Kagome felt a small grin tug on her features. She loved when Halloween came around. The club they always played at went all out, and this year was no different.
This year was doom and gruel themed, and Aishiteru had to plan for that. They didn't normally play songs that were creeper per say, but she was willing to make an exception. They didn't do covers that often, so it gave her an opportunity to try her singing and dancing at something she wasn't the best at.
"So, you excited to see Taka-ha-shi?" Her friend asked her as she ran to catch up to the brown haired girl.
Kagome had to roll her eyes. Over the past week, her friends had this uncanny ability to
get the awkward to show at the most unwanted times throughout the day, and this instance was no different.
Kagome took a deep breath and lifted her shoulders in a shrug, "I will have to see him anyway, since they just have to see who is going to win the competition."
"Yeah, just act like you are not the happiest college girl here," Rin stated as she turned her nose up in the air.
"Is she trying to act like she doesn't care again?"
Rin turned towards Sango, "oh, you know she is. 'I will have to see him. We are both in the competition'" Rin mimicked her friend.
Kagome widened her eyes to glare at her friend, "I do not sound like a snobby prep girl."
Sango let a small chuckle escape her lips, "actually, sometimes you do."
Kagome turned her hard blue eyes on her other friend, "and here I was ready to enjoy tonight," she grumbled as her head lowered.
They reached the entrance to the club and right when they walked through the doors the owner stopped them, "Kagome."
Kagome looked over at the dark haired male. He had once been a good friend to her, but things got a little awkward last year when he told her that he had a crush on her, but she tried not to let it get to her. "hey Bankotsu, what's up?"
His blue eyes twinkled. They had a way of doing that whenever she managed to look his way. She knew deep down that he still had feelings for her, but ever since they had what she considered one of the most uncomfortable conversations she has ever had in a long while, their relationship slowly went back to normal. Well as normal as it could.
"I was thinking about finishing the competition in ten minutes. Does that sound good to you?"
Kagome felt her eye twitch, "ten minutes, wow. Um, is Takahashi here?"
She tried to crumble the flush that aligned her cheeks when she heard Rin snicker next to her ear, but it was a failed attempt if the concerned look that flashed across Bankotsu's face was any indication.
"Ah, actually, I haven't seen him," he replied, suddenly shy.
Kagome lowered her shoulders knowing that look he was giving her.
'Thanks Rin,' she grumbled as the turn of events really had everything to do with her friend's uncontrollable resistance to poke fun.
"Oh, well what if he doesn't show up in enough time?" Kagome could not help but wonder out loud, knowing that if the traffic had been just a little worse they would have yet to arrive.
Bankotsu lifted his shoulders, and his trademark grin was back in place, "let the little shit loose for all I care. We just need to move passed the competition to get on to the concert. I know your fans can't wait to see what you girls have planned for this year."
"Oh, they are definitely in for a treat," Ayame pipped up.
Her green angel costume looking stunning against her bright green eyes.
All four girls of Aishiteru were dressed like sexy angels to be frank. Each sporting a different color, but they figured that they should have some semblance of order.
The girls started to make their way to the back room when Bankotsu stopped Kagome.
She turned when she felt the way his fingers grasped her right arm.
She slowly looked into his bright blue eyes.
She could not deny that she had once felt something for the man in front of her. He was rather attractive, but... she felt her mind shake. It was a long time ago.
"Bankotsu?"
The breathy sigh was the small trigger the man needed as he slowly let her arm go, "I – I just wanted to tell you that you look stunning," he replied with a small reluctance.
Kagome gave him a small smile, knowing that he was trying to be decent and holding back with what he really thought.
"You don't look too bad yourself," she replied pointing at the mark on his forehead and the outfit that looked like something from the Sengoku jidai period.
He flashed her that grin she used to melt for, and he gave her a wink,"keep talking like that, and I might just have to show you what the back room is really used for."
Kagome let out a laugh, "Okay, I get the point."
She hurried to catch up to her friends, "see you soon."
He smiled, "See you."
As soon as she faced the other way, the grin fell from his face. "So she really has a thing for this half-breed," he replied as he turned towards the door. "I guess if he didn't show up it wouldn't be a bad thing."
He felt a mischievous grin form on his face, "not a bad thing at all."

"I swear. Did you see how he looked at her?"
Kagome turned her head to the side, 'what on earth are they talking about?'
"Oh I know," she heard the small voice of Sango. "It's just sad... you know? With everything that happened..."
Kagome turned the corner to see Rin lower her shoulders, "I know. I always thought they would make such a cute couple."
"Um," Kagome cut in. "Is this a conversation I should weigh in on?"
Sango and Rin turned to her with wide eyes, knowing that they had been caught.
"Oh, no," Rin started shaking her head.
"Yeah," Sango agreed easily. "That had nothing to do with you."
Kagome looked at the duo sitting on the couch skeptically, but didn't pry any further, "if you say so."
She saw the two women lower their shoulders.
"So, did you decide what you want to sing for the competition?"
Kagome nodded briefly, "yeah, it's a song I wanted to try and see if I could cover well enough, so
maybe we can start putting it in our sets."
Rin looked at her excitedly, "Oh, what song is it?"
Kagome opened her mouth to answer the other girl, "It's –"
"And now, before we get on to the special Halloween concert of Doom and Gruel, we have a special request to finish that fiery competition from last week."
Kagome smiled apologetically at the two in front of her and made her way to the stage. She knew that they wouldn't be able to hear her answer over this uproar now that Bankotsu got the crowds attention.
'They will know in about two minutes anyway,' she thought as a smile came to her face.
She chose "Night Nurse" by Cascada. She wanted to give a sexy show, since she knew that InuYasha would more then likely do the same.
She felt the small smile leave her face, 'but what if he doesn't show? With the way his injuries were...'
She furrowed her eyebrow, "Ayame did say that both Yoshida and Takahashi were fine," she mumbled to herself.
She took a deep breath, knowing that even if he decided not to appear the performance would still go on.
'But what about...?'
She shook her head, 'I am not going to think about that again!'
That look in his eyes when he peered down at her. The way he wet his lips. She knew what was to come.
"Oh kami," Kagome said to herself, feeling a nice blush paint its way onto her cheeks. 'Get your head on the performance,' she grumbled and right then Bankotsu announced her name.
"Show time."
When she walked out she felt the electricity of the place. That was one of the things she loved about being on stage. It gave her a power she didn't normally feel. This overwhelming feeling of absolute control.
She kissed Bankotsu on the cheek like she always did when he handed her the microphone as she looked into the darkened audience.
"How is everyone doing tonight?" She asked loudly. Her smile showing just how excited she was about the show.
The crowd roared back to her.
She nodded her head, "Before Aishiteru comes on, it looks like Takahashi and I have to finish our competition," she went on setting the stage.
Louder roars and screams reached her ears. Apparently, the competition was something her audience wanted to see.
She looked over the crowd and as her eyes scanned the back of the room, she saw him, and her thoughts halted.
'He looks so... delicious,' she thought and felt her face heat up.
He immediately caught her eye, and she had to turn her face away.
"Well, shall we get started?"
The crowd yelled back.
She smiled and held up two fingers, 'last minute switch of the song might do me some good,' she thought when her second choice song started booming over the speakers.
The dance her body began was in an unconscious lure. She moved to the beat, without reserve, and then she looked up.
"Green eyes are you looking at me,
I've been watching you, since you came into this place,
You stood at the back of the room, time stood still
As i memorized your face,"
She saw his eyes widen. She knew that he knew. Without a shadow of doubt, she sang this song to him.
She felt her confidence boost as she started interacting with the crowd. The movement was unconscious but instinctual. It was a primal need to appease her audience.
She looked back over where Takahashi was and was not surprised to see him walking towards her. He had this look in his eyes that sent a wild bloom explode inside of her. His orbs held this unabashed hunger in them, and if she was not careful... she would let him devour her – to be in complete submission to what his gaze held promise of.
He was almost to the stage now. She could tell his intent. He was stalking her like she was his prey. She felt a jolt of electricity flow through her body and rumble in her belly.
He jumped on the stage as the crowds pleasing reaction reached her ears, but she had this uncanny feeling that she was going to loose the battle. She started moving around his body to the beat. Sticking her lower half out to him, almost inviting him to do as he pleased, and she was not all surprised to see him groan at the way her body was moving, and she laughed.
“its just you and me, listen to the musics,
only you and me, this is right where,
this is right where i wanna be,
tonight, i wanna dance, dance,
i wanna feel like, we could last forever,
and the city lights, you know they shine for you
and if its alright, i wanna get you on the dance floor,
just you and me, get together on the dance floor,
tonight, tonight, i shine for you,
for you, i shine for you, i shine for you,
tonight i shine for you,
i shine for you”
When the song ended Kagome made to leave the stage, but fingers with elongated claws caught her as he brought his mouth to her ear.
"You are not going anywhere, wench," with that one phase she felt all control she had over her body waver as he moved to tell the DJ his song selection.
Her heart staggered in her chest.
Kagome was stuck in place. Takahashi looked so different tonight. Not different in a bad way, not at all, but different in a more feral way.
He turned towards her. Those glowing ocher eyes locking her in place. She felt her breath leave her lungs as a small grin overcame his features at how disgruntled he made her.
He made it over to her fast. Almost too quickly to be human, "if you don't stop drooling over me, this win is not going to be any fun," he taunted.
That snapped her out of her unknown inward battle, and she lightly pushed against his shoulders. "We will see who the crowd likes best," she told him as she crossed her arms and adamantly turned away from him.
His chuckle reached her ear. He leaned in closely once more. Too close. "Oh, I have no doubt that the winner will be me," and with that he nipped at her ear.
The crowd liking the reaction between the two started cheering, and Kagome felt her face heat up in flames.
"Kami, kill me now," she grumbled as her hands tried in a failing attempt to hide from the hundreds of people in the small building, although the real person she was trying to hide from was only a few feet from her.
What took longer then Kagome realized, Bankotsu finally came to the stage. She would have missed the dark glower he sent InuYasha's way had she still been trying to cover her face from the embarrassing act, but she caught it, and she had to lift her eyebrows as the men started sizing each other up, before Kagome handed Bankotsu the microphone.
His eyes flashed pain before the look was gone completely. Kagome knew that unless you really looked at him, you would have missed the frown, before he replaced it with a smile.
"Wow," he stated trying to get the focus back on the competition and not the foreplay that the pair on stage were partaking in.
The crowd hollered in agreement.
He smiled, "Are you ready to see how Takahashi is going to answer?"
As the crowds resounding noise reached his ears he shoved the microphone harder then he should have at the other man, before he left the stage.
Kagome lifted her eyebrow as she watched Bankotsu's deviant behavior, but she didn't have time to dwell on it, because at that moment a new melody came to her ears.
InuYasha lowered his head to the ground and as each phrase flowed from his mouth he lifted his head just a little higher, until he reached eye level to Kagome.
"The sun goes down
The stars come out
And all that counts
Is here and now
My universe will never be the same
I'm glad you came"
Kagome felt her cheeks blaze again. Knowing that the hope for it to cease was unobtainable, especially with the way he was walking towards her.
The lights started flashing on and off throughout the club. He grabbed her hand and turned her more fully towards him.
They started swaying back and forth. His eyes roomed freely over her, and she felt the blush come back full force, before he winked at her and walked away. The crowd screaming at the sexual tension on the stage that he was building.
As soon as the chorus was over he started his way towards her once more. She felt the blush rise more fully on her cheeks, but there was also this wanton desire that was growing in the pit of her stomach as she watched him stalk towards her, and she was loosing the battle to hinder it as he came closer to her.
He turned her around and made her body sway to his movements. Kagome didn't care. She was not about to hold back. This feeling that she had when she was around him. She didn't want it to go away.
They came to the front of the stage rocking and swaying their bodies to the beat. Their movement together was electric – unstoppable.
And Kagome would not try to stop it if she could.
“The sun goes down
The stars come out
And all that counts
Is here and now
My universe will never be the same
I'm glad you came
I'm glad you came"
His breath brushed against her – called her to uncharted territory, and before she realized what was happening, they leaned towards each other, and their bodies came together as their lips began their symphony.
His moan against her mouth eliciting a moan from her in return.
The audience the last thought from either of their minds as their brains transfixed on the kiss.
