A/N – Yay, I’m back writing for LJ again! And I found a new comm too (see next “chapter”). So I’ll be posting for two comms now. This new one isn’t Inu/Kag like First Tweak, and the pairings are all over the place. But don’t worry, I’ll inject some good wholesome Inu/Kag whether they like it or not. :) Maybe I can convert some people back to the light, LOL.
The Heroic Hanyou
It had been a long day’s journey. Over breathtaking plains of lush green he marched, through dark forests most forbidding, all with unwavering determination. He braved tall mountains, climbed up sheer cliff faces with no fear, and waded through waist-deep snowdrifts. He met others along the way, some wandering about aimlessly, some seeking opponents to fight. Those he dispatched without mercy, becoming stronger for every battle won, every enemy slain. All to reach his final destination, the lair where the great demon lurked, and where no mortal had ever emerged from alive. He would be the first. He would slay the demon and claim all the glory, all the honor, and all the acclaim he rightfully deser—
“Hey, Inuyasha?”
The only reply Souta got was a distracted grunt; the hanyou didn’t even look away from the screen. Grimacing, he tried again.
“Are you ever going to get off my computer? You know, I have a World of Warcraft account too…”
“Keh. You’re a noob. I’m on an important quest here!”
Souta slumped in defeat. I’m never going to get back on my computer again, am I?
Sometime later, the heroic hanyou again received an unwanted visitor from the real, boring world.
“Inuyasha,” Kagome called softly from the doorway. “I thought you wanted to go back today.”
“Can’t. Playing World of Warcraft.”
Kagome frowned, somewhat perplexed, but shrugged it off. She skipped away happily; this meant a hot bath and another night in her warm, comfy bed! She was sure Inuyasha’s little obsession with that computer game would blow over soon.
Right?
A/N – For the record, I’ve never actually played World of Warcraft. All I know about it comes from that great South Park episode and reading about it on Wikipedia. I apologize for any inconsistencies with the real game, but I wanted to avoid giving the punch line away too soon.
