New Chapter ---Yay!
demonfromhell, first of all, love the name, secondly this chapter goes out to you and lvsweets!
Thanks for the encouragement!
There will be a sequel, possibly, that is already half planned, and I'm not sure it will be as long. But I need some opinions on a sequel if ya don't mind. It will involve a certain couple's daughter(from this story) and some characters from Full Metal Alchemist.
There will be no lemons, well maybe there won't. ^.^ Can never be sure with me. (HentaiVixen)

Chapter Twenty
Love and Hate
Kagome was at the river washing her face. The old woman was beside her, grinning like old ladies often do. Dark watched them a little longer than was necessary. Dark, Dai said to him alone, You're completely obsessed with her aren't you?
So? What of it?
Dai hesistated and made Dark curious. I'm proud of you for once.
Well, Dark thought, I didn't expect that. He told Dai, Thanks and then bounded off to scare Kagome. She shrieked when he pushed her in the river. She surfaced and gasped for air. "You are such an asshole!" She exclaimed.
Dark chuckled. "Why thankyou!" He replied, all too happily. "I try."
"Arrrg! You- YOU-!"
"-Are so smexy! Right? Did I get it right?" He said gleefully. Kaede interrupted them with a snort. Dark grinned at her too, but said respectfully. "It's nice to meet you, ma'am."
"And ye as well Dark. I'm Kaede, village priestess." She smiled. Her expression was full of affection. "I must thankyou for...for helping Kagome."
Kagome blushed as she pulled herself on the shore. She was sure that Dark wouldn't have a clue what the old bat was talking about. But, suprisingly, he seemed to know a lot more than she thought.
"You're quite welcome." He said with confidence. "I'll be sure to keep that wretched hanyou away from her."
Kagome was so tempted to ask him how he knew what she was talking about, but she then concluded that Dark was just being Dark. He thought that everybody loved him. I do. She thought and grinned rather widely. "What?" Dark asked suspciously, and then, to his utter amazement, she dashed over and hugged him. Hard. Her wet clothes soaked his and he shivered, but didn't let go.
Kaede somehow managed to disappear. They stood alone in eachother's arms at the river. Dark finally, gently nudged her away. "What was that for?"
"Oh you'll find out eventually." She exclaimed before practically hopping away.
And the phantom thief was left speechless to watch.
***(fluff*oh joy!) One Day Later, still in the Fuedal Era....
Inuyasha was lying with Kikyo in a cave they had found to escape the weather the night before. A horrible storm had rolled in, unexpectedly, to ruin the day. But Inuyasha didn't think it had been ruined. He pulled Kikyo closer to him. Of course, he was happy to be with her, but he had finally been with her in a way he had only dreamed of. Kikyo, a walking clay figure, still had something in her. Inuyasha grinned. Last night had been wonderful.
He put his arm over her as he watched her sleep, and slipped into an abyss of his own.

Kagome was frantic. Where did Inuyasha go? Her mind was reeling. Dark was tagging along on the search for the wicked pup who had jumped the fence, so to speak. Dark scowled. He had learned of Kikyo and her relation with Inuyasha. He knew that Kagome had her heart set on the hanyou, a thought that still made him want to hurl. He also knew-just knew-that Inuyasha had done something that was probably going to hurt Kagome terribly. He was no fool. He knew how things worked. And this wasn't the first time that Inuyasha had snuck off to be with that bitch of a woman.
Who would want a rotting corpse anyway?
He frowned as he saw the demon huntress, monk, kitsune, and fire cat suiting up to go hunt Inuyasha down. Kagome was equipped with a bow, a quiver full of arrows, and a look of sad determination. Dark felt uneasy. He would have to tell her now or at least try.
"Kagome?" He patted her shoulder gently.
She turned to him with a look in her eyes that said she already knew the truth. He tried anyway. "You know what he's done..." he said softly.
She grinned. It scared him enough to flinch away. "Oh, I know. But I've always hated her, Dark. She ruined a rather large portion of my life. Now I'm going to ruin hers."
"That scares me more than you could guess."
"Good."
***(longish)
They found the cave as the sun was rising. Inuyasha and Kikyo were asleep, wrapped in eachother's naked arms and both grinning softly. Had the situation been different, Kagome would have found it rather touching. But it was the same.
She walked forward and kicked Inuyasha in the back of the head. He woke with a start and Kikyo with him. They both(yes, even Kikyo) looked so embarrassed that Kagome was vaguely satisfied by their finding them. Inuyasha managed to cover himself while trying to defend himself. Kagome wasn't saying a word.
"I can't help it! I love Kikyo! I had no other choice! I'd never find the shards without you, and I had to do the only thing I could! I was trying as hard as I could to be nice to you! I couldn't help-"
"STOP." Kagome said blankly. He did. She glared at him and said his demise. "In this whole mess, I would have forgiven you, if you'd only said the right thing. Now I can't even like you Inuyasha. It's a good thing that I'm not still in love with you or I might have killed you both right now. Do you know what you could have said to me?"
He looked lost. Kikyo was beginning to look angry.
"You should have told me that you were sorry. That you liked me a little at least. That you cared. But it's obvious." Kagome shrugged. "You care only for her. You have that-" she pointed, "BITCH to help you find the shards."
Inuyasha looked to Miroku and Sango for help. They were, however, glaring at him too. He would find no help from them.
Kagome turned to leave, but Dark's arm shot out to stop her. She looked into his eyes; they were shining with anger. "Inuyasha you will apologize to Kagome." He hissed.
Kikyo's eyes widened as she recognized Dark's aura. "Kokuyoku..." she whispered. Kagome glared at Kikyo. She stood protectively in front of Dark, but her attention came to the hanyou on the floor. Inuyasha glared defiantly. "No."
Kagome stepped forward and slid the beads off his neck. "Then you-" she hissed. "Are no longer my problem." And just like that they left the cave. Not even Shippo turned to wish Inuyasha a solemn "goodbye".

And that is the end of this chapter.
Oookay whutcha think? I'm getting much closer to a finale than I thought I ever would.
