"I think I'm going to keep my distance." Kagome said as she bit down into her Big Mac. She,

Sango, and Miroku had discovered a McDonald's just behind the hotel and decided to drop in for

a bite to eat. Strangely enough, they only knew Miroku for little less than a day and he was already

buying them both lunch! Not that the two girls were complaining or anything. "He don't seem to

like me all that much. He let loose at me last night, yelling at me for 'barging' in on his Spring

Break."

Miroku nodded. "Yeah...but I can sorta see why..you look JUST like her."

"Who?" Kagome and Sango blinked and put their food down on their trays and looked at him.

"Who, Miroku?"

"OK...he won't like me telling you girls this but you might as well know." Miroku said. "Inuyasha

was once going out with this girl named Kikyo. She meant the world to him, and he would do

anything for her, no matter if it was to push him over the edge at times. One night when Inuyasha

got home from a party he walked in his room to go to sleep and caught Kikyo and his brother

Sesshoumaru in bed together. It ruined him, I never seen him so upset before in my life!" the door

to McDonald's opened and the three directed their eyes over to who walked in. It was a lifeguard,

he was accompanied by a girl with long black hair...who looked like Kagome. "That's her..."

Miroku whispered.

Kagome narrowed her eyes as she looked at Kikyo. 'What a bitch! How could she have done that

to Inuyasha!?' she sniffed and picked up her Big Mac. 'What a heartless good-for-nothing slut.'

"I can see your upset." Miroku said to her calmly. "And I think you have every right to be. But

please, for now don't let him know that you know. He'll kill me if he finds it out."

Kagome nodded slowly. "I won't tell..." she took a bite of the burger and slurred her eyes over at

Kikyo. 'I should kick her ass...wait...why would I? This guy totally lashed out at me, why should I

defend him!?' she sighed. 'Maybe he's not all that bad...I can't help but feel for him though, I

could only imagine what its like to have your heart ripped out like that...poor Inuyasha.'

"Your wrong, Miroku." Sango eyed Kikyo. "She Kagome doesn't look like her, Kagome is much

prettier."

"Now I have to agree there." Miroku smirked.

Kagome felt her cheeks grow hot, she bit down into her Big Mac. "You ..mhmhmhm...guys are

just ...mhmhmmhmhmmh... saying that." she said between chews.

"No, but honestly though; she has nothing on you in looks." Sango said. "At least you look

healthy. Kikyo looks so pale..."

Miroku nodded.

Kagome looked over at Kikyo once more and nearly jumped out of her shirt when she saw that the

miko was looking straight back at her, her eyes narrowed in anger. Kagome returned the look and

went back to eating. She could see that she was going to have a lot of trouble with Kikyo; she also

had a feeling that all the troubles were going to revolve around Inuyasha...

Kagome walked back into the cabin, she wasn't surprised to see Inuyasha curled up on the couch

in front of the tv. She sighed and rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen, which was joined on to

the livingroom. "Where were you at all day?" Kagome froze hearing Inuyasha's voice, she didn't

think he was going to speak to her after the outburst the two had the night before, though she was

a bit relived that he caved first.

"With Sango and Miroku." she answered. "I'm going again soon though."

"Have fun." Inuyasha said, his gaze going back towards the tv, not taking the hint in Kagome's voice.

"Is this where your going to stay for all of Spring Break?" Kagome finally asked.

"Probably."

Kagome shook her head and walked over to the tv, turning it off. She then walked over to the

surprised hanyou and grabbed his arm. "No, your not. Your coming to the beach with me, Sango

and Miroku."

"Like the Jesus I am." Inuyasha snapped.

Kagome growled. "Listen, I DON'T care that you don't like me! but I'll have you know..." she

got down into his face. "I may look like her...but I'm NOT her. You understand?" she took off her

shirt and pants revealing her black bikini and left the cabin and headed down to the beach. 'I can't

believe him...' she thought, all the piti she had for him washing away from her brain. 'But I guess

its not his fault...but he's still being stubborn...'

"You can help me..."

Kagome stopped and turned around, Inuyasha stood behind her, he was wearing a black and red

pair of swimming shorts. "Nani?"

Inuyasha walked up closer to Kagome, he looked down at her. "You can help me right? To get

over her?"

Kagome nearly stopped breathing, but nodded slowly. She really wanted to help him. "Yes."

Inuyasha nodded. "OK, and...I do understand, your not her." he bowed his head. "Gomen."

Kagome smiled. "Don't. I don't really know how it feels to be betrayed like that, but I have some

understanding of it."

Inuyasha smiled. "So...you got me out...what shall we do?" he looked around the beach slowly.

"Well, I guess we can start by looking for Sango and Miroku." Kagome said.

"Sounds good...so...where do you think they are?" Inuyasha asked as the two began to walk along

the crowded beach.

"Not sure...they could be anywhere." Kagome said, she looked to one side of them and spotted

Kikyo and her lifeguard, and by the looks on Inuyasha's face he had seen them too. "Are you

OK?"

Inuyasha nodded slowly. "Um..yeah..."

"Iie, your not." Kagome said. "Listen...I know your hurt and angry...so I'm going to do

something." she looked over at Kikyo you was looking directly at them.

"What are you going to do?"

"We are friends now...right?" Inuyasha nodded. Kagome smirked. "I hate people who hurts my

friends..." she started to walk over to Kikyo, feeling Inuyasha's eyes on her back all the way. 'This

might not help him but it will make me feel better..' she thought.

"Hai?" Kikyo asked when Kagome got up to her.

"Your Kikyo right?" Kagome asked.

Kikyo nodded. "Hai. Nani?" she said in a bitchy tone.

Kagome's eyes narrowed and she punched her in the face knocking her backwards into the

lifeguards arms. "That was for hurting Inuyasha..." she said in threatening voice. Then, ignoring

the stares she got from the other people on the beach, Kagome walked away, but not back to

Inuyasha, she wasn't going to put him through the embarrassment of walking with her after that.
