Chapter 22
Shower, Bath, and Food Oh My
Sango blushed, never before had she had a reaction to any man, the way she had with him. She took in a deep breath, and extended her hand, “Hello, Miroku, nice to meet you.”
She smiled shyly at him, as she felt her cheeks flame to life. After closing and locking her front door, she saw him extending his arm out. She snaked her arm through his, as he escorted her to his black Dodge Durango, which happened to be parked on the side of her street-directly in front of her apartment complex.
Once inside, she was quiet, `what do I say?' she tried to shake her nerves; she couldn't let a man best her. She'd never in her life become speechless in front of a man, and refused to allowed it to happen now. `Think girl, there has to be something you can ask him?' however looking into his blue eyes, she lost all concentration.
“What restaurant would you like to dine at tonight?” Miroku asked, then a sly smile appeared across his face, “by the way you look very lovely tonight.”
`Oh we have a charmer,' she thought, as she watched him grab her hand, only to bring it up to his lips. She blushed; “Thank you.” Maybe she would just end the date, since he probably thought her as mute.
Glancing back over to Miroku, she locked eyes with him once again. She closed her eyes, and then turned towards the window. `Okay, looking at him is not helping.'
Miroku chuckled, as he started his vehicle. “I could take you to this restaurant, who has the best liver and onions.”
She widened her eyes, `Oh no? I hate liver and onions. I have to tell him…but then I'll seem rude.'
He watched her intently; he'd have to say this has been quite interesting. His friend told him that she was a wildcat, and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. On the contrary, she hardly spoken a word, but when she did, it was soft and sexy. He could only imagine what she would sound like with her sinful moans. He coughed slightly, causing her to look at him with her doe-like eyes.
She smiled, “Do you like Chinese?”
“Yes, very much. Is that what you prefer?”
She nodded her head, and then looked out the window once again. “I never cared for liver and onions,” she said with a smile.
Miroku laughed, “To be honest, either do I.”
Sango looked over at him confused, “Then may I ask why you suggested it?”
“It got you to open up a little. Don't you agree Sango?”
She laughed softly; she began to finally feel somewhat comfortable talking to him, if she didn't look into his gaze. His eyes were alluring, and knew that if she looked into them, she would melt.
The ride was smooth, and conversation minimal. She looked out the window admiring the nighttime skylight, as they drove into the city of Cleveland.
Miroku cursed, he couldn't find any parking on the side of the street. Finally giving up he pulled into a parking garage. Stepping out of the truck, he quickly hurried over to the passenger side of the door. For some reason, he wanted to impress her, and opened the door for her and extended out his hand.
Sango smiled, and accepted his offering. She was usually an independent woman, and normally she would turn her nose up with their kind jester. Yet Miroku was different, she found his charm flattering.
Stepping out into the nightlife, a swift breeze picked up her dress, showing off her long legs. She fought to pull her dress down, blushing all the same. She'd forgotten how windy this city could be.
Miroku smiled as he glimpsed at her toned legs. They were strong and she looked athletic. He hoped that another gust of wind would lift her dress higher. He smiled coolly at her, as he noticed her looking at him oddly; as he shook away any impure thoughts he was having right at this moment.
When they arrived, to the restaurant only a half a block from where he parked, he quickly opened the door for her. The restaurant had a very strong Asian flare to the room. Moreover, the smells were truly mouth watering. He'd never been to the: `Asian Wok' before, and hoped the food was as good as the atmosphere.
Finally seated, they ordered their drinks, he was surprised when he ordered a beer and she ordered a Diet Coke. He found out a little about her from the small conversation on the way to the restaurant. She was a bartender, and didn't drink? He pondered the thought-finding the irony amusing.
“Miroku, well all I really know about you is that you work at Hopkins Airport. What exactly do you do there?”
Miroku picked up his beer and took a sip; he smiled at Sango noticing her cheeks flush. “Well its quite simple really, I'm an air traffic controller.”
She quirked an eyebrow over the menu, “you think that is simple?”
He chuckled, “yes really. Although it can be quite dull…however, the pay is good. Just as long, that none of the planes fall into the red-zone. It's a piece of cake.”
Placing the menu down, she folded her hands together fidgeting, “what is the red-zone?” Sango couldn't help but ask, she sure didn't want to feel like an idiot on her first date.
“The red-zone my dear, is a place nobody ever wants to go…then the job becomes maddening.” Miroku stated, while he lifted up her hands, and couldn't believe how soft they were, and looked so tiny in the grasp of his hands.
Sango smiled, “I could only imagine. If I'm correct the red-zone means that there is a possible collision. Am I correct.”
`Beauty and brains.' He smiled, “indeed you are.”
“Has that ever happened to you before?”
“Not yet.”
Sango smiled, she seemed to be doing that of lately, but she couldn't help it. She really liked him. She was about to ask another question, when the server arrived. She looked up and placed her order.

Sango found it amazing they both shared the same likes in Asian cuisine. He even dipped his Crab Rangoon, into the small bowl of hot mustard. She thought that she was the only one who liked to eat Crab Rangoon that way. Usually everyone always ordered sweet and sour sauce.
She'd open up to him more, the time their dinner arrived-again, both ordering the same: General Tso's Chicken. The only difference he had rice, while she ordered the steamed broccoli. Rice was never one of her favorites and usually avoided it when she ate out.
Bye the end of their dinner, they were laughing. She couldn't believe how easy it was to open up to him. It was like a long lost friend, that she needed to catch up with the time they've been apart.
They had a lot in common, both worked stressful jobs-her dealing with drunks-and him dealing with pilots who could be just as bad. She also noticed that he loved going to movies, hiking and was athletic in his own right.
“I can't believe all these years that I've lived in Cleveland…” Sango chuckled, “… and you go to the same Gym.”
Miroku gave her his sexiest grin, “I'd defiantly would've remembered you my dear.”
`Oh cupid, what in the world did you do to me?' she thought dreamily as she stared into his eyes. She knew she could fall hard for this man, she was already thinking about ripping off his clothing and taking him here in the restaurant. She watched him lustfully as he pulled out his wallet and placed a gold card on the black plastic tray. She could only imagine how strong he looked underneath his clothing. She felt her face flush again with embarrassment. Here she was on her first date, and was thinking like some harlot.
Although her eyes were filled with lust, she desperately tried to maintain her composure, “Yes, I'd have to agree.”
“Oh?”
Sango looked down, then gazed up at him again, “I don't think I could forget a face like yours either.”
Miroku had been on many dates in his life and taken many women home, never calling them again. For some reason he couldn't do that with her. He genuinely liked her, and would do whatever means necessary to prolong their date. “Would you like to go for a walk?” he asked as the server came and collected the tray.
She smiled as she picked up one of the fortune cookies, the server left behind. “A walk? Where to?” she asked, as she ripped open the small plastic bag hiding away her golden treasure. Breaking open the cookie, she pulled out the white paper.
“I thought maybe we could walk on the beach.” He smiled as he grabbed his own cookie.
She watched his façade change quickly, “well what does your say?”
He snickered, “you first.”
She smiled and lifted her paper up, “it says: `Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.'”
“Very interesting.”
“And yours?”
He laughed, “Okay, mine says: `Any job, big or small; do it right, or not at all.'”
Sango laughed loudly, “Miroku, your fortune suits you, however I'm still trying to understand mine.”
The server returned with his card, Miroku signed the slip it then grabbed his copy, placing the card and slip into his wallet. Gazing into her brown eyes, he lifted her hands once again bring them to his lips, “I think it's apparent.”
She shyly looked away, his gaze longing for her. “You speak in riddles, am I missing something.”
He beamed, then lifted her up, her hand still in his, “My dear Sango, it's obvious, that you like me, am I right?”
Once again, she found herself looking away from him. `Was I that noticeable?' she pondered, and then found herself staring at him. “Yes Miroku I like you a lot.”
Miroku smiled, as he lifted her chin, “your fortune came true, and I'm standing right next to you.” He brought his head closer to hers, his lips now resting against her ear, “Because Sango, I like you too.”
Sango was mesmerized, yet she could of swore her heart skipped a beat. His hot breath sent shivers down her spine and swore that she had Goosebumps. Paralyzed with lust she'd never knew existed. Before she was able to register, he kissed her. It had been a chaste kiss, but she could feel his soft lips touching hers. She'd wanted to continue, the innocent kiss with something more sinful. However, being in a public restaurant she was glad he pulled away.
“Sango? You can open your eyes now,” he whispered in her ear.
`Oh God! How humiliating.' She opened her eyes, only to see him smirk at her. Her face must have looked like a sun-ripped tomato; she could feel the heat from her cheeks as it spread across her face.
“Why Sango…you're beaming.” Miroku couldn't contain his mirth, she was radiant and could see himself falling very hard for her. “It's okay Sango, it only enhances your natural beauty.” Grabbing her hand, he led her out of the restaurant. He never imagined her being so bold- When he'd been suddenly slammed up against the wall, with a seductive looking Sango, heading towards his lips.
The kiss was never what they imagined it to be. It was deep and passionate-one trying to dominate the other-as their tongues seemly danced the rumba.
Sango pulled back, panting. She didn't want to go to the beach anymore, she wanted him-all of him-regardless of what her inner voice was chanting. She didn't care what her damn conscience said, she wanted him now. “Miroku?”
`There's that wildcat, I was hoping to come out.' He beamed, as he caressed the side of her face. He too was lost in her eyes, her touch. She was everything that he'd been looking for and damn if he wasn't going to let her go.
Miroku tried to respond, but the instant tightening in his pants left his mind turning to instant goop. In addition, it seemed like an eternity just to answer her. “Yes.” Although it wasn't a question, he was just hoping he could feel her luscious lips again.
She gazed up at him with her bedroom eyes, “I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that.” She knew she was contradicting herself, but also needed to be realistic: Relationships don't last if you sleep with them on the first date. However all rationality escaped her brain, when he touched her again. She closed her eyes, desperately fighting the temptation. `But what if it could?' She had to know-she wanted to take the risk.
Miroku watched her intently; he knew with her body language that he could easily take her home. He didn't hold that against her as he would with other woman-for some reason he couldn't find her disrespectful-and according to their mutual friend she never takes guys home. Yet, something about her felt so right, how perfectly her body molded with his. How her lips left sparks behind with her kiss, her touch-everything about her was electrifying.
He kissed the palm of her hand, “Sango please don't feel ashamed…for I feel it too.” It was his turn to blush-something he rarely did. “I see the way you look at me, and how you've been undressing me with those hypnotic eyes of yours.” He didn't give her a chance to respond, when his powerful lips careened with hers. “Ask me, all you have to do is ask, and I will do everything in my power to see it fulfilled.”
Sango caved with his passionate lips. Everything she thought morally wrong just flew the coop, “Miroku, please take me home?”
He smiled, and then kissed her again, “Come your chariot awaits Mi Lady.”
She giggled, and then grabbed his offering hand, as he pulled her hastily towards the garage.

Lightning illuminated the nighttime sky silhouetting the now blackened jungle, with its ominous crackling. A large rumbling followed soon after.
Inuyasha whispered, “Kagome? Wake up love.” He tried to rouse her, but she seemed to be in a deep sleep.
“What a perfect timing for a storm,” Shippo piped up. He too awoke with the large rumble. He stretched then turned to the brothers, “where too now? Sesshomaru do you think you can turn into that ball again…and maybe…get us the hell out of here?”
Shippo was answered with a firm growl from Sesshomaru, “ I already told you kit-,” he paused when the wind suddenly shifted he could smell another human. “Go find shelter in the trees, I will be with you shortly…seems we will soon have a guest.”
Shippo watched the elder walk away; he followed Inuyasha into the dense vegetation-as soon as he put out the fire. “So Inuyasha, wouldn't it be nice right now if we had a bed, food and a shower right now?”
Inuyasha growled baring his fangs, “do you need to remind me-because shit runt, its been to long since I've eaten decently or slept on a comfortable bed; or even had a shower. So yea it would be nice.”
Shippo smiled slightly, “Sorry bud, it must have been a terrifying experience for the two of you. I promise when we get back to the room we'll raid the mini bar, and then order the whole menu.”
“That does sound good,” Inuyasha smiled, he could use a good drink. “But who in the hell is going to pay for this, I have no id and cant access my accounts-you are always broke-so who?”
“Who do you think? Sesshomaru of course.”
“What? He's a cheap bastard. I don't think so.”
Shippo just smirked, “I think your disappearance has changed him. He's not so much as a `cheap bastard' you so claim him to be. Besides, he owes me.”
Inuyasha didn't say anything just gave his friend a puzzling look, although he thought this would be the last time he saw his friend alive. He frowned thinking of what his dear brother would do to him when he finds out. Of course, he wasn't going to rat out Shippo, but he would be on the sidelines watching the scene unfold.

Sesshomaru stalked his unsuspecting prey. He watched intently on the lone man resting. He approached him, noticing that he held a firearm. He didn't care, human bullets have been trying to pierce him for years…now if he had a cannon, he could worry. However, this human was no threat.
“Wake up!” Sesshomaru hissed, while kicking the man's legs.
