Chapter 12: Rage and Blood

Disclaimer: I do not own none of Inuyasha's rights, nor any of Rumiko's works.

The soft smell of lemon enveloped her all around, silky trends of pink flew at Inuko's sides, falling on her face. Retreating her hand, she fell backwards, crouching on the floor.

Ira stood there, her chest blown apart blood dripping on her clothes creating a pool on the ground. Her eyelashes moisten with tears as some went down the curve of her delicately colored cheeks. Inuko gasped, her rage left her scared, the fear pouring through her in waves replacing the warm feeling with coldness.

Koharu caught her under the arms, placing her close his chest didn't letting her fall on the earth and supporting her back on his knees.

“Ira, Ira…don't! Ira” His yell penetrated Inuko's heart. She started crying, her sobs a silent echo of his scream.

“I'm sorry, to have disobeyed you… I… love you, still”

Her whole body trembled; she was pushing herself too far to tell him this. Her wound stopped her from speaking and she choked on her blood that started dripping form the corner of her mouth.

“Don't talk! Don't push yourself!” He tucked her hair t the side to see her eyes better. Caressing her cheek, he pressed his lips to her forehead.

“I love… y-o-u… I'm sorry”. The whisper died in her lips so low that he almost didn't hear it.

“Don't, Ira!” Koharu's yell made the trees shook. Her head fell backwards, Ira was dead.

He sobbed on her chest, pressing against his head to her, the blood passing on to him, coloring his skin and clothes. Inuko was shocked beyond herself. She stared at his hand not focusing on anything, the blood on her stinking and covering all other smell.

“You did this… You- killed… her” Koharu's strangled cry left him through clasped teeth.

“I-I-I'm so-orry… I di-idn't mean to..” She backed away, still on the floor, unable to stand on her feet, her knees refusing to hold her weight.

He hissed and clasped her by the shoulders, pressing hard, looking deep into her eyes and pushing her into the floor again. She landed hard, not even trying to counter back the force of the blow, her ass clashing hard and taking the air out of her lungs.

“You…” He stepped closer and kicked her on the side and on the back, she curled into a ball on the ground trying to make herself smaller but the blows kept coming. She couldn't believe he who had being so nice to her was the one creating bruises in her body in such an out-of-control way. Kidnapping her had being bad, she shouldn't trust people with the hurt to kidnap another one and much less someone who could kip imprisoned a little kid for days. The pain spread like hot water over her skin and went deeper into her organs but somehow it felt like it wasn't critical, she could resist for hours like this which would be a torture beyond death, for sure.

She caught the foot in an embrace and pushed him to her making him trip and jump over her to avoid falling over. Raising herself, she stretched into a standing position, at first her knees weak, then more sure on her footing. Betrayal, pain and sacrifice. All for some stupid idea of breeding she couldn't care for less. Poor Ira, her body laid there, the proof of unshared and disgraced love.

She felt no desire to fight, none at all. Koharu's hurt was apparent in his moves, and even in this movement when his eyes showed rage focused on her, he cried in silence for the lost of his sister. Inuko felt empty and lost, she had never killed before, and she hadn't want to kill at that moment either. She knew not what her intentions had being but she knew Ira's interposing had not being in the plan her instincts had designed when they pulled her towards him.

“I'm sorry, Koharu” she managed to whisper between her own sobs. “I didn't want to.. I had never…”

“You were aiming at me to kill because of the rage I pulled to your surface. Your instincts took control and you lost your mind for a split second. I can't forgive you for what you did… but I can't hate you either”

She gulped. She didn't know what to do. She felt pity for him, for Ira's death and at the same time didn't forget his actions regarding her and her friends. Several minutes passed, turning into an hour, he was restraining himself. He couldn't talk unless he got his instincts in line. She saw how his knuckles turned white from the pressure in his grasp.

“Leave, before I regret my actions.” The soft, controlled command send chills down her spine. He was deadly in such a state, not like before when he didn't want to kill her. Now if she did something wrong he would slash her in half.

She started walking away without giving him her back. Her steps were unsure, she had a deep wound on her thigh she hadn't noticed until the moment. Her instincts wanted to preserve her from his rage and so, she tried not to make the slightest sound.

“I'm still after you and I will win you as my mate. After this, it is the least I can do for my father, to assure the blood of the clan for further glory. After we mourn for her properly I will go after you. Were ever you are I will get my hands on you”

“I will still fight you.” She couldn't help saying that, she was not going to surrender to a man like him. Someone who had no moral values to stop him form kidnapping people, imprisoning them and lying. And even more someone who hadn't being able to protect one of his own family. If he weren't weak, Ira wouldn't be dead.

“Then it's fate for us to fight. The loser will surrender to the winner”

“So be it, Koharu.” But further more, if she weren't strong and uncontrolled, Ira wouldn't be dead. Koharu was not to be blamed, she was.

“So be it, Inuko-chan.”

She turned and started to get away. She couldn't erase the sight of Koharu soaked in Ira's blood standing in the center of the cleansed yard with crumpled ground at his feet, the dust covering his outfit. His violet eyes focused on emptiness, his voice colder and more restrained than she had ever heard it. The smell of torn flesh came from her hand still red and soaked.

She started crying more openly, her sobs became erratic and louder. Knowing not where she was going, the trees seaming all the same, no clue to find her beloved ones. Having never being so alone, she felt utterly lost. She didn't have Kuro, nor Namida. Not even her brother or his mate or his pack.

Rain started to pour on her. The soft whisper of the wind brought pledges to her, the soft drops of water crashing into the earth, echoes of thousands of crashes creating little meteor crates on the dusty floor coming into her fuzzy ears. It was no use trying to shut them pressing them against her calve, the sound kept coming more and more aggressively surrounding it all.

She run forward, into a craze, following no paths and tripping with rocks and stones until she found herself in a clearing were pine trees didn't grow. Looking around, the circle they made was perfect, she felt utterly alone. Suddenly the rain stopped cold in mid air, and she screamed at the top of her lungs, a wave of energy erupting around and sweeping the forest in an expanding wave.

Unconscious, she lay on the floor, the air that had fallen before transformed now in snow flakes that made no sound and rested upon her softly. Soon, she was all covered in that soft environment that only fell on the pine's clearing. It seemed a white untouched, sacred tomb erected to honor some dead hero, but Inuko couldn't register none of it, having locked her mind deep down in a vane effort to forget her kill.

Inuyasha was going through seven hells trying to figure out were his cousin could be. Four days had passed and he and his friends had combed the entire forest up and down but they seemed to be unable to find her or Shippo, or her mononoke. Kagome was starting to get really scared for her baby and he was nonetheless reassuring her even when his nerves were in a peak trying to get the slightest sniff of any of their scents.

When Shippo's shriek came cursing to hi ears he leaped forward carrying Kagome on his back without uttering one word. She must have understood because she only held closer to him, her body molding to his own' moves.

“Shippo!”

“Shippo-chan! Kuro!”

“Inuko-chan! Shippo-chan!” Kagome's voice united to his call.

When the furry ball crashed him down and leaped onto his face burrowing into Kgome's embrace, Inuyasha scolded. `Damn, brat' But when he turned and saw no one but Kuro, his heart sank, where was Inuko?

“Shippo! Shippo, where is Inuko?”

“She's fighting the at! He had us imprisoned and she rescued us, but he caught her! They are fighting!”

“Where?!” When the little finger pointed to the forest Inuyasha went running towards that direction. There were no sounds of fighting when he came into the village. It stank of cats. There was a crowd in a clearing, leaping into the trees he came closer until he had a clear view of the main people in the center of the many youkai's.

What looked like a daiyoukai was on his knees on the side of a dead neko female youkai. It was a nasty wound the one she had on her upper belly, and the old man was trying to clean the blood from her clothes in an irrational reaction to her death. A younger powerful youkai stood to the side, his own clothes soaked in blood, her blood, he concluded when e sniffed the smell of it.

The youkai raised his eyes to him. Dammit, he had being discovered, but to his consternation he signaled for Inuyasha to leap down towards them. The people opened a path for him to come to his lord.

“You must be her brother”

“Her cousin, and guardian” He knew they were talking about Inuko.

“¡I will kill you!” the old man leaped at him but Inuyasha handled him with one hand throwing his body deep into the forest.

“I see… You are indeed a powerful family.” Koharu's voice held pain and hurt but he admired their blood deeply.

“Where is Inuko?”

“She run away after this” He pointed the dead girl. “It was her first kill, a pity it happened like this, but who could have prevented was it already past? Take care of her, because I have intention of claiming her for myself”

“Not on your fucking life span, cat.”

“I'll fight her, and you, and anyone who comes in my way. I owe it to this girl who died to protect me.”

“You have no chances of winning, if you couldn't even handle Inuko, you wouldn't last a minute towards me.” He smiled, this cat was a wimp, if were not he could have saved this girl that had lost her life to his beware.

“I will get myself stronger. And I will find you wherever you are.”

“Then I'll kill you right now to avoid further problems!” He roared and come forward grabbing him by the neck with his left hand. His force allowed him to strangle the man in seconds but he wanted to make it last more, he had to suffer for what he had done.

“You... should find her…She was in sorrow because.. of having killed.” When the truth behind his words filtered to Inuyasha's brain he let go instantly. Inuko could do something foolish if her were not there to help her. The first kill was always a shock to mature youkai when they hadn't killed before.

For the time when Kohaku looked, Inuyasha was gone, his speed at it's maximum towards were her smell came.

On his way, Kirara, with Sango and Miroku onto her back came into view on the air. Kagome was riding Kuro with Shippo at their side. He used Tetsaiga to do a sign calling for their attention and continued onto what looked like a white field.

Their at the center there was a mound of snow. But how could snow fall in the middle of summer? Inuko's scent came from there, could she be under that?

“Hurry, help me unbury her!” he yelled to the other when they touched ground. Five pairs of hands removed the great quantity of snow on top of her. She looked pale, and dead.

Inuyasha screamed in a primal feral way and came on top of her, covering her body with his own, trying to convey some of his hit to her cold limbs. Her face on his hands was the color of the white snow surrounding it, her cheeks were no longer rosy and her eyelashes were frozen by the frost. Tears had being crystallized going down her cheeks and neck. Her hair was tangled and formed a fan around them both, the cloth of her obi spilling under her in a disarranged cascade.

“Please, Inuko, I promise this time I'll take good care of you! Please don't die!” His voice came out strangled through tight lips.

“Inuyasha…” Kagome's whisper didn't reach him. Nothing could, there was no pain compared to losing someone you loved, someone so treasured to him like his little cousin. He didn't understand her dead, she wasn't injured, she seemed okay. But she didn't breath, her chest didn't move at all. She only lay there, her eyes closed forever to the world.

Anger arouse in him and he started hitting her chest with all of his strength, bruising her while cursing the world in all of it's extension.

“Stop! Inuyasha, please stop!” Miroku, Kagome and Sango held him by the arms.

“Let her rest in peace” Miroku started praying while a crying Sango held Shippo to her chest. Kagome cleaned her eyes with the sleeve of her uniform and embraced Inuyasha form behind. He held her hand to his mouth without saying a word. The snow started falling again and Kuro's roar elevated to the air. Her cry shook the wind that formed a nest under Inuko, the snow rested on her cheeks started to dissolve and her tears ended their travel.

“Inuko!” Inuyasha embraced her in the second she opened her eyes. She hid her face in his neck and started crying, her tears soaking his haori.

“I'm so-o… sorry-y!”

“It's okay, pup, don't worry… It'll all be okay” He clasped his hand under her knees and arouse with her deeply cuddled into his arms.

He knew not how she had come back to life but he would be grateful for that for the rest of his life. His chest erupted in warmness and he kissed Kagome after Inuko fell asleep over his shoulder. Kuro was at his side, refusing to go any further than a feet from him.

They didn't have where to go, but they all needed some rest. After all, they had spend little time resting while they were looking for her and Shippo in the forest and now she needed quietness. The only place he knew that was nearby was an old castle. And even that was a few miles away but thanks to Kirara and Kuro, they would be there by sunset. The place had being deserted after the owner's death. It was safe, because no youkai dared to go near that tomb, that sacred it was.

He hadn't go there in years, and he wouldn't go now if he had others options. The place held several charms over him still, the only place he had considered home until he found Kagome. The tomb of his beloved father and mother, the place Seshoumaru held as his own and the house were they had all died.

A/N. Don't you think this is maybe going too fast? I had no plans after Inuko got held prisoner by Koharu but now I've got an idea of what I want to happen to her and to the others. For those Sango and Miroku couple lovers, this will be the right time and probably there will be some lemon about Kagome and Inuyasha. Coming soon, hell strikes open when ghost erupt form the earth!
