Chapter 5: Mizu, Sesshomaru's mother

Kagome woke up in a foggy mist. Her blue gray eyes blinked several times before they closed and a moaned escaped her lips. `Where am I?' She thought as she sat up and looked around her surroundings. She stood up and dusted the dirt off of her kimono and looked around for someone. Kagome turned her head towards the sound of laughter.

 

“Okaasan! Come back here!” piped a small cute voice.

 

Kagome pushed her way through the trees and thorn bushes. The fog started to clear up as she drew closer and closer to the cute voice. When she got through the trees a small little inu youkai ran past her with sliver hair and tail flying behind him.

 

“Sesshomaru?” She whispered.

 

Sesshomaru stopped running and turned towards the person who whispered his name. “Okaasan?” He called.

 

Kagome hid back behind the trees and blinked twice. His face…it wasn't emotionless as it was since she knew him. It was in fact… cheery. She watched as he shrugged and went back to finding his mother.

 

“Okaasan!!” She heard him call which was her signal to follow him. She swore he sounded nearly like Shippo.

 

“Maru-chan” a melodic voice called.

 

Sesshomaru stopped walking making Kagome stop as well. He stared in the tree next to him. He giggled and climbed the one he was staring at. After a few moments he hopped back down and ran as a woman, who Kagome believed was Mizu, chased him. Kagome continued to follow them to the falls.

 

Sesshomaru giggled as he hid behind a large rock. Mizu knew where he was but pretended not to know. She placed a clawed finger on her lips.

 

“Now where could my cheery son be?” She asked as she crept towards the rock.

 

She pounced on him, making him squeal and they rolled into the water. Sesshomaru gave a playful snarl and crawled on her back.

 

“I win!” He cheered.

 

“Yes, you do my beloved little pup.” Mizu said as she grabbed her pup and falling on her back. She placed him on her stomach and watched as his tail twitched in the water.

 

Kagome smiled. `I never thought he was like this.' She thought.

 

“Sesshomaru, Mizu” a deep rich voice said. Mizu and Maru-chan turned their heads to the voice, their smile grew.

 

Kagome gasped. The youkai looked almost exactly like Sesshomaru.

 

“Otousan!” Sesshomaru cheered as Mizu sat up, her body completely wet.

 

“Inutaisho” Mizu whispered.

 

Inutaisho smiled as Sesshomaru ran to him. He picked up his pup and hugged him tight. This scene made Kagome smile. `He was so happy'. Mizu's head turned to Kagome's hiding spot. `Eek! She spotted me!'

 

The scene suddenly froze. Kagome watched as Mizu slowly rose from the water. She walked towards Kagome making her nervous. Mizu soon stood in front of Kagome and the surrounds changed. The blue sky, the clear falls, and the happy father and son disappeared. And everything soon turned black.

 

“You are Kagome, am I right?” Mizu whispered. Kagome stiffly nodded. “Rin has told me you will help my son, is it true?”

 

“Um…” Kagome didn't what to say. That Sesshomaru was using her as bait and she never wants to help a bastard like him? “I-I…I do not know. He is using me as bait for his younger brother.” Kagome said.

 

Mizu sighed. “I wish he wasn't using you like that.”

 

“Um, excuse me, Mizu, I was wondering, are you watching Sesshomaru now.” Kagome asked.

 

“No, I was banned to watch over him after I tried to tell him to accept ningens as equals” Mizu said. “I am not allowed to give guidance to my son anymore. After he changed…after I died…” Mizu's eyes closed and a single tear slid down her cheek. “I wished I could be there to help him. He has become so cold, not the cheery son I tried to raise.”

 

“What happened to you?” Kagome asked.

 

“I am not allowed to tell. You must find out on your own.” Mizu said.

 

“That's going to be difficult. He will never let me ask. Rin has told me that-“

 

“He steps on those who ask about me. But sometimes he does worse, Rin does not know.” Mizu said turning around. “Kagome, could you please do something for me?”

 

“Alright”

 

“Please help my son…” Mizu whispered before disappearing.

 

A flash of memories rushed through Kagome's eyes. One was when Sesshomaru was crying next to his dying mother. He cried okaasan before the memory changed. Sesshomaru was standing in a puddle of blood. Arrows were in his shoulders and a few in his stomach and legs. Another memory was when Sesshomaru was yelling at his father.

 

Before more of the memories could show more, Kagome saw a pair of red eyes. She gasped and sat up making Kera sigh in relief.

 

“Are you alright?” She asked. Kagome nodded before placing her face in her hands.

 

Kagome looked around the room and saw it was spotless and the futon was changed to a silky white on with white sakura blossoms embroidered on it.

 

“I am so sorry I couldn't help you!” Kagome gasped.

 

“It is aright, I have cleaned this room by myself since I was here.” Kera said.

 

“Oh”

 

“You should feel lucky he went out to patrol his lands. He would've beaten you awake.”

 

Kagome gave a nervous laugh and stood up.

 

“What did you see?” Kera asked.

 

Kagome opened her mouth slightly to answer but closed it after hearing Mizu's voice, `Please don't tell anyone.' “Nothing Important” Kagome answered.

 

Kera smiled and wiped her hands on the dirty kimono she wore. She told Kagome they had more to do. First was to prepare dinner for the lord and serve him. Then they were to stay in her room and meditate.

 

“Um…Kera?” Kagome started as she and Kera went to the kitchens and placing the fruits on the floor.

 

“Yes?” Kera answered while beheading a rabbit with her claws.

 

“What do the others do? I mean, do they do what you do?” Kagome asked.

 

“No, they clean the halls and springs. All that I do is what I promoted to. And Lord Sesshomaru rarely promotes anyone.” Kera said skinning then cutting the raw meat up.

 

“Then shouldn't I be with the others? Cleaning the halls?” Kagome asked and she placed the wet and clean fruits in a wooden bowl.

 

“Oh, no, didn't Sesshomaru tell you I need someone to help me with my chores? Another reason was because he knew if Rin had seen you cleaning the halls she would not stop whining till he gets you to help me.” Kera said.

 

“Oh, Rin sure does have an effect on Sesshomaru.” Kagome said drying her hands.

 

“Yes, she has an effect on many youkai.” Kera answered placing the raw meat on a golden plate. “Come,” She carried the plate as Kagome carried the bowl full of fruits out the kitchen and into his chamber. They placed the food next to his futon as he jumped on the balcony. He glared at Kagome who lowered her head.

 

“Kera” He said.

 

“Yes milord?” she asked rising.

 

“Leave.” He commanded.

 

Kera started to leave and Kagome made a move to follow.

 

“Stay miko” Sesshomaru barked. “I did not tell you to leave.”

 

Kagome jumped then sat back down. She watched as Kera closed the door behind her. She stared at the wooden floor and listened to Sesshomaru's footsteps. She looked at his black shoes which were near her side.

 

“Look up at me, miko” He said.

 

Kagome lifted her head up a little bit. She heard him growl then felt his foot connect to her side. She rolled on the floor and landed on her back. She propped herself up on her elbows went back down when Sesshomaru pressed his foot on her belly. She hissed when he pressed his foot harder on her belly.

 

“Did I say you could get up miko?” He asked. She whimpered when he pressed his foot down harder and shook her head. “Good, now get up and help me eat.” He said lifting his foot off of her.

 

Kagome crawled to Sesshomaru's futon and watched as he sat. “Why are you just sitting there miko feed me.” Kagome bit her lip to hold her frustrated growl. `Okay, think of Inuyasha, the day when he was really worried about me he cried.' She slowly lifted the chopsticks and picked up a small piece of meat. Her arm lifted to place the meat in his mouth.

 

He opened his mouth and closed it over the chopsticks. As he chewed the meat Kagome wondered `what he do if I shoved the chopsticks down his throat…'Kagome hissed when she felt him sink his claws in her wrist. She glanced at him and realized she tried to do what she thought. She slowly took the chopsticks out of his mouth.

 

“Do not try to choke me wench.” He growled.

 

Kagome glared at him before pulling at his wrist to let go of hers. She hissed and closed her eyes as he sank his claws deeper. “Do not defy me.” He whispered in her face then let go of her. `Inuyasha being my best friend.' She quickly thought

 

She picked up another piece of meat and fed him without choking him. After feeding him the meat and the few fruits, he let her have the rest of the fruits and commanded her to bring Rin into his chamber. Kagome slowly walked to Rin's chamber. Rin smiled and hugged Kagome's knees.

 

“Hey, Rin, Sesshomaru wants you in his chambers.” Kagome said patting the girls head.

 

Rin smiled and pulled Kagome with her to his chambers. She ran to him and slid in the futon with him. Kagome gulped when she saw Sesshomaru's firm built chest. She clenched her fist tight and tried to hide her arousal. But she could not hide it from Sesshomaru. He only smirked when he smelt it.

 

“Can Kagome sleep with us Lord Sesshomaru?” Rin asked out of the blue. Both of them were shocked when asked for something. Sesshomaru glared at Kagome before giving a frustrated sigh and waving his hand.

 

“If you wish Rin, sleep next to her miko,” Sesshomaru said turning his back to the two of them.

 

Kagome slid in the futon and pulled Rin closer to her. She didn't want Rin in the middle but she defiantly didn't want to sleep next to Sesshomaru. She sighed and buried her face in Rin's hair before blurting something out.

 

“Sesshomaru, what happened to your okaasan?” Kagome asked.

 

She saw Sesshomaru's back muscles tense up when he heard the word `Okaasan'. She bit her lip and hoped he wouldn't bitch slap her again.

 

“This Sesshomaru does not want to talk about it.” He growled before turning his head to Kagome and Rin. Rin could tell that in his eyes, he had plans for punishing Kagome.

 

“Please do not harm Kagome-oneechan” Rin whispered. Sesshomaru's eyes softened when then feel on Rin. He gave a frustrated sigh before turning his head back to the balcony and the three of them fell asleep.

 

Sesshomaru, every now and then, would wake and whimper like a pup for his mother…

Okay, not really fluffy but the part with Sesshomaru as a pup felt fluffy to me.
