Kagome hastily put the not in her pocket. He had just given her his phone number! That was insane. She was under the impression that he didn't really like her, but was just being coquette. But as they walked across the gym to the outside doors, where the busses were waiting, she could feel something with Inuyasha. Not quite sure what it was, she hoped she'd find out tomorrow. Then again, could she distinguish love from infatuation in a matter of days?
All she really knew was that she would be on the phone. Wait. Would it seem lame to have her call him first? She needed a plan to get her number to him. Oh well she could think of it later.
Kagome looked at all the buses, but she couldn't find the bus driver who had taken her to school in the morning. She double checked all the busses and must have looked like an idiot, but still couldn't find Diana.
Waving out the window Miroku shouted Kagome's name. “Kagome we ride this bus with Jan in the afternoon.”
Kagome was so relieved. She was getting rather embarrassed, walking around, staring into the buses like that. But she had found the right bus so everything was okay. “Hey, um, Jan?” she asked hesitantly, wanting to make sure she got the name right.
“Hey Kagome!” Jan said. She was maybe forty pounds overweight with long blond hair down to the middle of her back and an eyebrow ring.
Kagome went to sit where she had sat that morning. Miroku was once again right in front of her.
“So how was your first day? How'd you like it? Did Kouga freak you out? Come on I want to know!” Miroku bombarded her with questions.
“My first day was okay. I didn't do much… Kouga did freak me out a little; I'm not used to being around people like that. I did tell you I've been home schooled since seventh grade right?”
“Yeah you mentioned that,” Miroku nodded, “I couldn't stand being home schooled. Anyways, you never told me why you're here. I'm here for smoking dope and just being a disruption to the class. Oh and fighting. I get into a lot of fights. Plus I'm a bit of a philanderer.”
“Wow,” Kagome felt once again that she didn't belong at Vista, “I guess I'm here because the regular high school didn't want me. I just got out of a treatment center for suicidal stuff. My dad says that the regular school thinks I'll go all Columbine. You know those guys committed suicide after they did what they did.”
“That shit was fucked up. I mean I was like ten or something when it happened, but now that I'm old enough to know more about it, I can't believe it.”
They spent a good portion of the time talking about Columbine and how messed up it was. Kagome found pleasure in enlightening Miroku about the true story of that whole martyr thing. She had researched it on Wikapeda, and found out it was false.
Finally Miroku changed the subject. “So what all have you done?”
“What?” Kagome never thought she'd hear that question from anyone other than her girl buds in a truth or dare game.
“Come on, you can tell me.” Miroku had a tone that conveyed complete secrecy, yet Kagome was still apprehensive.
“Well, let me just say, not much. I've had my first kiss though, with both a guy and a girl. Not at the same time though. There was a year difference” Kagome blushed a little.
“That's it? Man with a rack like yours I'd have guessed way more. But if you ever want to do me the pleasure of bearing a son of mine…” Miroku trailed off.
“No thanks, I already have someone I'm focused on right now. And I got his phone number!” Kagome had been wanted to tell Miroku this all trip, but hadn't found the right moment.
“Wait you got Inuyasha's number?” Miroku rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
“Yeah he gave it to me in his hat, and now I'm going to figure out a way to get him mine. I wished he knew Japanese.” Kagome had taught herself a little Japanese, at least one of their alphabets and their number system.
“He loves that anime shit you know.”
“Really?” Kagome was surprised. “So you think he'd like my number in Japanese.
“I don't think he knows Japanese though.” Miroku looked out the window; they were almost at his house.
“Oh I have an idea.” Kagome said happily.
“Tell me tomorrow. We're here.”
“See ya!” Kagome help up her hand for a wave.
“Yeah, you too.”

Bunnie: Shorter chapter, but this was a good place to stop. I have to work on my other fic any ways. People are starting to get impatient. Then again I shouldn't just leave people hanging.
Inuyasha: `Coquette?'
Bunnie: Look it up!
Kagome: So is Miroku like my best friend now?
Bunnie: For now.
