Sessh glanced at the clock. He hoped that Deidre wouldn't get mad about the lunch date. She did technically agree to a dinner date, so what was the difference between lunch and dinner? The time, that was all.
“Will you be alright in the store by yourself?” Sessh asked his help, Angela.
“Of course. Will you be okay?” Angie cast a smart-ass glance at her boss. “You seem a little nervous.”
“I'm going to be completely honest. I'm scared shitless. I've never met anyone who can make me feel the way she does. I barely know her, but Angie, for Christ's sake, she's got me thinking about settling down with her! I'm just, oh.” Sessh groaned, shaking his head.
“That's a good thing. Everybody needs that in his or her life. Whether you believe it or not.”
Sessh didn't say anything to that. He threw the shop keys at Angie. “I leave my humble little shop in your hands. I have some things to take care of.”
Angie smiled and watched as Sessh grabbed his coat and walked out of the store. “Good luck!”
Sessh walked out to his car and slid in. He had to get down to the flower shop, get the flowers, leave them at Kyoko's and not be seen by Deidre. He had no clue what type of flowers to get her. “Shit!”
He grabbed his cell phone and dialed the number to the salon, praying that Deidre wouldn't answer.
“Thank you for calling Luna Salon and Day Spa. This is Cathy, how may I assist you?”
“Excellent! Just the person I wanted to talk to. This is Sessh. I have a question for you.”
Cathy raised her eyebrows. “And what can I do for you, sir?”
“Deidre's around, isn't she? Can you go somewhere where she can't hear you?”
“Yes, sir. Hold please.”
Sessh waited until Cathy picked the phone back up. “It's you, isn't it?” Cathy asked.
“Whatever do you mean?” Sessh smirked.
“You're taking her to lunch? Awww, how cute! Now, what did you want to know, hon?”
“What is Deidre's favorite flower? I need to know.”
“Oh, it's lilies. She loves lilies. She says they remind her of her grandmother.”
“Lilies, excellent. Expensive, but excellent.”
“She's worth it. Make sure you remember that.” Cathy warned.
“I'm pretty sure I'll never forget that.” Sessh stated.
“Good. Have a great time. Bye.”
“Bye.” Sessh hung up the phone and started the car. He headed to the flower shop to pick up the most exquisite lilies he could find.

“Ok, I'm leaving now, guys. I should be back in an hour, if not sooner.” Deidre snatched her jacket. “I'm out guys.”
She walked out into the parking lot and got into her car. She pulled out of the lot and headed downtown. She turned into the parking garage and parked as close to the front as she could. She locked the car and walked the half a block to Kyoko's.
She headed up the stairs to the entrance of Kyoko's. She walked in the door and was greeted by an attractive older Japanese lady.
“Ms. Schroyer? I will take your jacket for you.” The woman left and returned quickly. “Please follow me.”
Deidre was led back towards the rear of the restaurant. She glanced around her hostess and saw a table, nearly covered with lilies.
“Oh, my.” Deidre's hand flew up over her mouth. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
“Your companion will be arriving shortly. May I get you anything to drink?”
“A Coke would be excellent, thank you.” Deidre settled into her seat.
A Coke was brought to her and Deidre sat quietly, wondering who went through all the trouble of doing this.
“Hello, there.” Deidre glanced up into smoldering golden eyes and nearly fell out of her seat.
