Chapter 3

After Inuyasha had walked off toward the village that the ship was docked at, Kagome had

followed him to see what ship he got on. Many a time she would step on a stick while following

him causeing him to turn towards her but she always managed to hide behind a tree or some

other object. Eventually they made it to the village, but there was no ship at the dock. ' Wait a

minute did we talk to long and they left with out him? oh no where will he stay now? If i take him

to the castle mother will surely get mad and throw him out. hey where is he going?' Kagome

thought to her self as she watched Inuyasha stare at the dock for a minute before heading

towards the other side of the village. Carefully noteing landmarks so that she could find her way

back, she continued to follow him. Eventually they got to the end of the village and were now

walking along the beach that leads to the bottom of a really high cliff. In the cliff there was a

cavern type thing in it that isn't visable from the village. As they got closer Kagome could see a

ship sitting in the cavern. The ship

was made out of a type of wood that looked black but the parts that had light shineing on them

shone red. The sails were a deep red color with a black cresent moon on them, the symbal of the

pirate Inutashio. Kagome watched as Inuyasha climbed up the ropes on the side of the ship and

disappear in the mess of people of its deck. Suddenly the ship started to move slowly pulling out of

the cavern once it was clear of the cavern they let down the rest of their sails and were off like

lighting. She would later learn that Inutashio's ship was the fastest ship to sail the seas. was.

Kagome had followed the landmarks and trail and made it home with the hope that she could

fullfill her newly aquired dream and maybe meet Inuyasha again. Once she got home her mother

immediatly looked her over to see if she was hurt apparently her escapeing had shaken some

sence into her but not much for after seeing that she was okay she punished her for going out

side by makeing her clean the floors for a month. As Kagome got older she devised a plan that

she would use almost everynight to sneak out of the castle and go sit down at the beach to

escape her sister. One such time she found an old man sitting where she normally sat.

Wondering if he was hurt because normally the villagers would be asleep by now, she went up

and asked him and he said. "No child i am fine but why are you out so late?" Deciding that she

could trust the old man she told him of her mother and sister and how they don't like her very

much. The old man, who said that his name was Enji, listened intently to her story and when

she was done he told her that she should not let them get to her and to ignore them for the most

part. After that it was time for her to go back to the castle so she bid her goodbyes. The next

night she went down to the beach and Enji was there again. So they talked and he told her

stories of when he was a young pirate. Obviously they got along well and he became her

mentor, they would meet everyother night so that she could learn from him. And eventually she

told him about her meeting with Inuyasha and Inutashio. She never got caught sneaking out

until her eighteenth birthday.
