Kagome groaned and rolled over on her futon. Damned villagers. The sun was just barely over the horizon and already they were screaming for help. Sapphire eyes shot open, all traces of sleep gone. “Shit!” She stumbled out of bed, wrapping her yukata tighter around herself and fumbling to tie the sash. Grabbing her bow and arrows, she ran out of the hut; skidding to a halt in front of a bloody man. Grabbing him by the shoulders to steady him, she looked him over. A few bloody gashes, but nothing critical.
“What happened?! Who did this?!” The man shuddered as he took a breath.
“I don’t know, strange men. Please! They’re attacking the village! Save them please!“ He pointed off into the distance, in the direction of the closest village. She nodded.
“Go into the village and look for a silver-haired Hanyou in red robes. His name is Inuyasha, he’ll help you. Go now.” She rose to her feet and took off for the man’s village.
She ran like she’d never run before, completely taken over by a need to protect. Her bare feet barely touched the ground as she sprinted, her lungs didn’t burn from lack of air, nor did her sides hurt from running at such a pace. She burst through a line of trees and immediately arrived at the outskirts of the village. She froze as a familiar, gigantic form came into view. ‘Kyokotsu of the Band of Seven! How can this be? He’s he’s supposed to be dead!’ Eyes widening as his hand came into view, she felt her anger rising as the woman in his hand kicked and screamed. Pulling an arrow out of her quiver, she aimed; pulling the string of her bow past her ear before letting it fly. He disappeared in a burst of white light. Kagome wasted no time in running into the village. She immediately spotted Ginkotsu and released a series of arrows at him, all glowing with her miko powers, white instead of pink like it used to be. The big hunk of metal let out a cry before disintegrating into air. Seeing clouds of poison at the center of the village, she took off; grinning as she thought of revenge against the poison master that had almost killed her. Hell, the damned thing had tried to marry her!
Putting up a barrier around herself, she walked into the cloud of thick smoke in search of Mukotsu. She found him cackling like a madman, oblivious to her presence. She smirked.
“Mukotsu.” Her voice was low and full of contempt. The poison master opened his bulgy eyes and squinted at her.
“You!!” Kagome chuckled.
“Yes, me. Sesshoumaru had the pleasure of causing your second death. I’ll be the one to bring about your third!” She aimed an arrow at the quivering, wretched creature. He screamed pitifully as he disappeared in a surge of white light. Calming down considerably, she looked around the village. No one had survived. Not even the woman that had been about to be Kyokotsu’s meal. Kagome had found her later, her upper torso crushed. Her heart clenched. The man that had woken her this morning was the only survivor. Rising from the mangled body of the woman, she cursed the Band of Seven.
Her breath caught as she came to a realization. She’d only killed three of them. Where were the other four?
She closed her eyes and allowed her senses to spread. There. She felt three strong auras to the north. They weren’t too far; she could probably reach them in an hour. She briefly wondered why she only felt three auras instead of four, but chose to let that slide until she actually met up with the other three. She took off and leapt into the branches of the trees as she reached the forest. Okay, so maybe spending three years with Inuyasha had caused her to take on some of his habits. She couldn’t blame him though; traveling by tree was much faster than traveling by ground.

“They’re approaching pretty fast for a human.” Three men were at the edge of a cliff overlooking the eastern forest, two sitting on a big, smooth boulder. One sat cross-legged while the other had one leg crossed and the other hanging from the rock. The third lay in the grass, his hands behind his head and one knee raised, chewing on a leaf of mint.
“Who is it, Renkotsu? Their aura feels familiar.”
“I’m not too sure, Jakotsu. Who do you think it is, big brother?” The man in the grass snorted.
“Who cares? It’s just one human, right? We can take him on.” The other two remained silent. Not a minute later, a black-haired figure clad in a white yukata dropped from the trees. Three heads raised to look at the newcomer. Renkotsu blinked in recognition while Bankotsu frowned. Jakotsu began to wave.
“Kagome! Kagome, it’s you! Where’s Inuyasha?!” Kagome faltered as Jakotsu’s shouts reached her ears. She groaned internally. ‘Don’t tell me Jakotsu still has a thing for Inuyasha.’
“Ka Go Me?” Bankotsu stumbled over the name quietly to himself. He couldn’t remember why, but he knew he’d harbored negative feelings for this raven-haired woman. Renkotsu stood as Kagome steadily approached them.
“Inuyasha’s not with me,” she said to Jakotsu, looking at the other two apprehensively.
“Oh, he’s not?” He pouted.
“No.” She looked over the three of them. “No offense, but shouldn’t you guys be dead?” Jakotsu clapped a fist into his other hand.
“You know, we were wondering that too!”
“You’re the smart one, Renkotsu. Do we kill her?” Bankotsu had risen from the ground and was now inspecting Banryuu.
“I think we should wait, big brother. She may know information.” Kagome felt her anger rising. She decided they didn’t deserve her patience.
“I would appreciate it if you would quit talking about me while I’m in your presence. Now tell me! Why are you alive?!” Renkotsu sighed.
“We would like to know the same thing. We awoke a week ago, in a field not too far from here.” Kagome blanched. ‘A week?’ “We are seeking Naraku. Do you know where he is?”
“He’s. . Naraku’s dead.”
“Dead?” Bankotsu spoke to her for the first time. She nodded. “Who killed him?” She looked away, taking her time before she responded.
“I did.” Her reply was soft, the three mercenaries barely heard her. They blinked. She turned back to face them. “I’m not too sure, but I think I’m the reason the band of Seven was revived again. I’ve already killed Kyokotsu, Ginkotsu, and Mukotsu. If you three choose to follow your past and kill again, know that I will not hesitate to kill you.” Her aura flared, becoming visible. The three men stared, eyes wide as the Miko’s aura twisted angrily about her frame, resembling a giant white flame. “But I don’t want to kill needlessly. This is another chance at life. Please, give up your killing sprees.” Her head dropped, her bangs shielding her eyes. “I know that you three have not killed since you were revived. Restrain from spilling innocent blood and I in turn will care for you. I’ll shelter you, feed you, care for you. Let your past remain your past and start a new life. It was I that brought you back. It will be me who will send you back to hell should you choose to ignore my pleas.” Her head rose as she looked all three of them in the eye, her own sapphire orbs flashing with determination. The men remained silent as she waited for their response.
“I, for one, desire to make the most of this chance.” Renkotsu said quietly.
“So do I.” Jakotsu nodded. The two men looked to Bankotsu.
“What do you say big brother?” Renkotsu questioned, “If you choose to take on the miko, Jakotsu and I are behind you one hundred percent.” Bankotsu cast an eye on Kagome.
“I prefer this world to the underworld.” Kagome sighed and allowed her aura to recede.
“If I may ask, where is Suikotsu?”
“When he was revived, he only had the doctor’s soul within him. We let him go. He’s probably off playing doctor in some village.” Kagome nodded silently.
“So will you three be accompanying me? I meant what I said when I said I’d take you guys in. I’d prefer for us to be friends rather than enemies.” She received two pairs of wide eye and a set of narrowed ones.
“Whatever,” Bankotsu shrugged nonchalantly. Kagome nodded.
“Well, let’s hit the road then.” Jakotsu hurried over to her.
“So Kagome, why isn’t Inuyasha with you?”
“He’s with his mate.”
“Oh, he took a mate? How horrible! Inuyasha, how can you betray me so?!” Jakotsu wailed. Kagome giggled, glancing over her shoulder at Bankotsu and Renkotsu. “You know, your new attire is somewhat similar to mine! Admit it! You love Jakotsu’s sense of style! I think it suits you better than that strange green and white kimono you had.” Jakotsu nodded at her white yukata that had become mussed in her traveling. It was now a bit loose at the collar and it was slightly open below the sash, revealing one leg totally from thigh to foot.
“Eep!” She fixed her robe. “I’m only dressed like this because I didn’t have a chance to change.” Jakotsu laughed and smiled smugly.
“I don’t think those two mind,” he said, gesturing to the two behind them. Kagome huffed and pulled her yukata tighter around herself.

“Fuck!”
“Inuyasha, calm down!” The silver-haired Hanyou stopped and pacing.
“Calm down? Kikyo, how can I calm down?! Kagome’s gone! What if she’s being stupid and went off to go play hero?” The once undead miko drew back a little.
“She can take care of herself.” Her voice was quiet. “Besides, this man came into the village specifically looking for you. You will remain here until he awakens.” Kikyo’s thoughts drifted to the events that had happened earlier that morning. A bleeding man had stumbled into the village from the direction of Kagome’s hut, calling for Inuyasha. His eyes had brightened when the red fire-rat robed Hanyou had appeared. All the man had said was, “She said you’d help me, Inuyasha” before losing consciousness. That had been three or so hours ago, and Kagome had yet to return.
Checking the man’s bandages, Kikyo jumped a little when Shippo flew into the hut. “Inuyasha! Kagome’s almost to her hut! I can smell her! And she’s not alone!!” The kit had bounced right back out and a flash of red and silver let her know that Inuyasha had followed. She rose silently and made her way to the outskirts of the village, where Kagome’s hut resided. When she got there, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Inuyasha were waiting. Inuyasha sniffed and began to growl. Not a moment afterward; four figures broke through the tree line and came into view. Kagome, clothed in nothing but a white yukata, was talking and laughing with. . Jakotsu? A quiet Renkotsu and bored-looking Bankotsu were right on their heels.

“WHAT THE FUCK?!!!”

Kagome’s head snapped up when she hear the familiar curse. There, waiting for her at her hut, was everyone, including an angry Inuyasha with Tetsuaiga already drawn. A quick glance told her Jakotsu’s eyes were dreamy where Bankotsu’s held a mischievous glint. ‘Shit.’

A/N: Man, I am such a drama queen. I just wanna see all the sexy guys get naked and fight. Anyway, I just wanted to share a little sumthin’ sumthin’ with you all. I was totally excited about the idea for this fic. I even had dreams about it. But I’m not a talented writer, so it won’t come out as good as I hoped it would. So please don’t hate me if it totally sucks. It seems I’m only good at writing one-shot lemons. Well, I can go beyond sex you know. It’s just easier for me to write shorter fics. Cuz I mean, with longer fics; I have the plot and events all planned out. .. But filling in between those scenes and such can be too much of a hassle with me. And since I work on several different fics at the same time, I sometimes mix them up. But fear not! I’ll try to be a better writer!
