InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ She Walks In Beauty ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Hello everyone!
This is going to be my first attempt at a Fan Fiction and I hope that you all enjoy it!This is basically just an introduction/prologue...there really is no plot as of yet, but I've already halfway done with the first chapter and I hint at the plot and well it picks up a lot. So in order for me to be encouraged to continue this story since this is my first time after all I'm hoping that some people will be kind enough to take 2 minutes out of their time to review and let me know that there are actually people out there reading my story!Another thing, if you would like to e-mail me instead of reviewing that's okay too! Check my author's page and it should be posted and if not my e-mail address is . Your comments/flames/assistance will be highly appreciated! It also lets me know if I need to fix anything or add something in to make the story more pleasing to you all!Now I'm going to shut up and let you read the introduction/prologue I put up! Hope you enjoy it and aren't afraid to leave your mark!
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha and even if I did it would be unlikely that I would be sitting here in front of my computer at 12:02 at night, on a school night no less, typing up a story on !

Introduction/Prologue
"Kagome, I'm sorry," he said as we sat around the fire eating ramen for the last time in our favorite spot beneath the God Tree while tiny flakes of snow spiraled down from gray skies. "You know I love you, Kagome."
"But not the same way I love you," I said, my heart gripped by the worst pain I ever remember feeling.
He looked down at his now empty cup. "I never intended to hurt you."
"Of coarse you didn't."
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
I knew he was. He really and truly was. And it didn't change a goddamn thing.
Present
One year ago, I sat across from him bundled in my winter coat and brightly knitted sweater staring at him through the dying fire. Who would have thought that the life I had become accustom to would end suddenly and painfully after our victory over Naraku. But alas, that is just what happened.
For 3 years we were traveling companions, assemble by chance and with a common denominator. Along the way we met others that helped form the team known to many as powerful and undefeatable; a group of unlikely travelers banning together to bring down the demon known as Naraku; as well as to once again restore the Shikon Jewel. But all of that had ended unmercifully and without warning.
After the battle with Naraku, Sango and Miroku had finally gotten married and set out on a search to rebuild and repopulate the Demon Hunter Village. I had asked Sango and Miroku to take care of Shippo because I was unsure of my future in the Feudal Era and would like to know that if anything happened he was well taken care of.
I had remained in the Feudal Era for less than a week after that. The unfinished business I had had been taken care of as soon as possible. Keade, the kind old woman who I looked at as the grandmother I never knew, had died a month before our final battle with Naraku and I had taken it upon myself to find her replacement and teach her some of the methods of my time for healing sickness; well as much as I was able to with the time I remained.
Kikyo; the woman who cause me so much pain and heartbreak was finally put to rest by none other than Sesshoumaru. She had been playing with fire when she teamed up with Naraku. Believing that Inuyasha would never harm her during the battle and go to hell with her at the end she had made the unfortunate mistake of attacking Rin. It had been the biggest mistake of her life and had led to her second death.
Sesshoumaru; he has always been a mystery to me and to this day my view still remains the same. He had appeared unannounced during our final battle with Naraku and fought side by side with Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku. He was also the one that had distracted Naraku long enough for Inuyasha to send his strongest attack at him with my arrow enhancing the force, completely destroying him. Sesshoumaru had disappeared swiftly after the battle, without a word to any of us.
As for Inuyasha and me, well an understanding had formed between us a year ago. He treated me as an older brother would a younger sister. It was hard for me to accept, but things came out for the better when I finally did. Nothing blossomed between us other than a siblings love. That didn't mean I never thought about him that way during the end of our travels, but I never worked to push it forward and make something of it.
So, after my final day in the Feudal Era he told me that he had been invited by his brother to the Western Lands a day after the battle and that was where he was heading to. So with a few tears form me and a sad watery smile from him we had hugged one last time and I jumped into the well never to return.
I had taken the Shikon Jewel with me for protective reasons, but something I didn't know and wouldn't know until I returned 5 years later was that even though he had said he felt nothing for me other that sisterly love, was that I had also left with his heart.
So, how was that? Anyone like it? Anyone want me to continue it? Please drop me a line with comments or just for the fun of it a review or anything! It will be highly appreciated!
'Till next time!
