Chapter 6: Pleasant or Unpleasant Dreams?

It has been several weeks since Kagome came to the Taiyoukai of the West's castle. And nearly every day of those weeks Rin would sleep with Sesshomaru and ask for Kagome to sleep with them. Also in those weeks had Mizu entered Kagome's dreams to reveal more happy memories of Sesshomaru and more angst ones. Sometimes Kagome would wake up from those dreams and stare at Sesshomaru's sleeping face.

 

More than ten times had Kagome received a painful punishment from him for disobeying his orders. And each wound would heal overnight as a youkai's wound probably would. Soon she realized what the beads around her neck did. They'd nearly choke her to death when she wouldn't follow orders with him not knowing.

 

Kera was ordered to deliver a something (no matter how curious or nosy Kagome was, she could not find out what it was.) to the other lords leaving Kagome with the prince, nay, king of ice, for a week tops. Twice since she had left, Kagome's anger towards Sesshomaru's torment he gave her, forced her to use her miko powers. The last time she used them, she noticed the colors were growing darker.

 

This evening, Kagome was busy bathing in Sesshomaru's private springs. She hoped to get out before he came back from patrolling his lands to avoid severe punishment. No one but Rin and himself were to bathe in the springs that she was currently in. Kagome knew she wasn't allowed in the lord's springs, but every time she would bathe in the servants' springs, the males would purposely enter and try to get her to bed with them.

 

Kagome sighed as she buried more of herself in the springs. The sigh turned into a sharp gasp. She heard the tall oak door being slammed, meaning the Ice King had returned. She made a move to get out, but saw his shadow through the shoji door grow larger and larger. He was in front of her only way out.

 

She ducked under the water and swam to a large rock she slowly swam up and breathed softly. She heard the shoji door being closed shut. Moments later, she heard his swords, his armor fall on the floor with a `thunk'. The rustle of his clothes hitting the floor came second later. She peeked from the side of the rock and watched him walk towards a rock before resting his back on it.

 

“I can hear you miko.” He said.

 

Kagome mentally kicked herself for forgetting that inu youkai had much better hearing than a human with excellent hearing.

 

“Come here” He ordered.

 

She sighed and slowly swam towards him. She held her breath when she was close to him. His hair, face and chest had drops of water on them. She had seen his bare chest many times, but the water made him look more erotic. He opened his eyes half way and turned his head towards her. Kagome quickly swam to his side hiding the light blush and waiting for his next order. Sesshomaru closed his eyes.

 

“Why are you here miko?” He asked.

 

“The males have trying to get me to bed with them when ever I bathed in the other springs milord.” She whispered feeling her cheeks heat up more.

 

“That is understandable.” He grunted.

 

Kagome stared at his silky silver tresses and resisted the urge to run her fingers through his hair. He fingers were itching to test the difference between his and Inuyasha's untidy hair. Though it was untidy, it still felt silky. She gave a small sniffle. Why must everything about Sesshomaru remind her of Inuyasha?

 

`Duh, they're brothers…' she thought.

 

`Half-brothers!' Inuyasha's rough voice corrected.

 

Kagome could no longer control her fingers as they slowly ran through his hair. A small smile crept onto her lips when she heard a faint purr. She slowly crawled onto the rock that he rested on and continued running her fingers though the silk like hair. Inuyasha's was nothing compared to it. His purring grew louder and Kagome's smile stared to disappear. Inuyasha would purr like that when she would pet his hair or scratch him behind his adorable furry ears to make him feel better.

 

“Are you not getting cold miko?” He asked, with his eyes closed, bringing her back to the moment.

 

“Hai, but I think it is best if I stay out of the springs, for I went somewhere I wasn't supposed to.” Kagome hated punishing herself but Kera recommended her to punish herself while the lord was still in a good mood, after she did something wrong, before he would do it himself.

 

Kagome blinked when she heard him chuckle. She heard it was rare for Sesshomaru to laugh, extremely rare. Rarer than a quarter youkai still having demon blood in him (his human side would overpower the demon blood, erasing it all of it.).

 

“Let me guess, Kera told you to punish yourself while this Sesshomaru is feeling good?” He questioned looking up at her with his tired molten gold eyes. Kagome stiffly nodded feeling the blush come back, she hated males seeing her naked. She wished she could hit him like she did with a certain hanyou (A/N: I'm mentioning Inuyasha too much aren't I?). She then squealed when he grabbed her arm and pulled her into the hot springs. He head slowly popped out of the water. Sesshomaru was glaring at her for practically screaming in his ear.

 

“Gomen-nasi Sesshomaru-sama” She had no idea why she just said that.

 

She heard him sigh. She watched as he turned his head and a small gasp escaped her lips. She stared at the scratch above his ear and trailing above his eyebrow. The blood still looked fresh and it slowly stained a few strand of his hair pink.

 

“Um…Sesshomaru-sama, you're bleeding…” she whispered raising a hand to touch it.

 

“I know, I had ran into the half-breed and the Kaze witch.” He said.

 

Kagome quickly grabbed a cloth in a bucket near the two of them and gently wiped the blood out of his hair and cleaned the cut. She glanced at the stub remembering when Inuyasha had cut off his arm. She also saw burn marks that indicated something else had happened to it. She left the cloth on the rock behind them, leaned across him and ran her fingers against the stub and watched the muscles ripple from her gentle touch. She looked at his face, it was emotionless as ever, she had expected him to ask what she was doing, truth was she had no idea what or why she was touching the stub. But her miko powers were tingling inside her and telling her to place her hand on it. She stared at her hand and watched it glow light pink and the glow that covered his arm too.

 

She felt as if her powers were being drained as she saw his transparent arm slowly become solid. When it was completely solid Sesshomaru's eyes held amazement for the young miko, no miko her age or with her low experience could do that, so why could she? He then smelt the same scent he smelled when he saw her and the neko youkai weeks ago. He caught her when she started slipping into the water. He turned her face towards his and saw her eyes closed. She fainted. He rolled his eyes and swung his arm under her legs and carried her out of the springs.

“Kagome, dear, wake up” A melodic voice whispered to her.

 

Kagome's eyes fluttered open before the blue haze turned into the beautiful eyes of Mizu. Kagome moaned before rubbing her temples.

 

“Daijoubou desu ka?”

 

“Hai, I think…”She sat up and stared at the chibi Sesshomaru. “Hello little one…” She whispered smiling at the adorable creature.

 

The chibi Sesshomaru smiled then hopped onto her stomach. He wrapped his small arms around her waist and buried his face in her bosoms. She petted his head and giggled when she heard him purr, which tickled her breasts.

 

“Do you know what this Sesshomaru is?” Mizu asked bending down to pet her son with Kagome.

 

“Um…a memory?” Kagome guessed.

 

“Hai, he is the memory form of my son's child self. He is all I have in this lonely world.” Mizu whispered.

 

“Kagome-chan?” Kagome heard him murmur in her chest. He looked up, his face and eyes bright with life. “Will you play with this Sesshomaru??”

 

Now how could Kagome resist? That cute chibi face, the cute voice, and the beautiful gold eyes…Oh what the heck, why not??

 

“Sure Maru-chan.”

Sesshomaru placed Kagome on his futon and pulled the covers to her chin. He slipped black hakamas and stretched out his tired limbs. He closed then windows and examined his new arm. He smirked before glancing over his shoulder to stare at his new miko. Yes his. She was his servant, his slave, his miko, just as Kera once was. Kera had abandoned most of her powers, only kept those that would help her master when he came back with an injury. He grabbed a purple ribbon the Rin left on the table near the balcony and tied his hair in a low ponytail.

 

He turned and stared at Kagome's peaceful face then raised an eyebrow when he heard her giggle. He knelt down and brushed the soggy bangs out of her smiling face.

 

`Why is she smiling?' He wondered. His eyes widened a bit when he heard her murmur, “you're so kawaii Maru-chan.” He stared blankly at her. Maru-chan, now that brought back memories. He made a move to stand but stopped when he saw her hand clasped tightly on a lock of his hair.

 

He growled lowly and grabbed her hand to yank it off of his hair. He stopped when he felt the same tingling feeling he felt in his arm when she made it reappear. His eyes felt heavy. He gave a yawn before his head gently fell on her abdomen and he fell asleep.

Sesshomaru walked through the forest hearing the laughter of Kagome and someone else. He jumped in a tree and hid there watching Kagome run. A small form of him ran to her and collided with her stomach. They fell to the ground laughing as Kagome hugged him tightly. He snorted watching the two of them.

 

“Oh Maru-chan!” She giggled as she rubbed her cheek against his.

 

Sesshomaru glanced around his surroundings, noticing the forest starting to fog. He hopped out of the tree and watched as Kagome stood up, dusting her kimono off.

 

“I guess Maru-chan had to rest.” She whispered.

 

“Maybe so.” He said loud enough for her to hear.

 

Kagome gasped and fell. “Sesshomaru! W-what are you doing here?” She stammered.

 

“I do not know, I was expecting for you to know, but it seems you do not.” He said. He then turned so his back would face her. “How do you know that name, Maru-chan?”

 

“Well, my friend's son's name is that.” Kagome said.

 

Sesshomaru snorted. Kagome stood up and walked to his side.

 

“Sesshomaru, do you want to talk about your mother now?” Kagome knew she was pushing it but it was worth a try.

 

“No, I never wish to speak of her.” He snapped.

 

“Why not?” She asked cheerfully then stepped in front of him.

 

“Because I hate remembering what happened.” He said pushing her aside and walking away.

 

“Come on Maru-chan, you are being childish.” That is what made him snap.

 

He grabbed her throat and gripped it tightly. “Never call me that again.” He snarled in her face before dropping her none too gently.

 

She rubbed her sore tail bone and glaring at his retreating back. She quickly got to her feet and followed him. Kagome found him leaning against a tree near a crystal clear lake. His eyes were closed and his tail twitched a few times. Kagome thought back to what Mizu had said a few nights ago. `An angered or full minded male inu youkai can be calmed down by having his back massaged or being petted by a female.' Mizu had suggested for Kagome to do that but she was too scared to try. Lately she had to take suggestions from people to deal with this stubborn inu youkai. That was very unlike her. She blew a few bangs out of her eyes and thought `It's worth a shot.' She sat beside him and brushed his bangs from his face. She ran her fingers through his hair then petted him, with her other hand petting his tail.

 

He stared at her through his half closed eyes that showed complete comfort. The lids closed and a purr emitted from his chest as she scratched him behind his ear. His tail began swishing from side to side as she continued petting and scratching him.

 

She squealed when his tail wrapped itself around her waist and placed her on his waist, straddling him. His eyes opened halfway again and stared into hers.

 

“Gomen.” She murmured blushing.

 

His eyes closed again as he ran his claws gently and slowly through her ebony tresses. His hand reached her cheek and his thumb gently rubbed against her cheekbone. Kagome's blush darkened, why is it that nearly every time he touched her she would blush?? `I wanna hear him laugh again…' she thought. She blinked when she saw a wooden bucket next to her. Mizu had planted an idea into her head making Kagome smile mischievously.

 

She grabbed the bucket and splashed the water in his face quickly. Sesshomaru's eyes shot open in surprise then narrowed down into slits. She giggled, hastily got off of him then ran.

 

Sesshomaru smirked and felt the predator inside him jump up with excitement. He needed to chase someone to rid his mind of his foolish brother. He got to his feet and chased her through forest. Kagome's giggling didn't stop till she came to another lake. She hopped from stone to stone until she was pushed into the lake. She was glad it was shallow or else Sesshomaru would sink her with his weight.

 

Sesshomaru's claws rested on either side of her head holding her wrists, he was straddling her waist with his tail lightly swishing against the water. Kagome tried to stare into his eyes but it was difficult for his bangs were hiding them. She blew a strand of his hair away from her nose and blinked. His elbows bent lowering him closer to her. She could hear his light chuckling and bit her lip. His head lowered closer to her neck and nuzzled it. Kagome tried not to giggle as he nuzzled her. Her eyes widened when she felt a rough tongue lick her twice.

 

“Uh…Sesshomaru?”

 

“It's alright miko; it is merely a thank you lick.” He said sensing her uneasiness. He lifted his head off of her neck and stared at her. Kagome found amusement in his usually emotionless eyes.

 

“Well, you could have just said `thank you'” She said propping herself onto her elbows. He blush returned when she found out how close his face got to hers from her new position.

 

“Yes, but I prefer showing it, inuyoukai way.” He said placing his head on her abdomen and wrapping his arms around her waist. He used to hug his mother like this after playing with her.

 

“Well, what are you thanking me for?” She wondered aloud.

 

“You should know the answer.” He whispered before taking a whiff of her scent. Jasmine and sakura blossoms with a hint of…his brother!?

 

He took a strong sniff to see if his nose was fooling him, to his disappointment…it wasn't. He growled and tightened his grip on her waist. His claws seemed to pierce through her kimono and her skin. He heard her hiss and mutter `itai'. `Good…' he thought.

 

“Sesshomaru…” She hissed trying to pry his arms off of her.

 

“Why does my brother's scent still linger upon you?” He growled.

 

“I don't…” She began only to have Inuyasha's voice speak from her.

 

“You aren't the only one who appears in her dreams.” Inuyasha growled leaning against a tree near them with his arms over his bare chest.

 

Sesshomaru's face left her stomach and glared at his brother. He let Kagome go and stood.

 

“Besides, it's only in this world where my scent is on her.” Inuyasha said glowering at his half-brother.

 

Sesshomaru made his way to Inuyasha before Kagome gripped his hakamas. He looked down at her and saw the fear on her face. “Please Sesshomaru, don't start fighting.” She begged. He snarled and roughly kicked her off of his pants. She fell on her back in the water with a splash.

 

“Shouldn't you be pushing other people around?” Inuyasha asked. Sesshomaru didn't answer. “Why don't you let her go!?” Inuyasha yelled. “She hasn't done anything to you and all you do is cause her pain!!”

 

“I keep her safe from you, you wild beast.” Sesshomaru snapped. “So I suppose we both cause her pain.”

 

“That's not the same!!” Inuyasha snapped back. “That isn't me who is after her, trying to kill her!! I would never do that!!”

 

“I wasn't speaking of how you are now, little brother.” Sesshomaru calmly said walking towards him. “You run off to that miko made of earth and ashes, you have now idea what kind of monster you have started within Kagome. It is slowly eating her up, the more you run off, the worse it gets.”

 

Kagome's arms crossed her chest, her hands gripping her shoulders. Her body shook, Sesshomaru was not lying, something was growing within her and it wasn't a baby. She felt tears roll down her cheeks with each memory of Inuyasha and Kikyo together she tried so hard to forget. She watched as they dropped into the lake, each dropped was black which started painting the water as if she was getting black out of her paint brush with water.

 

“Oh, and it isn't growing from each punishment you have given her?!” Kagome's eyes squeezed shut. “You've seen her aura start to darken!! You too are making it worse with every punishment you give her and every teasing you said to her!!” She couldn't take it.

 

“Please…please stop shouting…” she whispered but the two stubborn inuyoukai ignored it. She could hear them shouting at each other more. “STOP SHOUTING!!!” She screaming covering her ears as a very strong source of energy blasted from her cowering body. The power pushed both brothers into a large tree making them hiss from the bark roughly scraping their bare backs.
