Chapter 10 – Calling all the Monsters

As soon as InuYasha was announced the winner, Kagome made a swift exit from the stage.
Her cheeks were still burning with such a fervent heat that the idea of them ever having just a pale dust was out of the question.
Finally, she made it back to the room in the far end of the club. She was grateful that no one made it back there, 'which means that everyone saw what happened,' she grumbled to herself as she fell onto the couch and tried to cover her face.
'Get it together girl,' she tried to couch herself, which worked, but only slightly so.
The idea of Takahashi's lips on her own.
Her eyes widened as the blush came back with a vengeance, "kami."
The kiss wasn't horrible in any way. Far from horrible actually, but it was not the kiss that was giving her such trouble.
"That dumb smirk," she huffed to herself, her anger beginning to rise up.
"You ready?"
Kagome turned to face Miroku, and she couldn't help the blush that crossed her face.
"Yep," she replied quickly.
It was just her luck. The pervert would be the first to find her after that.
"So...?"
Kagome lowered her head. She already knew where the conversation was heading, and she really didn't want any part of it.
"Don't make me smack you, Sakamoto!"
Kagome felt a smile cross her face when she saw her friend.
Sango looked at her and gave her a wink.
"Kimura, dear, you can't tell me that you don't want to ask –"
"Hentai!" Sango replied fast as a resounding smack echoed off the walls.
Kagome tightly closed her eyes. Feeling slightly sorry for the prying man, 'he is only curious,' her mind chastised her which was true. He was curious, but he also had an uncanny ability to turn the most innocent acts into something vile and promiscuous.
"Ow, poor lecher," Ayame winced when she walked into the back room.
Rin let out a snort, "the day when Sakamoto does not deserve it is the day that I will gladly let him rub my rear."
Sango felt a blush stain her cheeks, "Rin!"
Rin waved her off, "oh come on, Sango! We both know that is never going to happen."
Rin turned serious and faced Kagome. She knew the other girl wouldn't ask her about what transpired on stage, but that look she shot her promised questions later. "You ready Kags?"
Kagome slightly nodded her head as she let out a breath, "as ready as I can be."
"We finalized on the set?" Ayame asked as she took out the piece of paper Kagome handout them earlier.
Sango smiled, "We definitely need to come on with a bang, if you girls know what I mean?" She sashayed in her purple angel outfit.
"Uh-oh Sango is letting her wild side out you guys,"Rin mumbled with a grin.
Sango rolled her eyes, "what? I just think we should do that song first considering our outfits and all. I think it will really put the audience in the mood, and then we can switch into doom and gruel mode."
Kagome slightly nodded her head, "actually, that's not a bad idea. Okay girls, angel with a shotgun is first and then calling all the monsters."
The three other women in the room nodded their heads as they made notes on the small piece of paper, before each put it in a place of safe keeping.

All the lights dimmed as Aishiteru made their way to the stage. Kagome made sure the microphone
stand was at the right height, since they didn't get a chance to go over their set they were risking quite a few mishaps, but she was confident that they would do great.
'Do something once, you've done it a thousand times,' she reminded herself of what her mother would always tell her when she started to get a little self-conscious.
She saw Ayame twirl the drum sticks, and she knew from the accompaniment of the vocals over the sound system that the song had started.
"(I'm an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun,
An angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun..)
Kagome looked out into the crowd as a grin made its way onto her face. She smacked her hands together as she made her way across the stage to stand by Rin and the electric piano they needed tonight.
She started swaying her hips back and forth as she let the beat take over. She saw Takahashi in the crowd. She could feel his stare on her, but she didn't care. He had his fun, but he was not going to win.
Kagome lifted her hands into the air and started banging her head to the beat and jumping up and down. She looked into the crowd and loved how nearly the entire audience was one with her movements.
Kagome flicked her eyes to where she knew Sakamoto and Takahashi would be standing. She looked straight at InuYasha.
"Did you see that look?"
InuYasha nodded his head to the other mans question, 'but what did it mean?' He couldn't help but wonder.
Kagome noticed Miroku and InuYasha staring at her as she glanced over the crowd and was not taken off guard with how the golden eyed man continued to stare at her.
Kagome stood next to Sango as her solo hit the air. The light hit each of the girls as the sound escalated in the club.
She moved over to the center of the stage as the song came to its climax. She glanced at Bankotsu and shot him a wink, before she raised her hand in the air and started jumping to the beat once more.
Rin joined her in the song as the background singer.
“I'm an angel with a shotgun,

I don't care if heaven won't take me back.

As the song came to a close, Kagome could not stop the goofy smile that started to make its way across her visage. She loved performing, and even though the little on-stage mishap occurred with Takahashi, she was glad that she could run away to this. The moments with her friends and the band.
She looked around to the other women on stage with her, noticing the feelings shining in their eyes. They loved it.
Rin pulled her microphone closer to her, "What did everyone think of our new cover?"
Eruptions of praise broke out over their senses. Rin smiled, "well, now its time to get the party started!"
The deafening sound from the people in front of them was overwhelming.
Rin nodded to Kagome who, in turn, nodded her head and snapped her fingers as the lights went black.
There was an electric suspense in the air as the audience waited for what the girls had planned, when immediately the lights flashed on as Kagome and Rin's voice boomed over the crowd.
"Calling all the monsters, calling all the monsters
Calling all the, calling all the, calling all the monsters
Aye yeah-eh oh!
Aye yeah-eh oh!

Kagome leaned down and moved her fingers as if she was casting a spell over the audience. Moving slowly across the stage before she lifted her arms over head and said a quiet 'boo!'
As Rins voice rang out over the crowd, Miroku, dressed like a zombie came out on the stage and made his way to Kagome.
Kagome's eyes widened, as this was not in the script for the performance, but thought she might as well make the most of it, and made it look like she was running away from him.
Kagome grabbed Miroku's hand and started swinging him around. Making it look like she was trying to get him to dance. S ran over to the side of the stage and was slightly taken off guard when Bankotsu came and started walking towards her.
She furrowed her brow as she was starting to get surrounded by the 'monsters', as she turned her head back and forth between the two men.
Rin's voice came in as she sang along with her.
As she did with Miroku, Bankotsu joined on her other side and she sashayed her hips as she danced with the two monsters on the stage.
Just as Kagome was starting the last verse InuYasha made his way onto the stage and the crowd erupted in screams.
Kagome looked back towards Bankotsu who was not too far from her, and then her eyes caught Sakamoto's mischievous grin.
'I am going to kill him when this song is over.'
Kagome turned her head just in time to see Takahashi closer to her then he needed to be, so she decided to grab his hand and spin him around like she did with Miroku.
"Gonna paint it red

As the song was coming to a close she was in the front of the stage with InuYasha and Bankotsu on either side of her with Miroku slightly behind.
She had to smile. Even though she hadn't expected to have extra 'monsters' on stage, actually dancing. She loved how the energy in the room felt.
She had to admit, this would be their best performance yet.
