Chieko-san: Well....chapter 9...it seems like the story is gonna end soon don't it? Hehe, not hardly, I still have A LOT of crazy ass stuff to write...and also...do you ALSO realize they still have at least six days left on that beach? Tee-hee-hee. SO I AIN'T DONE YET!

Ka gome looked up through the window that laid on the ceiling in her room. After Inuyasha had

bathed her he put bandages on her wounds and dressed her in a robe he called his Hinezumi no

koromo. 'He did all this for me...' she thought with a slight tremble. 'And now he's gone out to

tell Miroku and Sango what Kikyo had done.' she shifted and sat up slowly, trying to ignore the

raging shots of pain that sharply made their way up her spine. "Oh...crap..." she winced.

No sooner were the words out of her mouth than Inuyasha came running into the room "Kagome

are you OK?!" he sat next to her and put one arm around her shoulder and his other hand on the

top part of her chest. "Why did you move?"

"I thought you were gone over to see Miroku and Sango.." Kagome said looking at him weakly.

"I was." Inuyasha said, looking her in the eyes. "And as soon as I came into the house..." his eyes

lowered. "Kagome I'm still very worried about you. Kikyo is denying every word to everybody, so

she isn't going to be getting into any trouble for doing this..."

"I..don't care.." Kagome said, she rested her head on his shoulder. "...she can go on and get away

with it...I never got away with punching her and neither should have I gotten away anyway's. I

knew that Kikyo would be the type of person who would get even, even if she did go to the

extreme with it."

Inuyasha held her close and nodded slowly. "I don't really agree with you...but its making a little

sense to me...I guess."

"Thank you so much for being here for me, Inuyasha." Kagome whispered. "I am really grateful."

"Don't be..." Inuyasha answered, he rested his head on hers and closed his eyes. "I'd never let any-

thing happen to you...and nothing like that will happen again. I promise I will always be here for

you."

"How can you be so sure...? After we leave here we will be going our separate ways to our

schools and neighborhoods..." Kagome said. "The chances of us seeing each other again is very

slim." she sighed. "And that goes the same for Miroku and Sango..."

Inuyasha opened his eyes. "Our plane leaves before yours in six days...I'll wait for you at the

airport..."

"You don't have to." Kagome said.

"Yes I do..." Inuyasha said. "I made a promise."

Kagome lowered her eyes, she felt so sure of him now...and she felt so safe... 'I want to tell him.'

she thought to herself. 'I want to kiss him...I want to let him know how I feel...' she wanted to cry

right then and there, but she held it back.

Inuyasha sniffed the air silently, smelling the wave of sadness that flowed across Kagome. 'If only

I could tell her...' he thought with a long sigh. 'Then...she'd have a good reason to believe me

when I say I will always be here...'

"I couldn't tell him." Kagome said to Sango, who was cuddled up with her on the floor of Sango's

room. Kagome had forced herself to get dressed and to go see her friend. She really needed to talk

to someone about her feelings for the hanyou.

Sango sighed. "Why not?"

"I don't know...it seemed like the right time but..." Kagome licked her lips. "I couldn't find the

words." she looked at Sango. "How did you tell Miroku?"

Sango smiled a bit. "We kinda never really TOLD each other. It just happened."

"I told you..." Kagome smiled. "And I knew you were going to end up going with him...I'm good

at guessing these types of things!"

"Yes, but its much easier to see that it will happen between you and Inuyasha." Sango said. "You

know you'll have to let him know about your feelings someday."

"But what if he turns me down?"

"You know...if you weren't already hurt I would slap you." Sango said with a sweat-drop. "You

know he won't you baka!"

Kagome sighed. "But the fear will always be there, Sango."

Sango nodded. "Yeah...but you do know the difference, right?"

Kagome sighed and nodded slowly. "Yes..."
