InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Something To Protect ❯ Love ( Chapter 7 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

A/N: Close LadyWolf, but not quite right. I am considering a sequel to this story which will explain where Jaken is and where Rin has now gone - with `she'. Please vote yes or no to the idea in your review for this seventh and final chapter…

Chapter Seven - Love

InuYasha smiled at Sesshomaru, who was completely engulfed in his play with InuMaru. “So is this it then? A whole new you?” He asked playfully.

“What, and loose face? Not likely, but for you, and him of course, this is it. This is what I have always been, but no one has ever seen.” He put InuMaru down and wrapped himself around InuYasha. “And I want to thank you, for giving me the chance to be this.”

InuYasha buried himself deep in Sesshomaru's chest. “I never would have guessed that this would be where I ended up.”

“I expected you to go off with that girl. The priestess.”

“Kikio?”

“No, the other one.”

“Oh, you mean Kagome.” InuYasha paused and thought for a moment. “No… it was more like having a sister the way I loved her. Not like this.” He added, curling back into Sesshomaru's embrace. “But I will always miss her…”

Sesshomaru smiled. “There is something that I need to do, will you wait here for me?”

“Of course I will.”

“This is the place, I want it built here.”

“But my Lord, why do you…”

Sesshomaru glared at the much younger dog demons he had summoned. “I want it here.” He said flatly and walked off, intent on getting back to InuYasha before nightfall.

One of the demons looked at the other. “You know that if she finds out about this she is going to go mad.”

“No she won't, whatever his will is she makes happen after all.”

“It's not us I'm worried about.”

“Shut your yap, if we don't get to work soon then it will be us you need to worry about.”

* * *

“I want to show you something, but it going to take a bit of walking. Think you can manage it?”

“I recovered from birth overnight, you think that a little trek is going to kill me?”

“Alright, alright, come on then.”

“Where are we going?” InuYasha questioned as they went.

“You will see when we get there.”

“Can't you just tell me?”

Sesshomaru stopped and turned to look down at InuYasha. “If you do not stop acting as if you're the same age as our son then I will not take you at all.”

InuYasha pouted, but continued on behind Sesshomaru in silence. They came out of the woods next to the stream and Sesshomaru took InuMaru from InuYasha and placed him on the grass, with the blankets wrapped at his sides to stop him rolling away.

Sesshomaru grabbed InuYasha's hand and pulled him toward the river. “This is the first thing. Jump in.”

InuYasha stared at Sesshomaru as if he were crazy. “What? Do you know how deep it is? I… I don't swim so well…”

Sesshomaru nodded. “I know, jump in.”

InuYasha walked to the edge of the water, but paused and looked back at Sesshomaru who caught his eyes. Sesshomaru smiled softly. “Jump.”

For reasons he couldn't begin to understand, InuYasha stepped off of the back and just let the water swallow him. He felt Sesshomaru's touch and still he made no attempt to save himself. He opened his eyes as he felt himself resurface and was greeted by a somewhat amusing sight. “It's defiantly a different look…” He giggled and he stared at his dripping brother bobbing next to him.

“Well at least now you know you can trust me.”

“I trusted you anyway, if I didn't then there is no way I would have let you be near him.” InuYasha said with a smile, indicating InuMaru with a nod of his head.

“So now I'm going to smell like wet dog for the rest of the day for nothing; is that what you're saying?”

InuYasha grinned. “That's about it, yeah… do you mean to say that you brought me all this way to tell me something I already know?”

Sesshomaru smiled. “No.”

“Well then why the hell did we walk all this way? Why to this place?”

“Because from here you can see that.” He pointed with a clawed finger and InuYasha's eyes fixed on a wooden structure. “That is a home for our family, and in answer to your question, it had to be this place because just there was where you were bathing that morning, the first time I realized just how much I really loved you.”

A/N again: It's a shorty but all in all I think a nice way to end this chapter of their lives together. Like I said, let me know if you do want that sequel where you find out about `she', where Miroku is now, what Kagome is doing and what Rin is up to… REVIEW! Love Pretty Crazed Doll x
