Oh yes. I watched the anime, cursed the ending, and decided that my fic is going way outta the way to make things how i like em. So it's still manga/anime mix, but to my own design.

Chapter Eighteen

Petty Arguments

 

"SIT!" Kagome screamed at the top of her lungs. Inuyasha flung himself into the ground. Or at least it looked like he did.

 

Koga then prided himself into stomping lnuyasha's grounded ass even further into the ground. Dark took advantage of the situation and inched over to Kagome. "Kags, darling, won't you tell me what the hell is going on here?!"

 

She turned an innocent smile on the thief. Inwardly, she couldn't believe how happy his appearance had made her.

 

He didn't return her glee. "You sneak off with a hanyou behind my back and just expect to pass it off with a cute little grin?!"

 

Kagome seemed to think about this for a moment, before she gave a confident "Yes" in reply.

 

Dark made a noise miraculously like a snarl and was suddenly nocked off his feet by Koga with an angry pup on his tail. The three were threatening to throttle eachother again when Kagome gave an angry cry for silence. They stared at her as if waiting for permission for something.

 

The miko was feeling meek. She did, afterall, have three very good looking and very single men fighting over her. Well if I think about it, she thought sadly, there was that one girl that liked Koga awhile back, and Inuyasha might still dig Kikyo, and Dark...Dark. She scowled. He was a pervert beyond measure if she really put some thought into it.

 

Her feelings seemed to go up in flames then. Sango stood at Kagome's side looking rather bored with the whole ordeal. Kagome turned to her. "I can handle it, Sango. Why don't you and the others go to bed, okay?"

 

The taijiya didn't care to argue. Instead she pointed shippo and kirara to a hut nearbye and dragged a half dazed Miroku there by the hand, Kagome noted this warmly. Those two were so perfect for eachother.

 

"Okay!" She said turning back to her men. My men, she thought proudly. "Koga, I'll start with you." She glared at him while Dark and Inuyasha snickered. "You're an immature brat who doesn't know when to stop! You don't have to come running every three seconds to check up on me! What are you anyway? A house pet?!" He looked taken aback when she turned to a chuckling Inuyasha. "YOU!" He stopped laughing. "You're a good for nothing idiot who jumps into things without thinking! You don't have to kill every friggen guy that takes a peep at me! I resent being watched all the time! Don't you think you can control me you- you two-timer!!" He looked stunned. She turned lastly to Dark. "And you! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING FOLLOWING ME HERE! IF EMIKO FINDS OUT SHE'LL MURDER ME AND YOU KNOW THAT! WHAT ABOUT YOUR STEALING BUSINESS HMM? AND RISA'S GONNA KILL ME TOO IF SHE FINDS OUT THAT I TALKED TO YOU AGAIN! YOU PETTY THIEF!"

 

Dark was different from the other two as he didn't take more than a second to retort. "OH WELL I JUST THOUGHT THAT YOU MIGHT WANT THE SHIKON SHARD BACK THAT I TOOK FROM YOU AGAIN! YOU'RE SO UNGRATEFUL AND EMIKO WON'T KILL YOU! SHE'LL YELL AT ME AND DAI FOR RUNNING OFF LIKE THAT, BUT THAT'S ALL! WHAT ABOUT WHEN I FOUGHT FOR YOU BEFORE! YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT I~THE FAMOUS PHANTOM THIEF WHO ANY GIRL WOULD LIKE TO HAVE~IS FIGHTING FOR YOU-MY GIRLFRIEND!"

 

But despite all that Kagome only heard part of what he was saying. "YOU TOOK THAT SHARD AGAIN!" she was appalled. "WHY YOU LITTLE SNITCH! WHY'D YOU GO AND DO THAT?"

 

"WELL I WANTED TO FOLLOW YOU AND DAI'S GRANDFATHER AND YOUR MOTHER PRETTY MUCH HELPED WITH THE REST! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT YOU WOULD GO AND YELL AT ME AS SOON AS I GOT HERE! I WAS EXPECTING A HUG OR AT LEAST A FRIENDLY GREETING!"

 

Inuyasha and Koga exchanged worried glances as they listened to the odd pair argue. "Uh Inuyasha? You wouldn't happen to know this guy, would you? I mean he argues more with Kagome than you do."

 

Inuyasha snorted. "Yeah, I know him, but not precisely who or what he is. Wait whaddaya mean he-"

 

"He's a demon isn't he?" Koga said with a tilt of his head.

 

Inuyasha, cut off in mid sentence, forgot what he was saying and replied. "I'm sure that he's not human."

 

The arguing was becoming more heated now. "You think we should stop them?" Inuyasha shook his head. "Nah. Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll kill him." I can't believe she told me to "sit" though. Ungrateful twit. Inuyasha snorted at the thought. But then again, what the hell do I care. I only need her to get the jewel anyway.

 

Inuyasha caught his own name from the fight. Of course it had slipped off Kagome's tongue, not the thief's. Kagome was saying...".. AND HE'S A DAMN IDIOT, I KNOW! BUT INUYASHA'S NOT BAD! I CAN'T HELP THAT I LIKE HIM! I ONLY DIDN'T STAY WITH HIM BEFORE BECAUSE HE SAID THAT HE LOVED KIKYO, NOT ME!"

 

"OH AND NOW YOU THINK THAT'S CHANGED?! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. HE'S USING YOU!"

 

"IS NOT!" She sniffled. Kagome was crying now. "HE LOVES ME!"

 

"ARG! YOU'RE A BLIND FOOL KAGOME!"

 

"DON'T YOU GO CALLING ME STUPID, YOU OLD FRAUD!"

 

"FRAUD?!"

 

"DAI IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS YOU ALREADY! I DON'T THINK THAT YOU'VE BEEN AT THE STEALING BUSINESS FOR AS LONG AS YOU SAID!"

 

"DO I HAVE TO PROVE THAT TO YOU NOW!? AND LEAVE DAISUKE OUT OF THIS!"

 

"HE'S AS MUCH A PART OF IT AS YOU!"

 

"NO HE'S NOT!"

 

"IS!"

 

"NOT!"

 

"IS!"

 

"FINE THEN ASK HIM YOURSELF!"

 

"WHAT?!" That snapped Kagome back to reality. Dark's form shifted into Daisuke's in a flash. He moaned. "Please stop! All of this folly is wearing me out!" Dai whined.

 

Inuyasha and Koga stood behing Kagome, mouths agape. "Did he just-"

 

"I think he did!" Koga exclaimed in mid answer to Inuyasha's question.

 

Kagome hissed a fowl remark and grabbed Dai by the sleeve. "What? Where are we going Kagome?" He asked, actually taking in his surroundings. "We're going to talk to Kaede. And you-"

 

She whirled around. "Don't follow us!"

 

Inuyasha and Koga flinched, but did as she told.
