CHAPTER FOUR
TOO BAD FOR DARK

Daisuke yawned. It was the weekend at last and Dark had given him a hard week to cope with. Ever since Thursday, when Kagome had stormed out of their house and back to her own, Dark had been positively insane with annoyance.

Sometimes Dai couldn't get him to shut up. "Why did she call me Inuyasha. Ohhh, he better not be the one who she thought was prettier than me. Cuz he is sooo not. I can't believe she just yelled at me and walked out! She won't even talk to us now! I don't know what her probelm is..." And he just kept going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Eventually, Daisuke just gave up and toned him out of his mind. It was still rather hard for him to do, because then Dark would notice and rant on for hours about how unloved he was. "I mean your birthday is tomorrow and I bet no one got me anything! I never get anything!"

Daisuke rolled his eyes. Dark got plenty. He got the glory, the girls, the credit, the looks, the fame, the well...everything. And yet now he was complaining that no one would give him anything. "Why don't we just go apologize?" Daisuke asked.

"I HAVE NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR!" The thief protested. "Arg!" Daisuke hissed at Dark rather violently. "Because Kagome won't talk to you, Riku won't talk to me. This is all your fault, Dark!"

"This is her fault, not mine!" He whined, impatiently. "I didn't mean to make her mad."

"But you did make her mad and now we're both suffering for it!"

"Fine." Daisuke had an idea. "Then let's give her that shard of the shikon jewel. I'll bet that'll make her feel better."

"OH!" Dark exclaimed. "I hadn't thought of that!"

Then together the two boys conducted a plan.

Kagome was pissed. Of course, it was partially her fault. She had completely forgotten herself when she was with him, but he had sounded just like Inuyasha. She then wished that she had stuck the beads of enchantment around his neck instead.

Dark could be so hard headed sometimes.

Kagome was relaying her worries to her two new friends. She didn't really mention any names, as Risa seemed worried enough that Dark had defended Kagome before. (Who hadn't been in the courtyard that day?) And she was also punishing Dai along with Dark by keeping Riku occupied with herself. But besides her own worries, Risa was becoming seriously annoying.

"How do you know him, Kagome-chan?" She asked for the kazilionth time. "And why was he defending you?!"

Kagome sighed and came up with the best excuse that she could. "I met Dark the first time I came here. I helped him out and he defended me when my stupid ex came looking for me. That was all. It was just a friendly encounter."

"Seems a little too friendly to me. You were practically hanging all over him!" Risa was getting angry. "I told you that he was mine! I am the only one allowed to have Dark! I've worked too hard to lose to another girl!"

Kagome was offended. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT HE LIKES ME! I DON'T EVEN LIKE HIM!" They were outside eating their lunch, thankfully, where no one else could hear them arguing.

"Girls!" Riku tried to break up the fight.

"WELL, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HIM!" Risa ordered.

"I'LL STAY NEAR WHO EVER THE HELL I WANT! YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!" Kagome roared. "I DON'T LOVE THAT GOOD-FOR-NOTHING TWIT ANYWAY! I'M IN LOVE WITH INUYASHA, BUT HE KEPT CHEATING ON ME SO I HAD TO LEAVE HIM!"

"DON'T YOU SAY THAT YOU'VE GOT IT BAD!" The bossy twin, exclaimed. "I'VE BEEN WORKING AT THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE!"

Kagome's control was starting to slip. She'd delt with too much of this lately. "YOU'RE NOT THE FRIGGEN REINCARNATION OF A BITCHY PRIESTESS WHO YOUR FRIGGEN BOY FRIEND IS IN LOVE WITH, SO HE WON'T EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT LEAVING YOU, SO BACK OFF!"

"What are you even-"

"I HAD TO DEAL WITH INUYASHA'S FRIGGEN BETRAYAL, NARAKU'S FRIGGEN CRAP, AND YOUR WHINING NOW! I'VE HAD IT HARD ENOUGH! I'M OUTTA HERE!" Kagome whirled around and stomped off.

"What was she talking about?" Risa said, anger subsiding. "I think she's had more problems than you, Risa." Riku huffed. "I talk to her a lot and from what I know, she moved here because of all the things that she was dealing with in Tokyo."

"Oh no." Risa said. "I feel bad now." Her shoulders slumped in defeat. "But I really love Dark." She sighed. "Why should she get a chance with him when I don't?"

"Risa, " Riku looked at her sister sympathetically. "Have you ever even tried to get to know someone first? You practically jumped all over Dark and he....well he doesn't seem to respond well to that. I think..." She gulped at admitting this. "...I think that he just sees you like he sees everyone else."

"What do you mean, Riku?"

"In Dark's eyes, you're probably just another fangirl." Riku averted her eyes when she saw the look that crossed her twin's face. Realization mixed with rejection had her looking like she would faint.

Riku walked away to find Daisuke.

But he was with Kagome.

"Go away, Dai!" Kagome hissed. "I don't think I can stand this anymore!

"Where are you going, Kagome?" He was desperate. "Please just listen! He's driving me insane!"

"So ignore him!" She snapped.

"That's not possible!" He said exasperated. "He's inside of me!(wow that sounded wrong)I hear his every thought and he hears mine! Every thing that he thinks gives me a headache! And Emiko wants us to work tonight. If you don't at least talk to him, then something very very bad could happen and you know it!"

Kagome paused. Dammit. Dai did have a point. What if Dark got caught? Because of her....She couldn't deal with that. She turned to face Daisuke and crossed her arms. "I'm listening."

He looked around cautiously, completing missing the girl who was ducked behind a bush and listening intently. He pulled a shiny jewel from his pocket and handed it over. "He said to make up for whatever it was he did, he'd give you- oh hell."

Kagome jumped at Daisuke's use of language. It was kind of surprising to hear him say even that word. He looked like he was in mild pain for a second, before his eyes shifted color and Dark's voice proceeded from Daisuke's mouth. Kagome stared into Dark's purple eyes on Daisuke's face and didn't know what to do. "I'm sorry, Kagome." He whispered and leaned forward. His arms were wrapped gently around her. "I don't know what you went through with him, but I guess what happened was my fault and I'm sorry for reminding you of that fucking hanyou."

He pulled away to look into her tear filled eyes. He frowned. "What?"

"I'll tell you everything." She whispered and leaned forward again. He hugged her tight and sighed. "I can't do this, you know." He pulled completely away. She stared at him in mild astonishment. "Everytime I get near you I transform. It's hard enough to just look at you."

Kagome frowned. He'd said before that.....oh no. It wasn't possible. Was it?

"Kagome...." Dark's-not Daisuke's-eyes stared straight into hers. He was going to tell the truth, whatever it was he wanted to say, it would be the truth. It was too bad that Inuyasha had only ever once looked her in the eyes to say anything. And that time had been a disaster. But she was focused on the present and what the Phantom Thief had to say, "I love you, Kagome." He smirked right before Daisuke took over again.

He jumped about a foot back. "Oh no!" He shook his head. "I'm sorry Kagome! He got out of hand! I couldn't stop him this time!"

Kagome couldn't speak. She was in a daze. She was still crying, but she wasn't sure why. She could never have Inuyasha, but Dark.....

"It's okay, Dai." She grinned slightly. "I think I need some time to think. Tell him thankyou."

Daisuke shrugged. He was blushing brightly. "Um...he can hear you too."

"Okay then." Kagome clenched the new shared and smiled. "Thankyou, Dark."

Riku's mouth hung agape as she watched Kagome walk away. She had seen everything. All in all, she had held her suspiscions about Daisuke and Dark before, but this was just so...wow. She quietly snuck away from them and leaned against the cool bricks of a school room. Daisuke was Dark. Daisuke was Dark. It just wouldn't sink in.

Riku was apalled. Dark loved Kagome. Risa wouldn't be happy about that. But Daisuke....she blushed. Did he really love her? Riku was head over heals for him, but she didn't know how he felt. And now the only guy she had ever taken an interest in had turned out to be the most famous thief in history.

She was hopeful that Daisuke would tell her in his own time, but until then....what was she going to do?

Krad looked through the eyes of his tamer and smiled. How convenient that a powerful miko was the light of Dark's attention. The miko was undoubtedly attracted to the holy power that reeked from Satoshi. He had done that on purpose. If she wanted him, then Dark would be brilliantly pissed off.

Krad smiled, wickedly. After hundreds of years, things were finally starting to go his way.

Too bad for Dark.

Inuyasha wielded tetsusaiga with great pride, but this time it wouldn't be needed. He left it in Kagome's old room and looked at it longingly. This time he wouldn't be using it. This time Dark would lose for good, because Inuyasha wasn't going to hold back anymore.

He was going to let loose the strength he had always witheld.

A demon's blood was no thing to provoke.

And yet it had been.

Too bad for Dark.

Yes, Yes, I know I need to make them longer, but I can't simply type all the time. People around me get all fussy when I ignore them. I'll post this now and perhaps another today. But it all depends on how my time goes.

I'm loving the reviews guys. Keep sending.
