Chapter 35


Sunday morning: Shopping and a ring.


I woke up, showered, dressed in hip hugging faded blue jeans and a v neck t shirt, and pulled on my socks and shoes.

I kissed Bankotsu on his lips and said "Morning love."

He smiled and pulled me ontop of him and kissed my nose and said "Morning wife to be!"

I smiled and said "I sure like the sounds of that!"

He smirked and said "So do I!"

He rolled off the bed and got up and showered, he came out and dressed in black jeans and a dark blue t shirt.

We brushed and pulled back each others hair and clipped our cell phones onto our hips, then we went out to the car and he drove us to the jewelry store.

We arrived, parked, locked the car and walked into the store holding hands and smiling.

The person behind the counter said "May I help you?"

Bankotsu smiled and said "Indeed you may, we wish to look at your finest engagement rings!"

The person behind the counter noded and pulled out a tray with huge stones on the rings.

I said "Ban, I don't mean to sound naggy and all but I really don't need a huge stone! I'd just like something elegant."

Bankotsu noded and the cashier sighed and put the tray away and pulled out a second tray will smaller stones.

We looked them over and I saw one that had a gold band with a reasonably sized sapphire that reminded me of his deep blue eyes.

I gasped and picked it up and said "Ban, this one reminds me of your beautiful eyes! It's perfect!"

He looked it over and noded and said "We will take this one! Have it sized to her finger!"

The cashier noded and sized it to my finger and said "It will be ready in a week!"

Bankotsu said "Make that first thing tomorrow morning!" and pulled out his credit card.

The cashier noded and rang up the tab and handed Bankotsu back his credit card, and said "It will be ready by morning.

Bankotsu noded, took my hand and and pulled me over to the necklaces.

I said seriously "Enough Ban! That ring is enough I am not really a flashy/jewelry type of gal."

He sighed, noded and guided me out of the store.

He pulled me over to him and said "If you are worried about the money sweetheart don't be! I have pleanty of money!"

I said "Maybe so and as do I, but that doesn't mean we have to flaunt it." and I laughed.

I said "Honestly, we will have no money worries, but I try not to go spend crazy either."

Bankotsu noded and said "As long as you let me spoil you sometimes!"

I noded and we went to the mall next.

I asked "Okay why are we here now?"

Bankotsu said "To celebrate the good news with a bit of a shopping spree! You will need clothes to leave at my place and we will need stuff for our new house."

I said "Hold up, clothes at your place okay, but we haven't even discussed house hunting yet."

Bankotsu laughed and said "Okay, to the clothes and such then."

I laughed and teased "I never knew you would be such a shopping bug!"

He scowled and said with a grin at the last part "I am not, but I want to watch my bride to be try on all her new clothes!"

I laughed and said "Lead on oh husband to be!"

He laughed and we walked into a clothing store.

I picked up a few shirts, some blouses, some jeans, some slacks, a couple skirts, two summer dresses, a nite shirt, some underthings, and a pair of sneakers.

I tried on the clothes and spun around for Bankotsu whos eyes shinned with approval.

Then he collected the stuff and went to the register.

I pulled out my credit card and said "This time I pay."

He glared and said "Thats the only time you pay!"

I said sweetly "We will see love!"

He grabbed the bags and we went out to the car and put them in the trunk.

Then we walked back inside and he said "Now we eat."

I laughed and said "Yes oh hungry one!"

He smirked and pulled me into the line behind him.

We ordered two double cheese burgers for him and a bacon cheese burger for me both with fries and a tea.

We sat down at the table and discussed when to try going house hunting.

I said "Ban, I don't wan't to buy just any place, I want to find just the right place, untill then I am fine with staying with you at yours or with my cousins."

He noded and said "I just want you happy honey!"

I held his hand, smiled and said dead seriously "With you Ban, how can I not be? Besides I want you happy too!"

Bankotsu smiled at me and said dead seriously "Baby I AM happy! YOU make me happy and when you agreed to be my wife you made me the happiest man in the world!"

I blushed and said "And YOU make me the happiest woman in the world!"

Then he leaned over and we kissed.

I broke the kiss and said "Lets get out of here!"

He grinned, noded and drove us to his place.

He cleared out a draw for my underthings and shorts and I put my bikinis in it as well and he cleaned out part of his closet for my clothes, and I hung them up.

He pulled me to him, kissed me and said "Now you have clothes for when we sleep here and I will leave the clothes I already have there over at your place as well as a few more sets.

I smiled, noded and kissed him back.

He broke the kiss after a few minutes and pulled out a few more sets of clothes and put them in a bag and we walked out to the car and he put the bag in the trunk.

I said "Hey babe, why don't we stop at the store on the way over and get the fixings for meat loaf, and I will make that for dinner tonight."

His eyes lit up and he said "Hell ya baby!"

I laughed and he drove us to the store.

Sunday afternoon: At the store.

We went into the store and got 5lbs of hamburger meat, a dozen eggs, a bottle of bbq sauce, a loaf of bread, some potatoes, butter, and some corn on the cob.

We were standing at the checkout stand, waiting in line when Heiten spotted us and walked over.

Heiten said "Hey there baby!"

I rolled my eyes and said "Go away Heiten."

Heiten chuckled and said "Aw come on now, is that anyway to greet you soon to be mate?"

I said "Never gonna happen Heiten!"

Heiten chuckled and said "Yeah it is babe, who do you think had the deadline moved up?"

Bankotsu smirked and said "Then I guess I have you to thank!"

Heiten glowed and demanded "What the hell you talking about!?"

Bankotsu smirked and said "You will find out soon enough!"

Bankotsu paid for our stuff and said "Come on love, your cousins are waiting for us."

I smiled and noded.

Heiten sneered "Wait just a damn minute! I don't know what the hell you two are up to, but Cathy you better enjoy your lover here while you can because by the end of next month you will be MY mate and I won't EVER allow you near each other again!"

I smirked and said sweetly "You have one helluva wake up call coming real soon Heiten! You will find out soon enough!"

Bankotsu smirked and lead me out the door as Heiten stood there speachless.

We put the groceries in the trunk and Bankotsu drove us to my place.

We pulled out the bags and went inside.

I locked the door behind us and said "Ban, when are our brothers due back?"

Bankotsu said "Wensday morning why?"

I said "Since we are getting married and all don't you think they should meet my cousins?"

He noded.

I said "So how about wensday nite we all go out to dinner then? Or I could cook for us all. Either way I think it is time our families met, Don't you?"

He smiled and noded.

I lead the way to the kitchen and started dinner.

Kagome came into the kitchen and asked "Whatcha doing Cathy?"

I smiled and said "Shh! I am making dinner. Wanna learn how to make my recipe I gave ya?"

She said "The Me...?"

I covered her mouth and said "SHH! Yes that! Don't say nothing tho or they will hear and I will never get anything done on time."

She noded and said "I'd love to watch you make it!"

I noded and said "Okay, get me a big bowel out of the cabinent behind ya would ya?"

She noded and said "Okay." and pulled out a big bowel.

I said "Thanks, now how about peeling the potatoes for me?"

She smiled, said "Sure." and peeled the potatoes, cut them into cubes and added them to a pot of boiling water

I said "Okay first we open the hamburger meat and dump it into the bowel."

Next I cracked two eggs, add the eggs, and threw away the shells.

Then I rinsed my hands and said "Hand me the barbecue sauce will ya?"

Bankotsu set it on the counter by me, leaned back and watched me.

I opened the barbecue sauce and squeezed about half the bottle into the bowel.

Then I tore up the bread, and added it to the bowel.

Then I used my hands to squeeze and mix the mixture thoroughly together.

Then I used my hands to place it into the bread pans.

Then washed and dried my hands and stuck the bread pans in the oven.

Then I added the corn on the cob to another pan of boiling water.

I said "And now we bake it while the potatoes and corn boil."

Kagome said "Not hard, but sure is messy!"

I laughed and said "Yeah, but everyone sure eats it up!"

Kagome laughed and said "Yup, and thanks for showing me, I kinda burned it the other night."

I said "Bet he ate it anyways huh?"

She smiled, noded and said "He didn't want to hurt my feelings so he ate it anyways."

20 minutes later Inuyasha and Sesshomaru came running into the kitchen.

Inuyasha said excitedly "I would know that smell anywhere!"

I smiled. Sesshomaru said "Cathy is that..Meatloaf I smell?"

I laughed and noded.

Sesshomaru grinned.

Bankotsu said "Cathy, said if we bought the stuff she would make it for dinner tonight."

Sesshomaru said "Did she now?"

I noded.

Sesshomaru said "On a more serious note, I have spoken to the council and they are overall thrilled with your decision except for Heiten's father...He is pushing for Heiten's petition harder than ever now. I guess being forced to take father's seat on the council might just come in handy after all. They respect my opinions and have agreed to let you mate with your human, BUT Heiten's father is fighting it tooth and nail! So be prepared for all hell to break loose at school this week!"

I noded and said "Thanks! We ran into Heiten at the checkout and he was all smug about me gonna be his mate and how he was the one behind the deadline being pushed up."

Sesshomaru said "I figured as much! That baka never learns!"

Sesshomaru faced Bankotsu and said seriously "Watch you back! heiten can be vicious when pushed! I will do all I can of course but he is a sneaky bastard!"

Bankotsu said "Thanks! I can handle him! I may be a human but I am by no means a weakling!"

Inuyasha said "Won't be just Heiten! He will have Naraku as well! Naraku you can handle alone maybe, but Heiten is a full demon like my brother is, and will be hell bent on ruining everything between you two!"

I said "He may be a full demon but he still won't beat my Ban! There is far more to my love than meets the eye!"

Bankotsu smirked and said "Thanks for the vote of confindence babe!"

I smiled and noded.

Sesshomaru warned "Even so, I think we should ALL stick together as much as possible untill after the mating ceremony!"

We all noded and agreed.

I said "Fair warning Sesshu, Kagura is gonna freak when she realizes you and Rin have mated!"

Sesshomaru noded and said "I know this already, but thanks."

I noded.

Then I pulled the meat loaves out of the oven and set them on the table.

Kagome pulled the corn on the cob out.

Rin mashed the potatoes.

We all set down and ate together.

By the end of the meal every morsel had been devoured.

Rin and Kagome did the dishes and Ban and I went to my room and studied for our big history test tomorrow.

After the dishes were done, Rin and Sesshomaru also studied for the history test as did Kagome and Inuyasha.

After 3 hours of studying for our history test Bankotsu said "Ugh! Enough! If we go over this history anymore, I am gonna fall asleep!"

I laughed and said "Okay, okay, so now what?"

Bankotsu smiled and said "How about a movie or something where we can cuddle?"

I said "Okay, you choose a movie while I take a quick shower."

He grinned and said "I have a better idea! How about we shower together?"

I laughed and said "Sure hott stuff but only if you promise to give me a back rub later!"

He grinned and said "You git it sexy!"

He grabbed a condom out of the drawer and carried me into the bathroom.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck and began kissing his neck.

1 and 1/3 hours later we were laying in bed and he massaged my back and kissed my back.

I rolled over and kissed him, he layed me on my back with his head nestled against my heart, and his arms around my waist.

I ran my fingers thru his hair and we slept peacefully, in each others arms.

Sunday nite: At Heiten's house.

"WHAT!? What the hell do you mean then council has agreed to let her marry that..that...that human!?" exploded Heiten.

"Calm down son!" said his father.

"I will NOT allow my chosen mate to marry a worthless, human!" fumed Heiten.

"I am doing EVERYTHING I can Heiten! But Sesshomaru hisself has vouched for this human she has chosen! That alone was enough to sway the councils desicion!" said his father.

"I don't care what the council wants! I was to be Catherine's mate! Not some damn weak, worthless, human trash! Fix this father or so help me I will make your life a living hell!" threated Heiten.

Heiten's father sighed heavily and mumbled "What an ungrateful wretch of a child!"

Heiten stormed out of the office and into his room and picked up his phone, and dailed Naraku's number.

Heiten "Pick up the damn phone you baka!"

Kagura purred "Hello Heiten what a nice surprise!"

Heiten rubbed his temples.

Heiten "Kagura, get your asshole brother on the line NOW!"

Kagura "Ok..Okay, just a minute."

Banging on a door "Naraku, Heiten is demanding to speak with you NOW!"

Naraku grumbling.

Naraku "This had better be damned important baka!"

Heiten "Cathy has been cleared by the council to mate her damn human scum! The ceremony is schedueled to take place in 2 weeks!"

Naraku "WHAT!?! What the hell do you mean Cathy is mating her human!? How the hell did this happen!?!"

Heiten "Apperantly Sesshomaru has now been givin his father's seat on the council and personally vouched for him on her behalf. The council has agreed!"

Naraku "Fuck! What about your father!?! Why hasn't he forbidden it!?!"

Heiten "He has, but was out voted. I told him I don't care what it takes he damn well better change thier minds!"

Naraku "It was bad enough that bastard kept me from taking her years ago! Now he has the gall to foil my plans once again!?!"

Heiten angrily "I know about that! She told me! How could you try something so damn reckless!?!"

Naraku "I don't answer to you!"

Heiten "WRONG! When it comes to MY intended you sure as hell do!"

Naraku Icily "No I DON"T!"

Heiten "Shut up you baka! Help me figure out how to keep this ceremony from taking place! OR neither of us will have her!"

Kikyo purred "Naraku baby, how long are you gonna keep me waiting?"

Naraku "I gotta go blow off some steam for now, we will figure this out tomorrow!"

Heiten "WHATEVER! Send your sister over! I need to blow off some steam too!"

Naraku chuckled "Sure thing buddy!"

"Kagura!"

"What?" asked Kagura.

Naraku said "Heiten wants you to go to his place tonight."

Kagura said "Sure, tell him I will be there shortly!"

Naraku chuckled.

Naraku "She will be there shortly."

Heiten "Tell her to hurry her ass up!"

Heiten hung up his phone, sat on his bed waiting for Kagura.

10 minutes later Kagura showed up and said sexily "You called."

Heiten grabbed her and threw her on his bed, shredded both thier clothes and mounted her.

Kagura purred "OOH wonder what's gotten into you tonight! At least you have finally come to your senses!"

Heiten growled and said angrily "Shut up!" and smashed his mouth to hers in a dominating kiss pretending it was Cathy he was with instead of Kagura.

All the while Kagura pretended it was Sesshomaru who she was with.

Heiten took her roughly and multiple times thru out the night, and every time he imagined it was Cathy, and she imagined it was Sesshomaru.
