[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

A/M: Another late update… sorry…

One week before Prom:
Kagome paced in bedroom, she was in her dress. As she passed he mirror again she looked over herself, is anything missing? Kagome twirled again and again till she was dizzy. If I feel this nervous now, I wonder how I'll feel on my wedding day? Kagome smiled, she didn't know anything she could change to make the dress better. Kagome did one last look over.

“Kagome?” Inuyasha's voice said. He knocked on the door.

“Yeah! Hold on! Go get Koga and Souta, I'll be out in a little bit,” Kagome yelled back, she quickly got dressed in her normal clothes. Sango's little brother was having a birthday party and lets just say he has a little crush on Kagome. Inuyasha of course was the only one who had a car so after he dropped off Kagome, Souta, Koga, and Ayame he had to go pick up some of Kohaku's friends.

“God Kagome, you had to make me get the little brats!” Inuyasha complained. He already dropped off Koga, Ayame, and Souta at the party. Kagome volunteered to come and help him pick up the kids.

“I still can't believe you don't like kids Inuyasha!” Kagome pouted.

“And again: if I found the right girl to have kids with I would.” Inuyasha repeated from a dinner when Kagome first met his family.

“Well the right girl is very close,” Kagome said.

“I know you are Kagome, but I'm still not convinced kids are right. But I bet if I had kids with you they would be perfect.” Inuyasha explained and smiled at Kagome.

Kagome's face turned red, “Awww!” She cooed and kissed his cheek softly.

Miroku and Kohaku sat on the couch staring at each other; this was the first time they met face to face. Miroku didn't like kids much but Kohaku was now 13, what could he make of a teenager. Kohaku's eyes were like Sango's the color, the shape; they never took them of the enemy. It can apparent to Miroku that Kohaku doesn't like him and didn't like him near his sister.

“Boys, can you help me with something?” Sango called from the backyard.

“Coming!” Kohaku and Miroku called at the same time. Then they rushed to the back yard to help with the decorations. Sango was trying to tie up a banner but was too short.

“Miroku can you give me a lift?” Sango asked.

“Sure…”

Kohaku cut him off, “I can do it sis!”

“Thanks bro, but I think you're a little to small and not strong enough to lift me.” She said. She gave Kohaku a sweet, reassuring smile and he smiled back.

Miroku lifted Sango onto his shoulders so she can put up the banner. Miroku kept getting the urge to grab Sango's butt, but he knew that Kohaku was watching. And for some strange reason he wanted to make a good impression, he wanted Kohaku to accept him.

“Kohaku? Does it look even?” Sango asked.

“Um, I think the left has to be a little lower.” Kohaku said.

“Ok, Thanks bro.” Sango smiled at him. Sango fixed the banner just as the doorbell rang. “Oh, you friends are here!” Sango shouted excitedly.

Kohaku answered the door; Kagome and Inuyasha came in with a sea of teenagers. Kohaku blushed when he saw Kagome. “Um, Hi Kagome,” Kohaku said.

“Hey Mr. 13 year old!” Kagome said happily and gave him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Kohaku blushed even more. “Oh, Kohaku, this is my boyfriend Inuyasha.” Kagome said and Inuyasha held out his hand for Kohaku to shake it.

“Yo,” Inuyasha greeted. Kohaku just looked at him and nodded and left to go talk with his friends. Inuyasha looked at Kagome and she just shrugged her shoulders. He smiled and put his arm around her shoulders and walked to the backyard. The backyard was filled with teenagers and food. “How long do we have to stay?” Inuyasha asked.

“I've known Kohaku since he was born! I have to stay a long time, you can leave when you want.” Kagome said.

“Like I'm going to leave you here with a sea of love sick teenage boys.” Inuyasha said and pulled her closer to him. Kagome smiled and hugged him. Little did they know that jealous eyes were watching; and they weren't Kohaku's or Kikyo's. Koga was talking to Miroku and Ayame was helping Sango serve food. Kagome went to go help too.

“Inuyasha!” Miroku called him over.

When Inuyasha walked over he felt a chill go up his spine; someone was watching him. Inuyasha shook off the feeling and ignored it, if something happens I'm ready!

“Yo,” Inuyasha said again. He looked around quickly before turning to his friends.

“Whats up with Kohaku? Why does he hate me?” Miroku asked.

“Kagome said the he's really protective of Sango and doesn't like her boyfriends.” Inuyasha said.

“Well I'm not completely thrilled about him either.” Miroku said.

Koga chuckled, “Your acting so juvenile,” He said.

Miroku stuck his tongue at him. And the guys got a drink and watched kid dance.

“Guys! You hungry?” The girls called.

Kohaku was talking to Souta, “So do you like Miroku?” Souta asked.

“No,” Kohaku said.

“He's pretty cool when you get to know him,” Souta said.

“Well, I'm not willing to know him.” Kohaku said.

A half demon girl in Kohaku and Souta's class named Shiori walked over. “Hey Kohaku… Do you want to dance?” She asked nervously and fidgeted with her long white hair.

Kohaku gulped, “Um, sure Shiori,” Kohaku said and went to dance with her.

“Awww!” Kagome, Sango, and Ayame said when they saw Kohaku and Shiori.

“They make a cute couple!” Sango said as she watched them.

“Young love is so cute!” Ayame said and smiled sweetly.

“Good thing Kohaku is such a good dancer,” Kagome giggled.

Kohaku and Shiori danced a long time; they were having a lot of fun. “Do you want a drink?” Kohaku asked her.

“Ok,” She said and Kohaku poured her a drink.

Inuyasha and the guys were standing near by, “Hey that's cute,” Inuyasha said.

“Know I know why you two don't get along, he's a gentleman and your not!” Koga said and Inuyasha and Koga busted out laughing.

“Ha,” Miroku said sarcastically.

Then a slow song played and Kohaku guided Shiori back on the dance floor. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Koga did the same with their girlfriends. Kagome laid her head on Inuyasha's chest and danced with her eyes closed, savoring the moment. When she opened her eyes she say that Souta was dancing with a girl too. She smiled and whispered in Inuyasha's ear to look. Inuyasha smiled then planted a soft kiss on Kagome's lips.

“Perfect,” Kagome said and laid her head back on his chest.

Suddenly the backyard gate swung open, everybody turned to look. “Inuyasha!!!” The person shrieked. Inuyasha moved Kagome behind him and stared at the person by the gate. The person was in the shadows and Inuyasha didn't recognize them.

“What?” Inuyasha asked.

“I can't stand it anymore!” Inuyasha realized that the person was a girl and she was crying.

“Who are you?” Kagome demanded.

“Shut up Kagome!” Kagome gasped. How does she know my name? “You know your not good enough for him! I've been watching! You don't stand a chance!” The girl cried out and sobbed.

“What is this about? Answer the question!” Inuyasha demanded. He was starting to get annoyed.

“I love you Inuyasha!!!” The girl sobbed, “Kagome isn't good enough for you! Your wasting your time with a person like her!” The girl fell to her knees.

Inuyasha put his hands in his pockets and walked up to her, “Look? I don't know what your problem is.” Inuyasha reached her; her face was in her hands. “I don't even know you, and if I don't know you, you cant possibly know me. How can you love someone you don't know?”

The girl lifted her face, it was tear stained but the girl had short red hair and a lot of freckles. “I do know you! Your perfect! And I know I'm perfect for you!” The girl explained.

“You couldn't possibly know me!!! Don't pretended like you do!” Inuyasha yelled, angry. The girl looked shocked and hurt. “Hey, if you hadn't noticed this is not my party this is my friend's brother's party. You are ruining it,” Inuyasha said calmly.

More tears started running down her face, “I… I…” She looked around at everybody who was looking at her.

“If you want to try this again, talk to me when it doesn't bother anybody else.” Inuyasha said.

“Inuyasha?” Kagome gasped. She walked up behind him.

“I… I'm… I'm so sorry!” The girl said and got up and was about to run away but Kagome grabbed her hand.

“Inuyasha? How can you be so heartless?” Kagome asked angry.

“Kagome?” Inuyasha gasped surprised.

“This girl poured her heart out to you! How can you say such things?” Kagome let go of the girl's hand, but she didn't run. “I'm not saying you should return her feeling, but at lest think about how she must feel,” Kagome put her hands together.

Inuyasha nodded and walked toward the girl. “ I'm sorry but is impossible to return your feelings. I'm in love with Kagome.” The girl wiped her tears and nodded, “But you seem like a nice girl, you definitely have good taste,” He chuckled and the girl giggled. Inuyasha grabbed the girl's hand, “I would be honored to be your friend.” Inuyasha said.

The girl smiled widely and hugged Inuyasha, “Thank you,” the girl whispered. A tear of happiness rolled down her cheek.

Inuyasha smiled softly and patted her on the back. Kagome walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder.

“That's beautiful!” Shiori cried and she began to clap. Soon everybody joined in, clapping.
