Stand Inside Your Love

Chapter 4

When they arrived at Kaede's village, they hurried around looking for her.

`We have to hurry,' thought Kagome. `His human body can't withstand the wounds much longer!' Eventually, they found Kaede in the village medicinal garden picking herbs.

"What happened?" she asked as Kilala brought Inuyasha's almost lifeless body.

"Sesshomaru gave Inuyasha all sorts of wounds and a gash in his back. If he were still a hanyou, he would've been fine, but tonight's his night of vulnerability, obviously," Miroku explained as they walked to Kaede's hut.

"Battling over the Tetsusaiga, I suppose," said Kaede.

"Yes, and even though Inuyasha was terribly wounded, he still managed to defeat Sesshomaru," said Miroku.

"Hmm…"

Kagome and Kaede treated Inuyasha wounds long into the night, long after everyone went to sleep. Kagome still had hope that Inuyasha would make it.

"We've done all we could. The rest is up to Inuyasha," Kaede yawned. "C'mon, off to bed."

"I can watch over him," suggested Kagome, trying to hide a yawn.

"No, I seriously think you should get some sleep."

"I can't sleep knowing that Inuyasha is severely wounded. Please?" pleaded Kagome.

"Fine." When Kaede went into the other room, Kagome thought she heard her say the word, "Teenagers."

Kagome sat next to Inuyasha, watching his chest move up and down, making sure that he was still alive. It seemed as if ages had passed by. Slowly, she grew more tired. Eventually, she couldn't keep her eyelids open. Kagome started to doze off. Just before Kagome was about to fall into an actual sleep, Inuyasha called out to her.

"Ka- Kagome," he started to open his eyes.

"Your alive!"

"Yeah, I'm fine, just weak."

"Listen, I'm sorry about the whole Sesshomaru thing."

"No, I should be the one apologizing, for getting mad at you. It's just that I get jealous when someone like Koga or Sesshomaru is around you." He suddenly paused. Did he just say that? He held Kagome in his arms.

"At least you're all right," whispered Kagome, letting tears silently fall down her cheeks. She fell asleep in his arms.

INUYASHA'S P.O.V.

What I told Kagome was the truth. I do get pissed off when a guy approaches her. I wonder how she feels about that. * yawn *

END P.O.V.

And with that, Inuyasha fell asleep… The next day, the weather was beautiful, not even a cloud in the sky. Inuyasha and Kagome were sitting under a tree of cherry blossoms.

KAGOME'S P.O.V.

It feels kinda weird sitting right next to Inuyasha because we'd usually be battling demons and he never really talks to me this intimately, either. But at the same time, it feels really comfortable for the same reasons. But, I shouldn't get my hopes up. I'm sure he still loved Kikyou.

END P.O.V.

"Kagome?"

"Yeah, Inuyasha?"

"Have I ever told you why I hate Sesshomaru?"

A/N: Yay, Inuyasha and Kagome fluff! I can't wait to go to L.A next week. I hope to go to Little Tokyo. Maybe I might see Dir En Grey, because I heard that they record there, and so does Yoshiki! Ja ne!
