Alas, it was no dream. The falling sort of reminded her about Kagome's plunge to the death. Kyoko braced herself for impact. She knew it was coming, soon.

But she fell no more. She opened her eyes since they were closed when she was falling. She looked around and then down. Her eyes widened. She was floating! But how could that be?

Kyoko felt a comforting power around her. It was easing her mind, telling her that everything will be well. She made a small smile.

The girl landed on the ground on her feet. She looked up and saw Kirara fighting the poisonous insects. Kyoko presumed that she could handle it well by herself. Her main concern was to destroy her brother, no matter how much it pained her. It had to be done. The world counted on her…again.

She started walking towards the great Naraku-reborn. She stared at him as he did to her.

“So, you survived, I was hoping you would be dead,” he said sadly.

“Sorry to disappoint you,” Kyoko replied sarcastically. She laid a hand on her waist as if she was bored with the small conversation.

Jiro chuckled and attacked her by swinging one of his remaining legs at her. Kyoko somersaulted and whipped out a purify arrow and shot it at him. It disintegrated yet another of his legs and Jiro/Naraku yelled out another scream of pain. Kyoko held her ground.

Jiro hissed in anger. How can this measly girl hurt him like this? She must repay! He transformed into his human form and stared at her with deadly eyes. He smirked and it sort of sent a wave of shivers through Kyoko. Jiro was planning something and she knew it wouldn't be good.

Naraku-reborn levitated into the air with his arms above his head. Dark storm clouds hovered overhead while strong winds picked up. He bellowed, “Dark spirits of the Underworld, hear my command. Give me your strength and power to defeat this person who dares challenge me!”

Kyoko saw black shadows coming from the ground and traveled over to where her brother was. She had to stop this before it was too late. She ran over to him, but was thrown back. She picked herself up off the ground and started walking forward with an outstretched hand. Then she felt something and stopped. There was a barrier, which meant that she couldn't go any further.

The miko could feel his power rising. She trembled and started to feel very doubtful at this current situation.

Then it stopped. Kyoko gulped hard. Jiro landed on the ground and made a maniacal laugh.

“I believe this is just the beginning of a long battle,” Kyoko said to herself.
