~Meanwhile~

inuyasha sat up in a tree, away from the others. He had almost drifted to sleep, when he heard a familiar voice. "inuyasha." he jumped and almost fell off the branch. Turning, he saw kikyo, as beautiful as ever, standing by the tree, and looking up. "you have had enough time. Have you not found the remaining shards of the shikon jewel?" she said, impatience clearly mixed into her words. Inuyasha shook his head. "we've looked everywhere, but it seems we are still a shard short." His answer was full of frustration. His flexed his fingers, claws extended. Kikyo sighed. (ooo looks like you've got more competition kagome! Haha) Inu jumped down from the tree, landing with ease on his feet. Kikyo put her arms around him, embracing him in a hug. "I must go. But I will return soon. Find that shard inuyasha. We need it!" she pulled away, and disappeared into the shadows beyond the trees. {dammit! How am I supposed to find that shard?? I've been all over the place looking…} he climbed back to his perch on the tree branch, and went to sleep, his mind full of worry.

~Inu's Dream~

something glinted in the distance. Inu ran towards it, but couldn't seem to get much closer. "it's the shard, I know it!" He breathed. Soon he wore tired, and stumbled over a roc to the cool grass. Lying there, he gasped for breath. He heard laughter, and jumped up. "Who's there?!" the laughter continued, but no words came. But then he recognised it. It was sesshy…and kagome. What was so funny? Did they see the jewel to? More importantly,did they have the jewel? Were they keeping it from him? He turned all around, the laughter had subsided, and the shine of the shard had vanished. Kikyo emerged, and stood before inu. He put a hand to her cheek. "If you cannot find it, we shall not be together inuyasha!" she yelled. He flinched. "I will find it…I will" laughter began to rise again. " I know where the shard is." Kikyo said suddenly. "it's - "

~ Dream ends ~

inuyasha awoke. He was mumbling "where? Where is it?!" sango and miroku stood below him. Sango raised an eyebrow. "talking to yourself?" miroku laughed. Inu scowled. "You woke me up for that stupid comment?!"

"yes." Sango replied simply. Inu threw something at her. "go away!" sango rolled her eyes. She tugged at mirokus sleeve and they began to walk away. "WAIT!" inu yelled. "I'm sorry, ok? now lets find that other shard!" miroku gave him a look. Inu? Sorry? Those words just didn't mix. "if we must." He said, breathing deeply. Inu lingered behind a little. That dream had greatly disturbed him.

A/N: ok that one was really short, but I'm just being evil and not letting you know what happens to kagome and sesshy. Mwahaha (insert devil smiley here) lol. Next chapter will be much more interesting, I promise. In return I ask a favor of you. I want to know what you think of my writing. So plzzzz review! Ok?
