people may have noticed that ch2 is missing. i don't know what happened to it, but i'll put it back up again!

 

CHAPTER EIGHT

ONE SIDE OF THE STORY

 

~THIS CHAPTER IS DEDICATED TO THE RETURN OF MY BESTEST BUDDY BOB~

 

"I'm sorry, Daisuke!" Kagome squeaked. She had accidently ran into him again. She couldn't really help it. After twelve hours of cleaning Emiko's garage and then being drugged and dragged back to her aunt's, Kagome was exhausted.

 

He blushed crimson and nodded. "It's okay, Kagome-chan!" He said before dashing off.

 

"Chan?" Kagome said, confuddled. Since when was she and Daisuke that close? Kagome frowned. She'd been ridden on guilt all morning. She was missing her friends that she hadn't bothered to say goodbye to.

 

Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo.

God how she missed them.

She wouldn't let herself think about Inuyasha.

 

Instead her mind was wandering, elsewhere. Dark was far more intriguing than she originally thought. He was....something. That night that she had spent cleaning out Emiko whatsit's basement, he had come to help her even though he didn't have to. He had laughed and joked about little things here and there, and overall he was nice.

 

A little stuck on himself, kind of a player, but really nice. She hadn't got to ask him about him being a demon, but she suspected that he knew she'd wanted to. Maybe she could....

 

No. She wouldn't get the chance to talk to him again. Probably. Kagome frowned. The beads were back around her neck again. She couldn't bring herself to get rid of them.

 

Daisuke was acting stranger than usual. Kagome had her suspiscions as to why. First off, Riku seemed to be ticked at him. Second, was that she suspected him.

 

No one knew who Dark was. But Kagome could sense a demonic aura faster than she could smell. And that small one that Daisuke let seep through everytime he got around Riku was identical to Dark's.

 

So she had figured that part out. No problem. Daisuke was somehow Dark. She'd seen weirder things. But what had her stumped was the appearance of the Shikon no Tama and the other demonic aura. She would have to figure out exactly what was going on.

 

That day at lunch, she cornered Daisuke. "I want an explanation, Dai-chan." She gave him a glare and started to walk away. "I'll come to your house."

"Daisuke, we're so dead. She knows." Dark told him.

 

"Yeah so what can we do? I don't think she'll tell on us."

 

"I don't know. We can't really trust her yet." Dark sighed. "I think we should give her the jewel."

 

"Why?" Daisuke protested. "We worked hard for that.!" Dark chuckled. "I've never heard you like this. Daisuke has a dark side...it's great!"

 

"Oh, bite me."

 

"Carefull, I just might." Dark threatened. Daisuke silenced himself. He knew that Dark's threats could be quite real.

 

"Riku's mad at me." He sighed. "I don't know why."

 

Dark lauged. "Isn't it obvious, Daisuke. She's jealous of Kagome."

 

"Oh. Is that all?" He said frowning. "Oblivious to everything. That's you." Dark pointed out.

 

"Nn." Daisuke replied. "We'll have to tell her. She'll ask."

 

Dark sighed. "And so we will."

"Hi, Miss Niwa." Kagome said cheerfully. Emiko shrugged. "You're fairly intelligent, Kagome. I'm surprised you guessed it so easily. I think Daisuke needs more training."

 

"So, I need all of the details." Kagome said, feeling slightly sorry for Daisuke.

 

"Okay, I'll let Dark tell you." Emiko gazed at her son. "Go ahead, Dai."

 

He pull a picture out of his pocket and stared at it for a moment. Then Kagome gasped. His eyes changed first. They shifted in shape and color. Then his hair lengthened. It changed to match his eyes. He seemed to grow a little taller, but she couldn't really be sure.

 

"Hello, Kagome." Dark said grinning. "It's time you knew my story."

 

Kagome listened intently as he explained.

~Important~I'm not in a fit for explaining all the stuff with Dark's side of the story, so at this point I'm hoping that my readers will have enough background information to know.

 

If not, here's a brief.

 

Dark and his counterpart Krad are two halves of a whole. Dark takes over the males in the Niwa family when they are 14 and when they start to fall in love. He remains inside of the male until the Niwa wins his true love and then he waits for the next time around. With Krad(aka Satoshi) it works pretty much the same(lacking many details...I'm manga learned up to vol. 11 so I'm not sure at this point) That's pretty much what you need to know if you didn't already. *and don't worry, Satoshi's coming*
