older brother rolled his eyes, “why must you insist on being the most unadulterated baka on the planet?”
InuYasha ground his feet into the carpet to keep himself from lunging at the other man, “What do you want, Sesshoumaru?”
With a flick of his wrist Sesshoumaru passed the younger man and made himself comfortable on the leather sofa, “father sent me to fetch the trash.”
“Keh,” InuYasha replied as he rolled his eyes, “if he thinks that I am going to be summoned to him after that shit wolf got away with yapping his mouth, he has another thing coming.”
Sesshoumaru turned to glare at his brother, “are you going to defy the Inu no Taisho.”
InuYasha felt an unconscious wave roll over his body at the way his brother stated the question, but he was not going to let him see that. “If father decides to give that wolf shit proper punishment then I will go but until then –”
Sesshoumaru made his way off the sofa and towards the door, “then we are leaving now.”
InuYasha felt his eyebrows knit together and his patience wear thin, “Don’t you have ears, idiot, I said – ”
His brother slightly nodded his head, “yes, yes I heard what you said, if the wolf received proper judgment.”
When Sesshoumaru reached the door he turned to glower at his brother, “it is time to go.”
With the way Sesshoumaru let that phrase leave his mouth, InuYasha knew better then to disagree. With a roll of his eyes and a loud grumbled of 'dogs with dildos up their asses,' he made his way to the door.
The small smile that made its way to Sesshoumaru's face could not be seen by InuYasha, but whatever that smile meant. It was not meant to be something good for the other man.
OooOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
InuYasha flew across the large room filled with sound proof barriers, so no random passerby could hear what unfortunate punishment was falling to the unlucky hanyou.
“Is that all you got old man?” InuYasha grumbled as the red liquid seeped out of his mouth. A promise of a nice injury that his attacker could use to his advantage if he knew how.
The older man in front of his narrowed his eyes at the response. His golden gaze calculating as he stared at his son, “you will learn the proper respect pup,” he barked out as he made his way towards the younger man.
InuYasha felt a smile curve his lips. Right when his attacker reached arm distance, he grabbed the other man and tumbled him towards the opposite wall. The contact was immediate as a large dow of dust and drywall descended to the floor.
But immediately the grin fell as he saw his father rush towards him and punch him in the side of the face.
InuYasha stumbled back about twenty feet and tried to catch his footing, but his father was just too fast and before he could recover, the older man was behind him and beginning to hurl him over his head.
“Tougaou!”
All movements ceased as the room looked to the small entryway. The small woman with black hair to her waist stomped her foot as she looked to the three men in the room.
The pure shock of the small woman was enough to loosen the Inu no Taisho's grip on his son and InuYasha face planted in the ground at his fathers feet. A good seven foot drop.
“Thanks dad,” InuYasha grumbled as he picked himself off the floor.
“Is this how we discussed his welcome home party would be?” She replied in a clipped tone.
Tougaou felt his head fall, knowing his mate was furious with him,“Izzie.”
“My welcome home?” InuYasha asked as he stood up fully.
“Yes baka,” Sesshoumaru replied leaving the room.
He turned to face his father. His long silve hair escaping its top knot from the throw he managed on him.
“How else would a son of the Inu no Taisho be welcomed back?” His father asked as he tapped his back a little too rough and sent InuYasha falling to his face again.
“Ow.”
Izayoi turned from the room with her arms still crossed over her tiny frame.
Tougaou felt his eyes widened. He knew he needed to rectify the situation. He didn’t need to literally be 'sent to the dog house'.
“Izzie, it was all in good fun,” he called as he ran after his mate.
InuYasha flipped over and sat on his bottom, arms laying over his knees and a slow smile came to his face, but only when he knew that no one could hear him did he finally state what he had been thinking since he walked into the house, “it's good to be back.”
OooOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
A/N: well, it has been forever. I had not planned on finishing this thing, but I knew that I could save it. It does have some potential. I will just have to change the direction a little bit. I have grown up a lot, since I started this story almost five years ago, and I think it will help me put a good spin on this.
So saying that, I am going to start writing for this thing again. I am looking for suggestions on what you guys would like to see addressed or what you guys would like to see happen. I am really open for anything, but that is not to say that I will implement it, but suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
Let me know what you all think, and I will try to work on this one again in the next week or two. I only have about 2 weeks of school left, before I get out for the winter holiday, so I can't guarantee anything before that, but just be on the look out. I am also working on One Question and another story, but I have plans to finish them all.
Thank you and sorry again for the super long hiatus.
